The doctor is in Columbia South Carolina not Charleston just to make that clear. Frustrating as hell waiting there forever and nothing run smoothly but it'll probably get what you want. He charges some money up front I believe and he takes insurance cuz that's how he really makes a killing. He charges the hell out of Medicaid and insurance companies where doctors visit. That's why I don't understand why the guy in Charleston doesn't take insurance Dr Marshall Allen White. The guys a real egotistical maniac... From a doctor. Really? He knows he has you by the whatever and you're going to pay him or he'll tell you to get lost. They got on to him I believe and he was happy to get rid of me because he was writing a lot I'm at the dump I mean 450-600 a month! Could give a damn about his patients just doesn't even say a word when you walk into his office just writes the script and hand it to you and you're out the door. I think he's been looked at though over the past year and he's trying to get by with charging people 450 and $500 to get in the door and charge $150 or $160 a visit hoping that you'll be happy with 60 Percocets!!!!

It's a damn shame cuz Charleston's got so many good doctors but they just will not give out scripts in this town. I mean I'm banged up serious car wreck two years ago broken knee caps and broken fingers and knuckles and torn tendons and so forth bad back for 30 years and you can't find anybody all right to pain meds it's crazy. You could try a Dr. Rashard in West Ashley. Just another weird situation. This guy will take your insurance but you're going to have to pay $500 up front. And this is where it gets weird. He's I think a preacher or he really loves Jesus not to knock him on that but he's forcing it on his patient. I mean the guy makes you come up with questions from the Bible every time you see him he prays for you hold your hand at the end of the visit. You'll be in there for a while so if you have a real job that's far away from the end of 526 and Savannah highway be prepared to sit in his office for at least 2 hours on the first visit. I was there for almost 4 :00. But once you get in there on the next visit I was in and out of there in about an hour and 15 minutes. There are no hurry. But they take insurance and they will give you a U/A and send it off to a lab. Before they were just doing their own evaluations with a dipstick. So goodbye cannabis and tasty THC oil. It's a damn shame too because it's the only thing that gets me to sleep at night. I got to sleep and I reclining chair and Ambien don't do anything for me but a few hits off of pure Indica oil and I'm sleeping like a baby.

Come on South Carolina, if you're not going to dish out the medicine at least legalize herbs that everybody's starting to understand is not harmful to anybody. It's not addictive and it's been proven over and over again. Well at least two harder drugs... I don't know? I guarantee one thing I go through a lot of festivals like the big Atlanta 420 Festival and there's not a fight or an incident no problems whatsoever just a lot of people happy smoking kind, friendly in the fights with that many people packed in the one place. I think our roads could use some rebuilding! If we're not going to give out hydrocodone and Percocet pills then at least let patients that really need something Get some cannabis or at least give out some dummies with 10 or 15 mg of THC in it. You can go to the other legit doctors and hope you get something but they're going to make you Get shots all the time and do all those stupid things that don't work over the past many years. I know how to take care of my back with yoga and a yoga ball but when I'm pinching a nerve I have to go to the ER to get a numbing shot or else it's the most miserable thing you can experience. Imagine having your worst toothache ever somewhere in your lower back between L3-S1. iPad microscopic surgery I've had bigger surgeries where you are move a big chunk of the disc but I'm avoiding fusion at all cost. I'm only 46 and I'd like to be able to turn left and right. Plus the nightmare stories I've heard from people. But I've also heard people having good results that are just fusing a couple discs.

I do know if you are feeling horrible and withdrawing you can go two MUSC the department of psychology and speak to Dr Bart who is the head of the department and an addiction specialist and she has got some serious credentials!!! She's really nice and she's down to earth so don't try to bulls*** her and she is offering a program where she will give you free Suboxone if you're willing to do some surveys and just kind of give her results on how you're feeling and how it's working out. But make sure you are withdrawing bad or else you're going to be absolutely miserable. So anyways you got Dr marshmallow and White in Mount Pleasant You got doctor Rashard in West Ashley. Dr Rashad will make you pay for your U/A if you don't have insurance every month and I think it's $75. Just ridiculous you know if you have a clean run of a year or more you think they could evaluate you every other month at least to help you financially. Charleston's expensive enough as it is. Good luck to everyone and I hope this helps. Sorry if some of this looks horrible, I don't go back and look at the mistakes too much.

