Ozempic And Constipation

I have been on Ozempic 1mg for a few months and have lost 25 lbs. I feel great but struggle with constipation from the drug. Does anyone else have this problem?

Ohmygosh!! Yessss I love Ozempic for my type 2 diabetes. I have lost a good amount of weight. I have so many diabetes problems that Ozempic has helped with.. BUT I freaked out about the Constipation I took Mira lax and then ex lax. I calmed down about it and know I don’t eat junk like I have and I don’t eat as much. I take Metamucil daily and eat fiber drink tons of water. The Constipation is better but still an issue if I don’t drink enough water.. I love Ozempic and haven’t felt better since I got this prescription. My blood glucose is great!!

I take Ozempic & also hv constipation issues, not sure if because of Ozempic or the fact I am on an opioid pain medication. I can tell you I was put on a medication to deal w/constipation & had to try sev diff ones but what has worked wonderfully is Movantik.
There are still a few times I must also take Miralax but very rarely need to do so.

I've been on Ozempic for 10 weeks. At 1 mg now. I eat much less, but have to be conscious about eating enough vegetables. Take a look at your dark, leafy green intake and make sure you have enough

Constipation can be a side effect of Ozempic according to FDA reports. Other side effects may include nausea, headache, dizziness, heartburn, and burping.

Have you tried anything to help alleviate the constipation, such as fiber supplements?

Are you on any other medications?

YES! The constipation is horrible. I am taking Miralax and Metamucil - seems to help some, but if I overeat, I feel horrible. I've lost about 15 pounds in just 3-4 months. I feel good until the constipation hits again - there seems to be a cycle. I have learned to stop eating the moment I feel full.

Prune juice and Black cherry juice! I was making matters worse by using Metamucil and Miralax. Daily 4-8 oz. in the evening, ready to go the next day. I know drinking fruit juice isn't ideal way to get the benefits of prunes but I can't even look at the real deal without gagging. There's lots of info on why prune juice is good for constipation.

Have your Doctor prescribe Linzess. It comes in 3 different strengths. I have constipation issues and my Gastroenterologist prescribed this. Started with the low dose which did not work. Then went to 145 mg. Works every time. I am waiting on getting my prescription approved for Ozempic. My Doctor first tried getting Wegovy but insurance would not pay for it.

Try castor oil caps, 1 a day, everyday eat leafy greens, smoothie with veg. protein powder, chia, flax, grn apple, frozen blue berries, I love a nice handful of flat parsley also....of course water ??

Constipation is perfectly normal taking ozympic. It basically slows your digestive system down and keeps food in your belly longer that's why you're always feeling full and you're losing weight and you're being able to control your blood sugar better because of the less sugar spikes??
