Pain Clinic Cash Only Tennessee (Page 3)

Updated

Here is my problem. Been in pain management since March 2014 when I was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease in both feet and had right leg amputated. So my PCP found me a pain clinic and was prescribed 120 Roxicodone 30mg + 90 Oxymorphone ER 15mg. I was at pain clinic up till March 2015 when they shut down. My Dr @ pain clinic that shut down, found me another pain clinic. I've been going to this pain clinic since March 2015 till present (October 2015) my first visit the NP dropped me down to 90 Roxi 30mg and kept me @ 90 Oxymorphone ER 15mg, which I was fine with. Of course being new to this pain management it was hard losing that 1 extra pill. My next visit, i brought my bottles because I get a 30 day supply but go every 28 days. The NP then told me that She has to drop me Once again to 120 Roxi 15mg, i told her that I knew this wasn't going to be a good idea because for 2 weeks the previous month losing that 1 extra 30mg roxi was rough on me, but she is the expert so I had to go with it. But still kept me at the same 90 Oxymorphone 15mg. 28 days later I bring my bottles, took routine drug panel & here comes a Dr this time not the same NP. I told him that this was my worst month of my life since being in pain management, and I explain how his NP dropping me basically from 120 roxi 30mg to 120 roxi 15mg in less than 2 months was a sickness I never experienced in my life. So the Dr told me that I've reached the max of milligrams of oxycodone their clinic gives for my condition.

For those who don't know what Charcot foot disease is. Lets just say there is no cure but is treatable through pain management then eventually amputation. Which means I'm losing my limbs. When I know this is not true cause my aunt goes to the same place and gets 150 30mg roxi for a bad knee and hurt shoulder. But he said what he could do is up my Oxymorphone from 15mg to 20mg 3x a day and keep me at 120 15mg roxi. I told the Dr I felt like that was way to much Oxymorphone for me But since I was getting roughly only 4 hours of pain relief a day I would try it. Well lets say i was right, it was way to much Oxymorphone for me, so at next visit when they did my routine drug panel and pill count. I was over on the Oxymorphone (Opana) and I explained that all I done was sleep taking all that Oxymorphone. Now does that sound like a druggie to you? Now this is why I'm needing to find a new pain clinic in nashville. Since March 2015 till October 15, 2015, I never failed a u/a. Was never short on my pill count. Always showed up when called in for pill counts and was never short on the surprise called in pill count. I get a call on Thursday October 8th for mandatory pill count. I explained to the lady that I just got released from hospital with signs of phenomena and flu and that I was not getting back out cause I couldn't even drive myself to the ER the night before. I told her I just got home and I was in bad shape to get out. I then asked her if I could get my grandmother take my bottles to clinic for count. I was then told NO that for me to wear a mask cause I was only going to be there less than 2 mins. I told the lady could I just come first thing that next morning and she told me NO because she tried getting a hold of me the day before to let me know of my pill count being on the 8th, once again I reminded her I just got out of being over night at ER and if I wasn't there by 4:30pm I would be dismissed for failure to follow pill count policies. I told her I have always been in compliance with every policy. I never not showed up for pill counts and was always model patient. The way she talked to me and the rudeness she gave me, i told her to dismiss me and hung up. I am never not one to disrespect anyone that is a healthcare provider to me, but I was not going to be talked to like I was a pill junkie and was only going there to get pills to feel high. Hell like I said, I didn't know nothing about pain medications till I lost my leg. I called my PCP today and told him about it. I got 2 weeks to find a pain clinic. Anyone with advice? I am cash pay cause I am awaiting disability which my benefits should kick in in about 2 months. So if anyone knows of a good pain clinic who will treat me as a person in pain please respond.... Thank you guys for letting me vent.

I'm sorry for what you are going through. I was in a bad car wreck as well i've been on pain meds for 25 yrs. I don't have a pain Dr at all, my family Dr wouldn't give me anything but Tramadol. I have suffered and still suffering. I have a lot of chronic pain. On top of my car wreck I live in Jamestown Tennessee.

I need a good Dr that understands. I'm like you - I'm not taking them to abuse, I just want to be able to get up and do my house work maybe work in the yard without suffering with my pain. It's hard to sleep at night and I sincerely need a good Dr who understands. I worked hard all my life and that is what is wrong with my body let's just say I hurt all over. Can't find a Dr that understands or cares. If you know of a good Dr,would you mind sharing their name and address for me? All I want is to enjoy life.

Don't know u at all but i feel the same way, I don't like being judged by anyone. No one knows how much u hurt or what u are going through unless they have been there. Us people that need the pain medicine just to get around and enjoy what life we do have can't get it. I know a few people that all they do is wear something provocative and sit on Dr's lap and get what they want and they don't even need anything for pain. That's the truth. I myself can't sweep the floors cause it feels like a horse kicking me in my back the whole time. I would like to find a Dr that really understand what i'm going through. If you know of one please let me know. Anywhere like Knoxville or Crossville just as long as it's not out of state. Thank you for your time.

Re: Nora (# 44) Expand Referenced Message

Hi Nora! If you find a doctor, will you please let me know. I have lived in Nashville for approximately 3 weeks. I need to find someone pretty soon. I have enough pain meds for 2 more weeks, but I have been putting off looking for a doctor, because I can't stand the way pain management treats people.

