E 281 white oval pill

White oval pill with E and then 281, it's supposed to be Metoprolol but they are smaller than the other ones I had before. ## The size of a tablet is only dependent on what filler/inactive ingredients the manufacturer has decided to us in the production formula, and the medication dosage, so pill sizes can differ from one manufacturer to another. The tablet with the E 281 marking was manufactured by Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, and they listed it as containing 25mgs of Metoprolol, which is commonly used to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions. NDC: 00185-0281 This tablet has been discontinued. Ref: Medline Plus Metoprolol The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, hypotension, and increased urination. Is there anything I...

Metoprolol withdrawal

i've been taking metoprolol for several years as partial treatment for high blood pressure. through diet and exercise, i've lowered my BP to the point my doctor says drop the metoprolol. i did, 3 days ago, and i'm soooo tired, dizzy, irritable, and my vision is blurred. is this withdrawal? how long will it last? i remember starting this medication was terrible to get used to. it appears that stopping it is just as bad. ## I am experiencing the same thing and I am tapering off of the metoprolol. I have only been on for a couple of months and now the withdrawal is just as bad. I am down to 12.5 mg two times a day. It is tough. ## it went away after a week or so. i feel great now, and my BP and heart rate have risen slightly, but thats the reason we stopped it. i've lost en...

white round pill m18. white round pill c73

I have a recent prescription for metoprolol. To get me started, the nurse gave me some she had in stock that had m18 on it. The prescription I received in the mail has c73 on it. This site has descriptions for each which seem different to me but both are described as metoprolol. Are these really the same prescription drugs with the same active chemical analysis? ## Hi, Lee! And yes, they certainly are the same medication. Metoprolol is actually a generic, so it's manufactured by several different companies and they all have to use different markings on their tablets to enable them to be identified and traced back to them, in case of an emergency. The way they look is entirely up to their whit and whim, there are no constraints on that, as long as they used the inactive ingredients t...

metoprolol succ er 50mg

This is a white large oval tablet with a slpit on one side down the middle and 369 on the other side. The Mfr. is ETHEX CORP. I'm taking Toprol XL 50 mgs. for my heart. I have Bicuspid Aortic Valve Disease and arrythmias. I got my prescription filled today. I have never been given this type of tablet before and I'm afraid to take it. My pharmacist is closed now and I take this medicine every night. Please tell me what you may think that it is. Do you think that it's a generic for Toprol? I think that once I got a generic for it and it didn't look like this. Please email me back and let me know. Thank You so much. ## What is the exact, complete imprint? ## I too have been prescribed this same pill in place of Toprol XL 50mg. This is a 'horse pill' by comparison be...

Metoprolol for heart palpitations

I was having heart palpitations and the dr suggested I see a cardiologist for them. 4 days before I saw her I was having episodes of them along with some chest pain and at one time blue nails. It all subsided now. My pulse rate and BP were good but because heart disease runs in the family she put me on metoprolol 25 mg split in 2 doses and told me to go to the hospital if my pulse went down to 60. It did, so I went to the hospital, had all tests done and everything was normal. They even gave me an angiogram with no problem there, but my pulse continued to fluctuate between the low 40s to 50s. My primary stated she gave you this for heart palpitations and to get off of it now. She did something wrong and she never told me why I needed to go to the hospital if my pulse went down to 60. Th...

8333 white tablet

What is a white tablet marked on 1 side and nothing on the other side? ## Hello, Ronald! How are you? What is the marking on it? I can't find a listing for anything with just these numbers on it. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you! ## Metoprolol 200 mg for blood pressure ## I agree that it is possibly Metoprolol. However, the official marking contains a logo with a score line and then the number 833 instead of 8333 as far as I can see. (NDC 62037-833) Ref: DailyMed Another possibility is a white tablet with the marking A333 (where the letter A could be misconstrued as the number 8). This tablet does not have a score line on it, and contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen 10/325. (NDC 0228-2983, now discontinued). Which tablet do you have? Does it have a score line?

metoprolo er suc 50 mg

My husband takes metoprolo 50mg the pill my mail order has always sent was an oval white pill, this time they sent a small round white pill, scored on one side and 50 m on the other side. I just wondered if this was the wrong pill. ## what is this pill: small, flat, round, white, 10 on one side, g 1640 on other side. ## The tablet described with the M 50 marking is manufactured by Par Pharmaceutical, and they list it as containing 50mgs of Metoprolol, so it is the same medication, just manufactured by a different company. NDC: 00186-7301 The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, increased urination, and hypotension. Unfortunately, I cannot find a listing for the other tablet that was asked about with the G 1640 marking. Is anyone ...

