2011 30 Mg Oxycodone Shortage

Updated

I am a 51 y/o who lives in Florida, suffering from chronic back pain, and have been prescribed to take up to six 30mg oxycodone tablets a day for over two years by my Pain Management doctor. However, when I went to fill my prescription almost 4 weeks ago, my pharmacy told me their distributor had stopped shipping oxycodone to Florida pharmacies. Since then, I have personally visited about 100 pharmacies but have been unable to find them in stock anywhere. As a former paralegal, I attempted to research the situation, but could only confirm that the DEA has yearly quot on all controlled substances (for oxy's is 98 million grams in 2011). From I gather from the Internet, it appears that the ENTIRE state of FLORIDA is not getting any shipments of oxycodone 30 mg. from distributors, but are other states having this problem as well? Also, can anyone confirm whether (and HOW) the DEA is pressuring distributors to avoid Florida?

This is occurring in various states, all over the U.S. and there has been no explanation provided as to why. It is not listed on the FDA reported shortages list.

The DEA also has no way of making them avoid Florida, when selling their medications to pharmacies and, as I said, this isn't just happening in Florida.

Have you tried talking to your doctor about using an alternative medication in the meantime?

I am in a similar situation. I have been taking Roxy's for 6 years now and have followed the laws and doctors order. I am a single father of 3 and was in a really bad auto accident. I do think it is unfair that they are punishing everyone because of the actions of a few. I have to work and when I can hardly get out of bed because of the pain it causes major problems

Now that the data system is in place and they can keep track they should allow the people that follow the rules to get there meds and allow the manufacturers to produce what is needed.

I don't buy any of this. My thoughts are that legislators have put a halt to how much of this med reaches Florida. I would kindly write these legislators and tell them what a hardship this putting on your life, trying to function and maintain a job in this economy. The more people that do this may help them understand the needs of a legitimate pain patient. I would suggest in telling them your diagnosis, to help them understand your pain. Tell how you feel each and everyday. Tell them some day this could effect their lives. Fact! 116 million people have chronic pain on a daily basis, not including Military veterans or pallative care reports the IOM Institute of Medicine 2011.

I am 62 years old and have been a pain management patient for 25 years. I was called today by my pharmacy and told they will not be able to fill my prescription I will be out of medication Nov 29th and was told by the pharmacy I can expect to die shortly afterwards they suggest 3-4 days at the best and they are trying to get me my medication but they are sorry there is nothing they can do. I will not go into withdrawal I will probably have a heart attack. I am really happy for all the criminal's who have brought this about including all the powers that are in the food chain responsible for stopping the flow of my medication. I have seen this country decay brick by brick and it saddens me so. I love America but if it means people like me are made the victim by our government without regard for law abiding citizens it is time for a very major change in the way we are. I won't live to see it and at least I will go out with some level of dignity. I guess the old catch phrase ...do it for the children will be shoved up our asses. So now we have a government that holds your hand all the way to the grave.

There is a huge shortage up here in Maryland too. I have been on Oxycodone 30mg, 4x a day for over a year after falling off my horse. My boyfriend also is on oxycodone 30mg 6x a day for over 2 years after some accidents at work. We were able to fill my boyfriends script without a problem two weeks ago and when we tried to fill mine on Monday it has been an absolute nightmare! We don't use this medication to get high by any means and I hate that so many people abuse it and ruin it for everyone else. But anyways there is a shortage all over Maryland, DC and Virginia. We visited at least 30 pharmacies over the last 3 days with no luck. I would at least like to know what's going on with the manufactring companies. It's not right for them to just cut everyone off, they at least need to offer up some kind of alternative for us.

But this has happened with other narcotic medications, for example the oxycotin that was changed so that the pills could not be injected or snorted. If that's the case and their changing the formula at least produce the current formula until we can be changed over.

We are so frustrated too and this is the first place we've found any information on this. At least we know we aren't alone and this seems to be a problem that is becoming widespread around our country.

Let's hope they resolve this soon or can give us some answers ASAP.

