Doctors Willing To Prescribe Pain Meds In Maryland

I am a mother of 3 on medical assistance and have had trouble getting any help with my pain. I've been to several family doctors looking for help but because of this drug epidemic, they treat you like a drug addict and shew you out the door. They don't want to help and don't trust a thing you say. They look at an xray and mri and if there is no obvious sign ofl breakage, fracture or whatever else they look for, they don't trust a word you say. I deal with pain everyday of my life and severe migraines at least once a month and the doctors here are so in fear and are so use to dealing with drug addicts, that they offer no help. I am so tired of going through pain and need help in finding a more understanding doctor, willing to help someone who does not have a slipped disk or whatever it is they look for on mris. Does anyone know of a doctor who is not so jadded by the states problem? Someone who might know what my problem is and not try to pin me as a drug addict looking for a high?

Have you considered seeing a pain management specialist?

There are several excellent doctors in that expertise in MD, but I don't know if they are in your area.

They usually have a better understanding of the conditions that cause someone to experience pain and are much more willing and able to help than a general practitioner.

I recently lost my pain management doctor and I'm in need of a new one. I have been taking 10mg oxy and 800mg ibuprofen, 4 times a day, for years because that is the highest they would prescribe. Previously I was on 20s 3 times a day but the new doc would only go as high as 10s. Anyway, I need a new doctor in the Baltimore - Annapolis area of Maryland. I have a recent MRI confirming degenerative disc disease and ruptured discs, previous back surgery, etc. I'm just tired of being treated like a drug seeker when that's not the case. I never run out early from taking too much, never ask for early refills and have years of clean U/A's to prove I'm not abusing. I'm just tired of being treated like I am but I have a very active life and a physically demanding job and the pain slows me down considerably and I'm so frustrated and it's leading to depression. Any leads on patient friendly pain management clinics in my area?