Small white pill blank on one side with a minus sign on the other

My mom passed away and I'm trying to figure out what her medication is. It's a small white pill, blank on one side with what looks like a minus (-) sign on the other. Does anyone know what it is and what it's for? ## Small white pill with a minus sign on one side and blank on the other side ## Hello Neen, I know this may sound silly but how large is the line on the back of the pill? Does it go across the entire pill or just a very small portion of the pill? The reason I ask is it sounds to me like the pill is scored and the line is there with the intention of the pill to be broken in half. If that's the case then the pill is not a prescription medication and is likely some sort of over the counter drug/vitamin/supplement or dietary pill. If it comes to that then there re...

metoprol tar

At about the time I was diagnosed with borderline blood pressure and put on metoprol Tar, I noticed discoloring on one, then two shoulders -- a rash -- where the skin became harder and bumpy/scaley. At the same time I developed a rash under my right breast that hasn't gone away. It's four years now and my blood pressure has risen and the rash spreading throughout my back, into my arms, and recently into the buttocks and legs. I've also been extremely stressed for the past 12 years and more so since I lost my job last year. Is this a reaction to Metoprol or my high blood pressure, or is it something related. I also have edema in both lower legs and have been on hydrochlorothiazine for two years. Thank you. ## It has been known to aggravate psoriasis, so the rash and other ski...

Swelling in ankles and feet left hand largebump wrist swollen

Best medicine for degenerative arthritis ## For the past 3wks my ankles & feet has been swollen. They'll go down for a day or so but will swell back up. They wasn't sore at first but they are starting to get tender around my ankles & the top of my feet. I wanted to know what's causing it & is there anything that will prevent it from happening ## I can explain all of the swelling in my calves, ankles and toes to RA, and medications but the top of my food is a mound and hurt so BAD even to the touch. I just keep saying it must be RA because we have so many bones and joints in our feet, and now it kills to walk on the bottom of my feet and I should wear shoes but it hurts to wear them. Its like every bone in my feet are breaking which could be as osteoporosis has go...

Best medicine for schizophrenia

Looking to find out the best medicine to treat schizophrenia. ## Hello, Valerie! How are you? There is really no 'best medicine' so to speak. It depends on the person and what works for them. Not all medications work for everyone that tries them, which is why they are usually several options to try in any given treatment category. For example, I have high blood pressure and while the 'best' medication for many people is Metoprolol, it made me very sick and I had to stop taking it. It also didn't significantly lower my blood pressure. That said, what medications have you tried? Some people do better with an older medication, such as Risperdal, though as reported by the FDA, it can cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, somnolence and weight gain. But others ha...

I am taking care of my sister and she is 83 she is so hard to wake up At times and I sometimes have to raise my voice to get her awake. I have been out of nursing since 88. And have not been familiar with the newer drugs. ## Metoprolol is a beta blocker that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions. It can cause drowsiness, as a side effect, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination, but it doesn't usually cause a deep sleep like that. What other medications is she on? Actavis ph metoprolol succinate er tab 50 mg

My generic toprol xl just changed to this and I want info on this manufacturer to see if there are any problems with it. ## I was also changed to the Actavis Metoprolol success er 25 MG due to lack of availability or discontinuation of Mylan's generic version. I find the Avtavis version not nearly as effective as Mylan and am trying to learn the status of the Mylan MT1 version, or the effectiveness of other generics for this drug. ## Although some manufacturers have a reputation for more or less effective meds, I find that everyone's response/reaction is also going to vary based on several factors; including but not limited to one's unique body chemistry, metabolism, sensitivities to inert ingredients, etc. That said, trial and error may be the only way to determine what wor...

Metoprolol Succinate ER

I switched pharmacies and the pills look different - it didn't concern me, and research says they are the same thing. However, I FEEL different. Pharmacy B is round white with M 3 on it, and a score between the characters, blank on other side. B is the one I am struggling with. Would there be a difference in how I feel? ## Hello, Susan! How are you? Yes, they are both 100mg Metoprolol tables, they're just manufactured by different companies. However, under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, there can be slight differences in the amount of the active ingredient in generics, so this new one may be a little stronger than the on...

Metoprolol side effects

I started Metoprolol Tartrate 25mg being one tab every 12 hours. I was in the hospital with a blood pressure of 200/130, sometimes higher with a high pulse and irregular heartbeat. I experienced tightening in chest, slight difficulity in breathing, and extreme variables in my pressures. Most of the time they are in the normal range, but occasionally my systolic has dropped under 100 and my diastolic was 58. I am monitoring my foods and am also taking Ativan twice daily. I am terrified. Anybody else have these variables in pressures? I have only been on the medicines for four weeks now. I have had diabetes and thyroid neg testing. I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder??? Never heard of it before. All my family including five siblings have high blood pressure as well. ## These types of vari...

atenalol changed after 2017 shortage

I was on Atenolol from 2002 to 2017. Then there was a "shortage". The new Atenolol is absolutely NOT the same. If it was, I wouldn't have to take 9, that's right 9 50mg tablets of metoprolols with the Atenolol. I've told my Doctor. He either doesn't believe me, or doesn't care. With my hand on a Bible.... Atenolol has changed. ## I am very sorry about the problem that you're having, that is a lot of medication to take regularly. However, I would like to ask a few questions to gain a better understanding of what is going on. What condition are you taking these medications to treat, hypertension, a cardiac condition, or something else? What is happening that causes you to feel you need to take so much of the Metoprolol, with your Atenolol? These medications...