Folks, You need to do what I suggested. Get with the state leader of The American Pain Foundation In your State! I am a leader of FL., so I know M.D. has more than one. They are pain patients as well. Go to the website, seek your leader and start raising hell! There is NO shortage! The DEA is trying to stop pain management meds. I have a feeling they are wanting to push injections, spinal stimulators, pain pumps. Those things are not aways safe and do not last very long. They give relief for awhile but will fail. Also, your insurance companies will get milked. I'm telling you all this for your best interests. at the website, it will show you the country. Click on your state and you will get the email of your leaders. I am located in Tampa. You won't believe what happened to me today. I went for my appt. for my refill before Thanksgiving and my doctor was gone! closed down! I was very lucky this time, I found a doctor to take me right away. May be being a leader helped but was still very scary. I take the same med you take and I get my refills every month so far. I obtained mine by. Talking to the owner of a pharmacy that caters to seniors and pallitive care patients. I had a meeting with them. Needless to say, Today was day from hell. I wish all of you lots of luck and I hope you do as I suggested. It will help. Strength is in numbers and your leader needs your help. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Perhaps a switch to Opana30mg would be a good substitute provided that your Dr is willing. These are becoming more common all the time

Opana is not immediate release. It is extended release. Oxycodone is for breakthrough pain. A short acting opiate. I suggest dilauded 8 mg. but have to say that nothing seems work as well as oxy. That's why it's popular. Opana is good for for a main med, but everybody usually needs a rescue med for in between. there a few choices though. Talk to your doctor. Also, please read my prior post. I need all the Fl legitimate pain patients I can get to help fight for our Rights to appropriate, effective pain care. Good Luck

BOTH OF THEM ARE SHORT OR LONG RELEASE DEPENDING ON THE FORMULATION.

I too live in Florida and to no avail I have not been able to get .My Pharmacy has told me they are on allotment? I think this means if you have cash come on in. If the pharmacies only get 300 per week then they want to make as much $$ as possible..I found 1 pharmacy that will have them next week and guess what $4 per tablet and will not take my PPO insurance, which I pay a fortune for. I guess they feel if the dealers are making $$ then they too need to get in on the action at least thats what I hear..I live in central FL BTW..

I to reside in Tampa, and two days before Thanksgiving Day, went to pick-up my regular monthly, hard copy scripts, only to find that my Dr. was gone from the practice and re-located back to Oklahoma. The other MD in this practice reviewed my over 24 month patient of record files, notes, etc. and was told my current meds, will no longer be prescribed, and then had my existing hard copy scripts that I had rec'd future dated for a refill, confiscated. I had brought them into the office, as one of them hadn't been signed, and I stopped by the office for a quick signature, only to have this shiz occur. So now I have 3-4 days of meds left, and am scared of the looming withdrawl symptoms that are "on the way".
So now what? I am 40 y/o, great job, lots of responsibilities, not a drug seeking person that is Dr shopping, but have been made to feel like a dirty, scum-bag, drug addict. Not the case here. I have been under constant, monthly drug tests, blood work, MRI's, whatever my previous Dr ordered, I complied.
Never had a hic-up with FN around with my scripts, have had psychologist analysis, to make myself and Dr more comfortable in knowing I am a stable, responsible adult that fully understands the seriousness of having these scripts prescribed. Full disclosure to my Dr on everything. Everything has been on the up and up, but yet, I am banished from the office, feeling shamed by the entire office staff including receptionists, and the waiting room of 4-5 patients that heard all of this go down in the nurses station right inside the receptionist doorway to the back exam rooms. Very embarassing.
So my ? to you is, what new Dr in Tampa is taking new patients between Thanksgiving and the New Year? NOBODY IS AT ALL. Aside of my soon to come visit to the ER, has anyone got a suggestion of whom I might call. I have all my records, available for review. I just was to get better. These pills are just a temp resolve. But when is enough, enough. I am mostly upset that I was abandoned to fix this mess on my own. I don't want to go into cardiac arrest from "abrupt cessation". I have self started to titrate down my existing meds to hopefully ease into a lighter, less painful withdrawl, but I am just fooling myself I think.
Any ideas for me, anyone? Please. Thanks.
Chris in Tampa, Fl

Hi Again Donna,
I Googled American Pain...specific to Florida, and there are many, many offices of the same. Many appear as internet pharms, or some sort of copycat pill mill B.S.

