Adderall Backorder (Page 42)

I take generic Adderall 20 mg for narcolepsy and there is not one local pharmacy that has it in stock. I have never had this problem before. The pharmacies are saying that it's on backorder from the manufacturer. Is anyone else having problems getting their scripts filled?

Of course they are not going to give you that information. They have to be extremely careful with that information. I am shocked Teva gave you the info they did. That is why it is best to talk to the pharmacist you deal with every month.

Generic Adderall has been on back order for a couple weeks in Los Angeles. I read that there’s a national shortage and that the drug companies don’t expect things to get back to normal until January 2022. :(

More than a class action there's gonna be alot of malpractice suits…I haven't seen the back order bs since last year. It’s always twice or 3x a year. If you get a certain brand they have to get it for you.

There are no grounds for class action suits or malpractice suits. Each year the DEA decides how much Schedule II active ingredients manufacturers will be given the next year. When that runs out that is it until Jan 1 of the next year. Each year the DEA has reduced the amounts more and more and 2022 is no different.

Where are you Louisiana ppl filling addys at because I called every Walgreens I’m the southern part of Louisiana & they were all out! I’m in Lafayette, LA they’ve been out for 2 months & I only like the Teva brand. Smaller pharm had other brands but they won’t order the Teva because they say it’s way higher in price than the other brands & they wouldn’t make money on it. It’s crazy!

Having trouble filling in Michigan as well - metro Detroit area. The Walgreens I fill at has not had the generic IR adderall 30 mg since September. I had to temporarily switch to a Walmart that has them, but they too are having trouble getting it. Last two times I filled, they were out that day and I had to wait until they had another delivery. It’s unbelievable really. The lack of transparency is probably the most frustrating part. No one has answers as to why there’s a shortage. I’ve been on this stuff since I was 15. I’ll probably be on it for the rest of my life. This has been a massive disruption. I legitimately cannot get my work done. I have seriously considered trying to buy online from rogue pharmacies because I simply don’t know if I’m going have to go without it for an extended period of time. Thankfully January is right around the corner.

Can you provide a link or article discussing this reduction in active ingredients? I thought my medication has been reduced in potency over the past few years, but I always chalked it up to tolerance since I have been on it for 15 years. It’d be nice to know I’m not crazy haha.

From what I read, the DEA is only reducing the quota for stimulants by 1.66% - it doesn’t seem like a decrease that small would impact supply like this.

I also heard that the shortage could be due to some manufactures no longer manufacturing drugs like generic adderall. I think one manufacturer stopped in like mid-summer.

Yes there are grounds for suit! Walgreens knowingly took new Rx orders for adderall when they could not fill my Rx order that has been there over a week. But since they make more money off of a new customer, who’s gonna get their Rx filled first?? Their responsibility is to fill my meds and if they cannot then they should not accept it from my doctor!

Chill out, lady. Pharmacies don’t make more money by filling “new customers’” prescriptions, whatever that means. Your insurance decides what percentage the pharmacy pockets. And do you really think the techs back there filling your scrip care whether one scrip makes Walgreens more money than another? They’re just workers trying to get through their day. I’m guessing you probably hear this a lot, but it bears repeating: NOT EVERYTHING IS ABOUT YOU.

Exactly!Theres something else going on at my local Walgreens cause know they have to do a little more work for adderall to get filled! Something about “flex”. Not sure if it’s a program or some time of lockbox but she said flex gets the script from doctor and they have to wait on flex!! Took 9 hours to get my script yesterday! 3 trips to Walgreens!! I do have enough and next month I will switch pharmacies!!

Well if that’s the case then doctors should stop writing Rx for adderall! That is just ridiculous!! How can they keep getting away with this! Why prescribe medication for years and without warning, after very dependent on it just STOP!

Why should doctors stop writing prescriptions for Schedule II medications ? The DEA setting quotas is nothing new. Did you comment and explain the problem you have had getting your Adderall

Yeah I’ve been having problems as well with getting my 15mg adderall filled by CVS in Mass. The past 3 months every time I go in to fill my 15mg dose, I am told that it is on back order while my 5mg dose has always been in stock (Different manufacturers). I never had any problems with CVS until 3 months ago.
