Has anyone tried these generic Modafinil and Armodafinil meds who can compare them to U.S. prescription brand name or generics? I know 2 of them are made by Sun pharma. I've had Sun pharma generic Adderall which was utter crap and another generic of theirs that seemed weak so no faith in them. The other is produced by HAB pharma which is another Indian company. I have been using Modafinil (provigil) for a little over a year now, I work a night shift and it's hard for me to adjust back to the living world on my days off until a buddy told me about modafinil. It has really changed my life, I am no longer a Zombie on my days off and it really keeps me focused on the many projects I work on on my days off. I'm wondering if anyone else out there took this drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding and what their experience was. I know anecdotal evidence is not scientific proof of anything, but studying pregnant women is not ethical. I noticed they just started a provigil pregnancy registry to track women who choose to stay on it while pregnant but I'm guessing it will be some time until we hear any results from that. I chose to stay on it during my pregnancy because I had to work and drive safely. I lowered my dose to the lowest amount I can function on. My son was born completely healthy, very social, happy, no health issues. I really can't tell if Provigil helps me or not. I take it to help me stay awake due to tiredness associated with MS. Does anyone else take this and do you feel like it really helps you? ## He Debbi: For me it really does make a difference. I type at work and kept getting tired spells and falling asleep at the computer. I would fall asleep, start dreaming and wake up and this would go on repeatedly and I had to recheck my work so much that I was not getting enough done. Provigil has really helped in that department. Does anyone know of a Doctor or Soecialist that will prescribe provigil in the NY area? I’ve been on it before and adderall off and on for over ten years. I don’t know who to ask? I have a lot of Provigil left from 9 years ago... It was prescribed for the fatigue & sleepiness of fibromyalgia. Is it likely to be still effective after 9 yrs? Is it too old to take? ## You can learn a lot of medication expiration dates on this FDA page. Generally, medications start to lose efficacy once expired, due to exposure to the substances that cause degradation, such as heat, light, and moisture. Thus, after 9 years, they are most likely no longer effective and it would be best to dispose of them properly. Is there anything else I can help with?

On the contrary, I felt energized and more focused. This is in contradiction with the World Anti-Doping Agency which prohibits the use of Modafinil. I have degenerative arthritis throughout my body. Latest MRI, yesterday. I've had four spinal fusion surgeries starting at the bottom of my spine. I'm scheduled for neck injection next week. I'm 69 years old and my only income is Social Security. I stay so very tired/exhausted all the time with no idea what to do. My pain clinic doctor gave me a prescription for Nuvigi, but my insurance denied it, and my doc said they would also deny Provigil. I have taken a short course of each of these several years ago, and they helped. I have noticed that taking 100mg of Provigil raises my blood pressure. Anyone else have these same issues? Will it go away over time? ## That is normal, when you take a stimulant, such as this. The FDA does lists it as a common side effect and no, it most likely won't go away, it may actually worsen with time, which is why these medications are not usually prescribed for people with existing high blood pressure. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, insomnia, and anorexia. How high has your blood pressure been? You might need to switch to a different medication.

Nuvugil, Provigil's "cousin gave me a year long discount card so with my insurance it would cost no more than $15 a month. BUT Nuvigil gave me whopping headaches where as Provilgil did not. Can you imagine my surprise to find my 20% of total was WAY over $100.00!!!!!!!!!!! I'm on medicare, and my last prescription of Provigil cost $816 for a 30 day supply. I am a recovering liver transplant patient and had suffered from daytime sleepiness from Obstructive sleep apnea and Primary Biliary Cirrhosis. Provigil is prescribed specifically FOR these conditions, but I encounter resistance each time I request a refill. Without this medication, I am literally unable to arise in the morning and participate in a normal day, such as operating a vehicle. In prescribing the medication, my sleep medicine doctor states specifically what conditions I have that require its use. I have had narcolepsy for 15 years and its well controlled with provigil. October of 2014 after 2 1/2 months of different tests I was diagnosed with hashimotos with a 2.2 cm nodule. I have been taking 25mcg of l-thyroxine. I felt real good about 6 weeks after starting it but after being on it about 3 months symptoms started coming back. I never lost the symptom of being cold. I am so tired of being cold. The lack of energy and my legs feel heavy my voice is froggy and sometimes I feel dull pain in my neck. Just switched doctors a couple days ago. Hi. I have narcolepsy, chronic pain, and several disabilities from a severe accident a few years ago. I've taken Adderall (30 MG 2x day) for the past 3 years. Prior to that I took 200 MG of Provigil daily, but it's cost was over $800/month, and neither insurance nor medicare would cover it. My former sleep specialist switched me to Adderall with good results. I had to change doctors last December, and the new Dr. at the University of Iowa took me off all of my meds pending new sleep studies (I've had 3 in the past 5 years), pain clinic (also had that 3X in 5 years), seeing a neurologist, etc. We're talking 3 months for these tests and I'm currently sleeping 18 hours a day, and I'm in so much pain from lack of my other meds that I wouldn't care to be on my fee...

Provigil/modafinil/imitrex/sumatriptan do any of these show up as thc on ua ## No, those haven't been known to cause false positives for THC. Learn more drug test details here. Having a hard time getting my insurance company to pay for my Provigil; United Healthcare, Medco. They say I can pay for it but that is full price ast several hundred dollars per month.