Might you have a hyperlink you can post here or e-mail to me, so that everyone in this forum can be certain that the help you mention, specifically for Florida, can be reached. Thank You Donna. Many thanks indeed.

Chris from Tampa.

Im reading alot about withdrawls, i don't know if this is true, but I read about a drug called suboxone, which I beleive is given for detoxing in the office, or an office like setting. If possible perhaps you could go to a hospital and ask about this, I know this is a bad situation but please don't hurt yourslef and withdraw at home. I am sure there is a detox or something near you. Go to a major hospital in your area and ask for help. If you get a decent doctor he will help you or point you in the correct direction

Was this helpful? 0

Don't do suboxon program . If your a addict then your problem deal with it . But if u need them like me I was parolized before from a broken back if I don't have meds I will not be able to work or anything else and I can go on welfare I guess. But. I heard if u do that detox program its on your record and if u go to the hospital or anything they will never give u pain meds because you where addicted. So be carefully if u need your meds to get by in life like many war vets or or hurt while serving our country. So if u do that program its on your medical record and if u go in for anything they will give advil or tylonol for pain because u are a adict.

Please allow me to thank everyone for helping me to gain a better understanding of the current supply and demand issues, and of course the regulatory issues that affect such.

Chris,I did find the website for the American Pain Foundation, and e-mail address for the leaders of Florida,as follows:

The home address is: painfoundation.org/
The State leaders are: Connie Leon, PharmD, CPh (HCP)
[email protected]
Orlando, FL

Donna Ratliff, PWP
Lithia, FL
[email protected]

As I best understand the situation, in addition to dealing with the fact that we are at the end of the year and thus facing the brunt of the DEA quota. it appears that as a result of legislation enacted by the 2011 Legislature, Florida pharmacies also have a limit as to how many oxycodone tablets each pharmacy can get. Donna is right, there is strength in numbers, but it is just too late to do anything this year.Does anyone know anything about the new pharmacy limit?
You can also go to the website of the American Society of HealthCare Pharmacists @: ashp.org/DrugShortages/Current/

Also, the are two professional organizations in Florida that SOMEONE needs to contact (I can't do it all!):
flsipp.org/index.html
flspmp.com/
Amazingly, I now have TWO oxycodone prescriptions, but I am going to take the one I got issued last week back to the Doctor & get Diluadid or oxymorphone.

Oh Lord knows this is absolute torture!! I went to my drs appt today in such pain from these herniations, but also in withdrawal as my 4x a day dose ended 4 days ago!! I live in broward and had to forfeit m
HALF my script last month-- the dr decided to put me on morphine!! I am really scared to take that!!
My pharmacist told me that the fla D.A. Has stopped all deliveries, sales , etc-- I can't believe what's happened to our country either & just watch this creep get elected again

Once again- LOOK 'EM UP! You are getting the substance (oxycodone) mixed up with the DELIVERY. The little Oxycodones are immediate release. Oxycontin and whatever replaced it are SLOW release OXYCODONE!

Likewise: Opana. There is Opana ER (Extended Release and Opana plain. THEY are two different delivery systems (or formulations if you prefer) for the drug OXYMORPHONE!

Opana= brand name
Oxymorphone= substance which has been around for many decades.

Oxycontin= delivery system for oxycodone
Little oxycodone's are the SAME SUBSTANCE but immediate release, lower doses (usually).

Please get this straight. After all- informed patients know what they're getting and know how to open a discussion with their physicians. Confusion is something that allows one to be intentionally or unintentionally misinformed. EX: Not 1 out of ten out there realizes that Percocet is 5 mg oxycodone with tylenol (acetominophen, or APAP), just as Percodan was 5 mg oxycodone with aspirin.

Harm Reduction cannot be accomplished without getting informed and staying informed. An informed ADDICT is a safer addict. It's better all the way around to learn it, learn it right and keep learning.

Really there is no excuse for misinformation as addicts are most often SMART people. But you can stay ignorant through laziness. There is nobody in this discussion board without computer skills which includes a working knowledge of Google. So Google your substances; you will hurt yourselves much much less. Patients too: Look UP your meds. Know everything possible about them so you can take an active role in your own treatment!