Re: Green Ghost (# 42) Expand Referenced Message

May I ask the name of the doctor or clinic you were referred to? I am in desperate need of a good pain management clinic that have respect for their patients. It's so embarrassing when you're treated like crap because you ask medication.

Hi! I was just checking to see if you ever found a doctor. If so could you please let me know the name or the clinic name? I moved here from Louisiana I am in a pickle. The worst part is no one has responded to me on any website that I have gone to for help.

Re: MBHR (# 48) Expand Referenced Message

Do you have a copy of your medical records from your pain management doctor in Louisiana? New pain management doctors want a copy of new patients medical records. You can offer to get them yourself or ask your new doctor if they prefer getting them. When you find a new doctor, be sure you have the address, phone and fax numbers for your previous doctor in Louisiana

Re: BlessedLady (# 49) Expand Referenced Message

I do not have my records with me. I could easily have them sent to me or a doctors office. Only problem is, I can't get a name of any doctor that prescribes 30 milligrams of oxycodone. Heck, I could go down to 20 milligrams if the pharmaceutical companies would stop watering down their product. I'm so aggravated. WHERE ARE ALL THESE PILL MILLS that people talk about? I think they are full of crap!

Re: MBHR (# 50) Expand Referenced Message

You have to see a doctor before you will know what a particular doctor will prescribe you. Usually new doctors start out prescribing non opioid pain medication. It would be rare for a doctor to prescribe Oxycodone 30 mg to a new patient at the first visit. Frankly, if you are looking for a doctor to prescribe you Oxycodone 30 mg several times a day I doubt you are going to find one. How long did you see your doctor in Louisiana? Maybe you could travel back to Louisiana to see your old doctor every few months.

Re: BlessedLady (# 51) Expand Referenced Message

@BlessedLady, yes ma'am, I understand about not starting you out on a certain milligram of oxycodone or hydrocodone or anything for that matter. For me, yesterday was just a really rough day. Not so much pain wise, but just down in general. I guess you could say I was a little grouchy, L O L. I have been on that since 2011 and it seems to work perfect for me without any side effects to my liver. I've never gone up or down in my dosages and I take three a day, sometimes less. I know everyone says that your body starts to tolerate it and you have to take more and more, but I am definitely a case where that is not a fact! I was referred to my pain management doctor by my local back doctor. He picked up right where my last Pain Management doctor left off. (only switched because of move, 1st time). We have to change states with my husband's job twice in the last eight years. I never realized how hard it would be to get into Pain Management until I started reading about it online. All I was trying to do was look up a clinic near me in Tennessee. Somehow I got on different blogs and it led me to here. Thank you so much for responding, I really appreciate it :-*)

Re: Green Ghost (# 40) Expand Referenced Message

Hey there. I'm in Bristol as well and my primary doc at HMG is supposed to be finding me a pain doc that will give me my Oxymorphone back. I've been paralyzed for 17 yrs and all she can give me is 4 Roxy 15. I'm scared cuz I can hardly get threw my day. My name is Scott and if u find anyone in the area or within even 100miles I'd still go.

Re: Scott G (# 54) Expand Referenced Message

What part of Louisiana did you live in? I live in Louisiana.

I looked at the HMG website. I did not see any pain management doctors listed. Are you sure your pcp said she would find you a pain management doctor? I ask because it is usually for a doctor to do that. One doctor cannot tell another doctor what to prescribe or the dosage. Doctors do not know what types of insurance they take. So even if your pcp did find a pain management doctor for you, the pain management doctor might not accept your insurance.

You need to read up on the State Of Tennessee Laws Governing Opioids For Chronic Pain.. Put that in Google. Be sure the sites you go to end in .gov. That way you will be reading actual laws and not opinions.

I hope you are able to get proper pain management soon.

Re: BlessedLady (# 55) Expand Referenced Message

I was in Mandeville. Yes, my doctor recommended for a pain management clinic to take a look at my case. I had previously been with another pain management doctor before our first move. After we moved, I knew I had to see another pain management doctor, but in the meantime I went to a back specialist. He treated me and was very helpful with relief. He then referred me to someone that could help me on a month-to-month basis. With my epidural steroid injections, I didn't need to see the back doctor/surgeon on a regular basis, just once or twice a year.

Re: Scott G (# 54) Expand Referenced Message

If I find anyone, I will definitely let you know. I'm so sick of the runaround and the way people get treated also how hard it is to get your regular meds that you've been on for so long that I might just wean off. I know it sounds crazy, but I really don't want to go through withdrawls. I have gotten off twice before but the first time my quality of life was horrible. I was 48 at the time and couldn't even hold a grandchild without my neck and back are killing me. I got back on my opiate and everything was back on track. The second time I got off was to try the medical marijuana when it was legalized in my state. I've never smoked marijuana and I guess I wasn't knowing what to expect. For some reason it made my back and neck more tight and tense. I took clonazepam just to release my the tension in my neck and back pain. Obviously I was not taking the right stuff or possibly using it incorrectly. But in my experience, it just did not work for me. I might look into it again with a different medical pharmacy. I'm not sure... I don't like being under someone's thumb and depending on someone to prescribe something to me. If I could stand to be off of the stuff, that's what I would prefer. I'm sure I could take clonazepam and gabapentin to help with the withdrawals. I've done it before I was fine, but it's just really scary thinking about doing it again. What do you think, Scott? Any advice on weaning off? I don't have unlimited amounts of medicine to wean myself off this time, so it would have to be done in a week or so... Ugh
