I live in Chicago, Illinois and I have been on Oxycodone 30mg for 3 years. My doctor retired and I haven't been able to find a doctor since to prescribe them. Can you help me and give me a doctors name that will prescribe this medication in the Chicagoland area...

Hello Chicago, I'm born and raised in Chicago well a suburb (Arlington Hts.) I have been on opiate pain killers for 20 years. I don't know where in Chicago you are but if you are willing to drive to Mt. Prospect, Ill I will give the name of my doctor. I started with her father 20 years ago now I see his daughter. I'm on very heavy narcotics it started semi low and has increased over the years. I started on Tylanol #3 went to Vicodin 5s then to 10s then to oxycodone and on to fentanyl with break thru meds. She has no problem writing for meds there are signs on the backs of every exam room door that say " We treat pain pro-actively " she has told me many times that " If I'm not managing your pain" I'm not doing my job. No doctor can remove your pain but if you can find one that will manage your pain aggressively you will get your life back. I'm on 15 100mcg patches/mo, 150 oxycodone ir/mo for break thru and 60 OxyContin 80mg er/mo. Now I know that my case is probably an extreme one but everyone I have sent to her has regained their normal life. She by far is the very best doctor I have ever been to. Tell her what works for you without worrying about looking like a seeker she does not look at you like that nor is she scared of the DEA. Her, her father and her husband all practice out of that office and any one of them will take care of you. I know that your post is old and don't know if you have found a doctor yet but I will give you her name anyway. Good Luck! Dr. Valerie Flaco 3457 Medical Park Dr. Arlington Hts. Illinois. 60056. (847) 359-1200

Hi Ann. I am also having a problem finding a new doctor in the Chicagoland area that will prescribe my Oxy IR. I've been seeing my current doctor for 2 1/2 years. I have referred her lots of business and always make sure I have a zero balance with her. Not only has she lost her bedside manner, but every month, the wait time in her office has increased. My last appointment with her, I waited for 4 HOURS! She has also billed my insurance for a TENs unit and braces that I never received. I became disabled due to my illnesses and I'm now on Medicare. I'm extremely frustrated and need to find a doctor that I can trust. Please let me know if you can help in any way.

Thank you

If you're located in the Chicago area, I would check out the Northshore/Skokie Pain Clinic. They are a part of Northsore Hospital off Gross Point (by Old Orchard Mall) in a Skokie. Dr. Blum should be able to help. Their phone # is (847) 933-6974. Best of luck!

I'm also looking for a new doctor, as mine has retired & he had been my prescribing Dr for 6 years. I'm not asking for a "dirty" doctor or pill mill - I've tried over a dozen pain doctors, all of which say they "don't prescribe opioids here" or "go to the VA if you're a veteran!" (I tried once, after waiting 6 hours & getting nowhere, the staff at the VA said that I'd have better luck at a civilian clinic. I understand the DEA is coming down hard on doctors, but I'm only asking for somebody to take a legitimate patient.

I am simply looking for a doctor to pick up where my old left off, to be clear. I have imaging, copies of Rx & medical history etc... but because of my HMO, I'm being turned down everywhere. Nobody will even hear me out, as if I'm a criminal, the second they hear an opioid of any kind.

I take OxyContin for my three fractured vertebrae & also have chronic sciatica. I have been told multiple times, that I'm this lucky to not have been paralyzed. This has left me with severe lifelong pain, as shown in my file. So why are they playing hot potato with me?

I'd also like to mention, I've never been arrested, never had trouble at any pharmacy or with a pharmacist. I've been prescribed these medications for the past 6 years, without any issue. My doctor has just retired & cannot find a replacement doctor in Chicago. Do not want a "pill mill" or "dirty doc" - asking for legitimate references / referrals only.

Hi. I am also having a problem finding a doctor that will prescribe my Oxy IR. My current doctor is billing my insurance for TENS units and braces that I have not purchased or received. After waiting in her office for 4 HOURS, I got upset and told her I was finding a new doctor. She said that I wasn't going to be able to find a doctor that would prescribe what she's giving to me. I've been seeing her for 2 1/2 years and have also referred her lots of business. I always make sure that I pay my bill on time and have a zero balance. But, her practice has grown and she has lost her bedside manner. Can someone please let me know of a doctor in the Chicagoland area that will meet my needs?

Hello, I also, looked your Doctor up on the Internet and I could not find anything about Dr Valerie Flaco in Arlington Heights. I to am in the situation like so many. The last Doctor I was seeing, dropped me as a patient and told me that I had came up positive for H. THIS IS AN OUTRIGHT LIE! On my last visit, when I was waiting inline to get my script, the Dr. tapped me on my shoulder to follow him into his office. I followed him and he said that he would love a massage. So I kind of took it as a joke, and as I started to laugh and was going to massage his neck just a little joking around now mind you. He looked at me and then said, I need a massage but not there, and pointed to his crotch. Now I have known this doctor for many many years, he was the main doctor of the clinic in River Grove, where I was seeing Dr. Demorest there. His boss was Dr. Giachinno which is the same doctor that wanted a massage from me. Now the doctor that is working with Dr. G is Dr. Madison. Dr. G told me on the phone about my UA, when I said OMG I cant believe this, I thought at first he was joking. He said that Dr. Madison will not see me anymore nor will he write me a script for a couple of weeks, until I find another doctor. He also said no when I asked him to refer me to another doctor. He said there is no doctor that will see me with this in my record.... and the reason why, is because he is lying about my test results. He is just getting back at me for not putting on act he wanted from me. PLEASE IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME TO FIND ANOTHER PAIN DOCTOR IN CHICAGO OR THE SURROUNDING SUBURBS, I WOULD APPRECIATE HEARING FROM YOU!