With self education you have ammunition against someone who knows nothing but accuses you of being a hypondriac when in fact you have fibromyalgia
or some other little known chronic pain condition.

Hello everyone. I was on the same horrible pain meds as y'all. Here in fl, for many, many years. Do y'all realize that the more oxycodone you take, the lower your pain threshold gets. I know, does not matter now! Only matters to not feel sick, not feel desperate, in pain! I remember too well! I know what the nightmare feels like! I lived it! For far too long! Here's the answer -- no! Not stupid "meetings" or anything like that! It is online. It is called "The thomas recipe". We all have very strong minds. If you're sick of this crap yet, do the thomas recipe. You'll need to be strong, especially when "Tapering." but if I did it successfully, you can too! There's nobody I have heard of, read about, etc that took the extreme & outrageously high dosage I did! I never stuck a needle in my arm. I did not ever "abuse" it. I do not care if u did! You can still get out of this nightmare! I promise! I never once puked during withdrawal. I made up my mind I was not going to be the "99%" that does not quit forever! I was & am in extreme pain from a terrible accident. Nothing was/is worse than those evil pills! Yes! It takes a couple of years to feel totally "Normal" again! But I promise it is worth it! I didn't even follow all the "Rules" on the thomas recipe! Wish I had! I was as scared as you are! Likely more! I have never once "Craved" it, even during the worst times.

But, as I said, the "Worst" is not even bad, if you follow the recipe, especially the taper! I went through all this over & over again. (the "Shortages, running out before next appointment, etc.!) " for years & years! The pills "Turned" on me! Made me fat, miserable! I was outrageously overprescribed! You guys make me sad because I know how you all feel exactly! Please! Just try to do the thomas recipe. It's all over the place online! Costs nothing! And, just so yall understand, I have been right where you are & it does not have to be that way! I never have mentioned amounts to but will for you guys! I was taking over 2400 pills (yes. 30 mg roxy's) a month! Yup! Twenty four hundred. A month! Over that amount, actually. Its a miracle I am alive. I will be in debt forever from that! But I do not care because I am free! I did not make up the "Recipe" or "Method". I have no idea who did! Assume "Some guy" named "Thomas." but thanks to him or whomever did, I am f r e e! You can be too! Oh man it is worth it! No more scrounging around looking for my sickness fix! No more "Counting!" (awful!) no more waiting to not be sick! No! No! Never again!

Please! Just try! It's so worth it! I still drink. Still smoke ! But never ever will I ever take a pain pill again! I ruined my life, my kids life, & never thought I could be free. But I am! Never went to "Rehab!" never told anyone I was slowly quitting alone. At home. On my terms. In my time. "My" way (thomas' way, really!) but you get it! I am only posting this to help you all! I will have seven years freedom soon! Do not miss the crazy/sick/desperate feelings at all! Never ever "Crave". Not once! Imho- definitely keep excellent records of the a****** dr's prescribing you these meds! Especially if you're being insanely overprescrbed as I once was! I have not done anything as far as that goes, but should! It is all up to you & does not have to be hell! I swear! It is all in your power. It's just you have to decide if you are sick of this! If so, then please! Believe what I'm saying to you ! I am the 1%! And you can be too! There's a lot of room for us 1%ers! Especially when you think of how many of us have fallen victim to a stupid blue pill! If I help one person here, it will make me very happy! Good luck everyone & I hope I helped you!

No doctor will give you that amount. You would have gotten busted at the checks they have and would have gotten a visit from the authorities trying to see if you are a user, a seller or are involved in any dealer activities. Your doctor would have lost his/her license as well.

People actually have real diseases and conditions here who can only go through living thanks to Oxycodone. So go make up your stories elsewhere whatever your reason is for coming to these threads and trashing them with BS stories.

