anyone else having this problem? I looked on the internet and can't see that it's been banned. ## Hello, Cricket! How are you? What reason are they giving you for not filling it? Ketoprofen is classified by the FDA as being a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. ## Hi. Yeah, I've had the same problem. My pharmacy says that their suppliers can't get ketoprofen. The Pharmacist can't get any answers as to why ketoprofen isn't available either. I am allergic to opiates, and other NSAIDs I've tried don't work anywhere as effectively as ketoprofen. So, this is a real problem for me. I would re...

I'm cleaning out my medicine cabinet and came across this old RX (cream). It doesn't say what it is for. Can ypu tell me what this RX is used for? ## Hi Suzanne, Based on my research, I believe the abbreviations you mentioned are supposed to correspond with the following list of medications: Ketoprofen (Keto), Baclofen (Baclo), Cyclobenzprine (Cyclo), and Lidocaine (Lido) Apparently the cream itself is meant to be used for inflammation and pain. However, I am unsure of what "Flurb" is supposed to stand for. Do you have any other clues as to what this particular ingredient may be? ## Flurbiprofen is a NSAID that has been available since 1988. It is rarely prescribed in oral form as it has been known to cause spikes or fluctuations in blood pressure and reduces the effecti...

DermaTran compounds a cream that I use to help with my arthritis. This is the only cream that I have used and gotten relief. It costs me $60 a tube and I am 92 yrs old and live on Social Security. The VA says they can not help me and I need some help in lowering the cost. A tube lasts me about 2 months. ## Hello, John! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem that you're having. However, DermaTran is a chain of compounding pharmacies, which means what you're getting isn't actually a specific name brand medication, so there is no assistance available for it. I wish I had better news for you, but unfortunately, I don't. The only suggestion I can make is to check with other compounding pharmacies in your area and see if they may offer a cheaper price. Does anyone else...

I recently got keto/lido/cycl cream that was prescribed to me because a year ago I got whiplash from a car accident and it still hasn't gone away. I was wondering whether or not I could use the cream with a heating pad as for I use the pad alot? The cream is exactly 10% ketoprofen 6G, 4% lidocaine 2.4G, and 1% cyclobenzaprine 0.6G. I would very much appreciate anyone who could answer me. Thank you! ## Hi Jessica, thank you for bearing with me as I did not have a chance to reply back to your other thread. Because there is Lidocaine in the cream I would avoid using a heating pad unless you can get an okay from your doc or the compounding pharmacist. I read on a page from drugs.com about the Lidoderm patch (which is basically another topical form of Lidocaine, but administered through ...

keto/gaba/lido/amit 30 gm is what I got and the second day I used it I had terrible diarrhea and my eyes had a foggy look when I tried to see. Also does this effect the nerve in the brain because I am off balance a lot? I am almost afraid to use it. Why doesn't this web site give some of the side effects? ## Hello, Omie! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you've had. The reason the side effects aren't listed anywhere is because this a specialty compounding product. It isn't something that's standardly available at any pharmacy and the ingredients can vary from doctor to doctor, depending on what they feel will best help their patients. Specifically, the ingredients in this one are Ketoprofen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory; Lidocaine, which is a...

My mom is having some pain in her second toe from her toenail getting snagged from inside of her sock, because she drags her right foot from a stroke she is still recovering from 2 years ago. Is it okay to try a little Ketoprofen Lidocaine for her sore toe? ## It would be best not to try anything, without her doctor's approval. Though it is topical, there is still a slight risk of there being interactions, or complications with other medications she may be taking. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including headache, skin redness, irritation, and dryness. What other medications is she taking?

I bought this cream in Russia what is it? ## Hi Max, Unfortunately I haven't come across any specific details on "Ketohan". However, rumor has it that the English term for this cream actually goes by "Ketonal" instead and perhaps that's why information wasn't turning up in search results: Discuss/Ketohan-245054.htm Apparently the letters just happen to look like "Ketohan" in Russian writing, but this is only based on one other person's opinion in the thread linked above. At any rate, Ketoprofen is reportedly the active ingredient (or generic name rather) for this product called Ketonal. Ketoprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug used for treating pain and inflammation. Does this sound like a possible match?

Hi, I've been taking 75mg Ketoprofen with One 50 mg Tramadol for quite some time for back and knee pain, once or twice a day with pretty good results. I just tried getting my Ketoprofen refilled at Sam's Club, and was told the're not making it any more, and the pharmacist called Walmart and they had none either. Does anyone know if ALL makers of ketoprofen have stopped, or just the brand name Companies? No other nsaid works nearly as well, so my fingers are crossed! ## Hi Rick, Sorry to hear about your situation. From what I could gather, Ketoprofen's other trade names (Nexcede, Orudis, Oruvail, Actron) are all reported to be discontinued brands. However, I haven't come across any official announcements confirming that Ketoprofen itself has been taken off the market....