Re: Charityoniel (# 72) Expand Referenced Message

Go see Dr. Aburoo he is just past downtown headed east. He will take your insurance. Wait forever to get in to see him but he was giving me opana instant & Opana 40 ER. I think it was 60 or 90 each. This was about 7 years ago. But he's still there. That's how I would spell the name but if you search the internet and put in that name and it was called like Midland pain management.....

I was in a lot of car accidents and don't want surgery. I have migraines, hand pain from arthritis and carpal tunnel. My jaw is crooked and I have teeth pain. My whole spine hurts. I need to be put back on my meds (30 mg oxycodone and 10mg hydrocodone). Can anyone recommend a doctor in Summerville SC or surrounding areas?

Re: keikee (# 77) Expand Referenced Message

They just don't want to bother with insurance when people will fork over cash. They have something worked out with the drug lab (mouth swab) I believe because they always have no problem billing my insurance company for about $700 for the drug panel. They tell me that I didn't have to pay the $129.00 that my insurance wouldn't cover "because they have something worked out with the lab." Which turns out to be correct.... without ruining your credit. It just shows that it was denied for about 6 months and then it will eventually say the the amount I owe is now ZERO dollars.

You will just need to pay $185 every month and the $450-$500 for the INITIAL visit and then $185 every month with follow up visits. The doctor won't try to do steroid shots which is nice. He just writes your scripts and you are out of there in 5 minutes.

Re: shady33 (# 76) Expand Referenced Message

Is this a new clinic not processing insurance until their credentialing is complete or is this a facility that never expects to bill insurance? Those cheek swab drug panels are SO expensive. Are you required to pay cash for that too?

Re: Jessica (# 18) Expand Referenced Message

Hello. If you want to fork over $450-$485 forn the first visit and then $185 per visit every month....you could go to Mt. Pleasant to see Dr. Marshall Allyn White. No insurance accepted and they will swab test you every 3 or 4 months. I was getting methadone from him but some get percs and roxi's although he is getting scared to write roxi 30's. That is why I left. He can be a moody as hell too. I hope this helps everyone looking for a Dr. near Charleston, SC. Good luck!!!

Try Piedmont pain maneg in Anderson and Greenville or Pain Care Assoc. They have offices all over state. Both are good Doctors offices.

Re: lis (# 6) Expand Referenced Message

SC pain management in North Charleston is a good doctor. Dr. Tavel has been treating me since 2006. He is near Trident hospital. He will prescribe pain medicine if needed but is not a doctor who just writes whatever the patient wants. He gives drug panels regularly to make sure medicine is not misused.

I will moving to North Augusta, South Carolina. I go to pain management am looking for a great pain management Doctor who will prescribe 20mg oxycodone for breakthrough pain and 30mg oxycotin for all day. My doctor I have been going to for years is great. Except lately trying to cut me back because of CDC. I finally have something that works for me and now taking away. I'm so under medicated at moment. Went from being pretty active to sitting in my wheelchair. I'm so disgusted at the government getting involved in my life and telling me what I should take for the chronic pain I have to live with. I'm not a drug addict, nor do I abuse my medication, but I'm treated like one. I just want a better quality of life. Isn't that what pain management is for? I have osteoarthritis in my whole body. Neuropathy in my left foot. I had a knee replacement that didn't go well, now I can't bend at all and my knee is inverting which has thrown out my hip and lower back and I'm taller on that side. I put a huge amount of stress on my other leg with muscle spasms. If anyone knows if a doctor who will help me in Augusta SC please help. Won't be moving for about 4 months. Or how I can get my Doctor now to stop cutting me back? I go to PT and pass all urine screening. I'm at my wits end. All the government is doing is putting more people on the street and I really don't want to go there.