The pharmacies are still getting them. However they are giving it out to the clients whom they know and who are regulars. I've seen many people while waiting for mine to be filled who were told "sorry, we haven't received any in a long time". The numbers they are getting are very limited so they rather give it to their regulars as opposed to people they don't know. It also involves a lot of calls for new patients (confirmations, double checks, etc...) so it is also less work. They also rather give it to someone they know as opposed to having to tell the regular that they ran out after giving it to a new or one time patient. I was sent to another pharmacy as well to get some as mine were out and the manager was expecting me. However the manager wasn't there and the assistant who also had anger problems as well as anti-social traits, kept repeating to me over and over that they hadn't had any in a while despite me telling him I was sent here from another branch and was told to directly speak to the manager as he was expecting me. I wasted 25 minutes talkng to the guy and finally when the manager returned from lunch, he asked me to give him 15 minutes to fill the prescription. I waited the 15 minutes while the ass of an assistant kept staring me down, I got my Oxycodone and since then I haven't had to go back to that pharmacy. However my pharmacist just told me this month that they were told not to dispense over 90mg to anyone who was taking it long term as they were advised to tell them to take other drugs such as "morphine" or the patch !@! Yes, please give us the patch that is given to terminal patients, that's all we need. And this is coming from the state. They don't give a rat's ass about who needs what, all they care is to look good to the media.

I broke an ankle in 2002 which never healed. Couldn't afford meds and didn't want to pay for the ER, it took me 2 years to be able to walk again. The ankle still hurts but I have learned how to live with it even though I shattered it in multiple places and tore tendons and ligaments. My right calf was 28 inches whereas my left one was 41. And I made it through with over the counter pain pills even though the pain was unbearable. Aside for that, I was the type of person who does not even take aspirin. I also broke my L2 and L3 in the 80's and also took maybe 1 week's worth of vicodin and dealt with it with OTC pain killers while I was immobilized in a brace for 8 months.

I had a work injury in 2007 January, dislocated my left shoulder after a 500 pound machine fell onto my head and hit me. WC only authorized a "shoulder sprain" for which I had surgery due to the dislocation. My cervical got accepted 2 years later and I have 4 HNP with 3 annular tears where bone shards are pushing against the spinal cord and constricting the spinal cord. I have facet hypertrophy at 5 levels, stenosis, osteoarthritis, and all the other fun stuff that comes with injured discs. I also have bilateral cervical radiculopathy that prevents me from even cutting my own fingernails, I have no feeling in 3 fingers on one hand. I have bilater CTS as well as ulnar nerve entrapment somewhere between my neck and the left shoulder. I also ended up with post concussion syndrome resulting in tinnitus, migraine, and dizziness and giddiness (not accepted by WC). I have visible protrusions on my thoracic as well as my lumbar. I wasn't paid by WC for 4 years so I couldn't afford anything on my own and never had MRI's or anything else for those. I get ESI's and facet blocks twice a year and the facet blocks get followed by radiofrequency lesioning of the 6 cervical nerves (aka Ablation - 3 on each side). I get my facet blocks say in January but the ablation is rejected by WC. 30 days for a hearing 10 days for a decision, appeal by the opposite party, 60 days for appeals hearing, 15 days for decision and finally in June or July I am authorized for the ablation. But it's been too long since the facet blocks so I need new ones. Once in 4 times I was authorized, the other 3 times I had to spend another 6 months in court to get a decision so I had to wait a year to get the blocks followed by ablation. I need to get a spinal cord stimulator but they want me to be as pain free as I can before I can get it (meaning if my normal pain levels are 8 out of 10, they want me to have it at the lowest possible which is about 5-6 after ablation while on meds). So I have been taking 30mgx6 oxycodone, 2 Xanax to help me sleep and reduce anxiety as needed (I've been taking maybe half on a daily basis and maybe 2-3 times every 3-4 months, I may have to take 2 per day for 2-3 days). I have prilosec for my stomach since I have no appetite and so the pills don't screw up my stomach. I have Ibuprofen 800mgx2 (right now I am constantly taking it since I have no full relief without surgical intervention). I have Soma 350mgx4 and even though it helps sleep as well, it does nothing to me and helps my muscles relax as I have nasty tremors and spasms visible to the naked eye. Once a month or once every 2 months, I get a 6 day regimen of prednisone (6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 tab x 10mg).

I've been on this for 3 years. I'm totally dependent on the oxycodone as well as if I don't take it by 4.5 hours from my previous one, I start getting cramping in all my muscles as well as anxiety. The pain goes from 9-10 to 6-7 on pills and occasionally to 5 but in 3-3.5 hours the pain is back slowly and if I don't take the oxy by 5 hours, the next oxy does nothing to the pain and it gradually decreases by the time I am taking the next oxy. I make sure I don't take it before 4 hours and try to wait 4.5 hours between pills but sometimes I start cramping and literally feel as my heart is going to stop by the time I make it through another hour to the pill time (my BP is about 110/55, with HR 52-55 and at 4 hours after the oxy, I am at 150/60 and HR 90'ish).

I've been getting my oxy at the same supermarket pharmacy for 2+ years. It is like the pill mafia as they won't give it to ppl they don't know since all they get go to regular clients like me. They were out once and they had to send me to another store and it was like an initiation to a secret society. They said to say so and so sent me and this is what I need. I go there, there is a tech. I want the manager and he won't let me speak to her. I explan my situation and he tells me they don't have any oxy. After about an hour the manager came out and after I explained myself I was able to get my refills but the tech was still giving me the evil eye. My pharmacy sometimes doesn't have it so they have a stash for emergencies and will give me enough for 4-5 days untli the shipment arrives.

They called me last week and said they weren't going to be able to fill my 180 and that most they could do was 120. The reason is that the state told them they were going to take harsher measures and that if their names came up on the system that they would not lose their license but also get arrested. The scandal last year with pill mills and Walgreens spread and now there are about 30 Walgreens in the state without med licenses and being sued with their pharmacists arrested. She said she wanted to avoid that and that it was directly told to them to tell me and similiar patients to ask the doctors to "change the pills and take them in conjunction with other pills" for long term care patients. I am not a long term care patient but thanks to WC screwing everything up, I am considered a long term pain management patient since nothing gets done on time. I asked my doctor if I can get something else or if I can lower it and he said "ABSOLUTELY not". We had tried the time release ones and they had not worked, the body drained those too fast. I even wake up in the middle of the night with all the pills I am taking and have to take my oxycodone. I slept 2 hours on Monday night last week, had a Tuesday morning appointment and since no ablation was authorized, I ended up with 42 trigger point shots covering my whole back (12 units of injections) and started my prednizone which also keeps me up normally. I could not sleep until Thursday morning around 9-10 am. The doc says he can't give me anything else until they can get my ablation and put me on an SCS so that they can reduce the pills but the DEA and state threaten to arrest my pharmacist. I asked her why they don't do anything to the doctors and her reply was "they get a slap on the hand but they say 'we are the pain specialists and we should know what is too high for our patients' and therefore they arrest us instead of the doctors because doctors are 'so busy that they can make mistakes in prescribing the wrong amounts'". What a croc of .... And the sad thing is the state is telling them to take oxycodone with the time realsed ones or morphine. I don't want to take 3 separate pills that have a chance to counteract with each other with all sorts of possible effects when my body is used to what I am taking now with NO SIDE EFFECTS. I also get my testosterone levels checked which they say will drop with long term usage of oxy but those are normal as well. At least once a month (sometimes 2 or 3) I get urine tested and the test is 1700 dollars to the WC insurer since it is very specific and looks for oxy only. It is MANDATORY in Florida. They can tell the exact dosage I took in the past 72 hours and if there are ANY VARIATIONS, they are supposed to cut you off or the physician gets in trouble. I have not failed the test once, I can't even leave my house except doctor's appointments and now they want to take away the only thing that provides me some sort of relief.

So right now I got my monthly 180 but starting next month, I have no clue wtf I am going to do.

OXYCODONE STORY BY Randy F

This is my story....

Where to start... other than this so called miracle drug is seriously the worst prescription "medical drug" in the world thisÂMedication is the DEVIL... HANDS DOWN. I personally have been on oxycodone and in massive daily dosages of anywhere from 350/mg-500/mg PER DAY! I had a bad accident on November 21st of 2011 and have been going through hell this past 8 months trying to overcome this drug addiction I didn't even know I had.. my doctor just kept on increasing my daily dosage ignorant seemed like every few weeks it was going up about 80/mg for about 3 months till there was a point I was talking 400-500/mg a day. So long story short I had just got called to work.. I work away from home and I only had about 12 days worth of my pain meds left (didnt realise at the time i had work and my son on my mind hes three years old) and it was a long weekend I didn't even think about getting more not knowing or realising that I would end up running out while about 13 hours from my doctor, so as the days went on I started to realise that I only had a few days of medication left before I was out, so I just continued to stay in camp working and I was just going to try to suffer and bare the pain for the last 4 or 5 days till I was home to see my doctor... so the following morning I woke up with the worst sickness, body aches and pains I had ever experienced in my life... x 1000 (the sickest I've ever ever been I didn't think it was possible for a human to feel this train wreak like in my life) so I just did my regular thing that morning and went time work trying not to act sick or anything I had a great job an I didn't want to lose it... that night I was so sick and so sore and in so much pain I thought my heart was going to explode with flu like symptoms, hot and cold sweats, shaking, extreame anxiety attacks, stroke like symptomes as well!!! So as usual as I always do I went onto Google and looked up the oxycodone withdrawals and so on.. and I Came across a post to get to the doctors ASAP or you could possibly stop breating and every symptom I felt was listed !!!! I packed my bags as fast as possible got into my truck and put it to the floor, then as heading out of town I GOT on my cell and called 911 to ask about my condition.. long story short my doctor had given me enough medication in one day to kill about ten full grown men, and I'm talking taking this about on a day to day basis.. without the meds my body will shut down and I will stop breathing at this amount of mg a day and just up and stop taking them... this was about two weeks ago I was taking anywhere from 350-500/mg a day depending on how sick I'd feel in just as little as a few weeks I'm down to 250-300/mg a day (taking the meds to not be sick and die at this point) also when this had taken place i was getting pretty big into bodybuilding my weight when i was at the hospital was 245 all natural very big and about 6% bf, in just the short time of 6 months after the "accident i call it" i had wittled away to nothing i went down to 155 lbs i was devastated i lost five years of working out before my eyes this stuff is the devil it honestly is the worst feeling in the world yes it is going to be hard to overcome but you can do it stay strong and you will become stronger as the days go on there is hope for you and anyone reading my post it has touched your heart or opened your eyes about this terrible " F***ING MEDICATION" P.S IM VERY SORRY FOR THE LANGUAGE and I hope my story is helpful and you have learned something, please be careful don't take your dosage down to fast as it takes a while even some people up to a year and a half to be "clean" also keep loved ones and family very close tell them what is going on and mention they go to some meetings to learn more about what your going through because from personal experience with my family I literally shut them out of my life because they had no IDEA WHAT YOUR GOING THROUGH!!!!! BE SURE TO TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT YOUR PLANS TO COME DOWN WITH YOUR DOSAGE. IF YOU FEEL THEY ARE NOT HELPING YOU TO THE BEST OF THERE ABILITY PLEASE FIGURED ONE WHOM CARES ABOUT what YOUR GOING THROUGH THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!! I wish you the best of luck you can do it :) may gods blessings be with you!! Good luck everyone and take care and one day when your back to yourself life will be so bright and happy! Thanks for reading yours truly Randy!!!!! Also if you have any personal questions about anything along your journey to one day becoming clean or a loved one needs hl.p. and you have questions don't have hesitation! :) best of luck everyone

I am not trying to fly; although it would be nice since it is all I can do to walk! With failed surgeries and surgeries that are pending, I can not get the medication oxycodone that is prescribed by my doctor! What do they expect us to do? I believe much of the problem here in Florida has to do with the Wallgreen distribution center being closed down as well as a couple of the CVS pharmacies all in the last couple of weeks.. In my case I filled all my medications at Wallgreens; so whose fault is it that I can not get my medication? I have done nothing wrong so I sure dont see it as my fault! Wallgreen on the other hand is doing nothing to help those of us that they use to fill for find other sources for our medication which they have been unable to get since their distribution center was closed down! I believed for a long time that our oxycodone problems had to do with pill mills and addicts. The latest developments however prove that diversion is coming many times from the very top! My question is ..... how many have been arrested for their actions and what kind of sentence will they receive?
