White capsule shaped pill with Watson 716 325 mg on it, what is it? ## Watson 716 325 mg is a now discontinued form of Quinine Sulfate 325 mg from Watson pharmaceuticals (NDC 52544-0716). [1]. Quinine is a medication used to treat malaria and babesiosis. This includes the treatment of malaria due to Plasmodium falciparum that is resistant to chloroquine when artesunate is not available. While sometimes used for nocturnal leg cramps, quinine is not recommended for this purpose due to the risk of serious side effects. It can be taken by mouth or intravenously. Malaria resistance to quinine occurs in certain areas of the world. Quinine is also the ingredient in tonic water that gives it its bitter taste.

White capslue Pill 303 325 hour glass ## Hi, Kim! Where did you find it? The hourglass logo is used by Ivax Pharmaceuticals, but I am not finding a listing for this anywhere, so I'm wondering if it may be an older medication that is no longer being manufactured. Does anyone else recognize this tablet? I'll keep looking and post back when I have more information for you. ## I believe this capsule 303 325 with what looks like an hour glass is Quinine Sulfate. It probably came out of Mexico. This is the same capsule which came out of Mexico. I can only guess that the 325 would represent 325 mg. ## White capsule on one side it has 303on top then325 under it and on the left of the pill it is a sign like a hour glass

Are Quinine sulfate capsules used for Lazy Leg Syndrome? ## As an antimyontonic for office use ## I am looking for a price on the 325 mg capsule or tablets for office use in Myotonia Congenita. ## I bought quinine but it's yellowish in color, so I want to ask if there are different types of quinine? ## I've seen Quinine come in the form of a round yellow/orangish colored pill as well as a white/cream colored capsule. That said, to my knowledge, there are different manufacturers of Quinine containing different sets of binders and fillers. Depending on how your body responds to these differences, you may end up preferring one over the other. __________________________ RE: "Are Quinine sulfate capsules used for Lazy Leg Syndrome?" I'm 6wks pregnant and was treated for malaria given quinine 12doses.Also drank some herbal missed with gin . Now my question is my baby safe from deformity? ## Alcohol is never a good idea, while pregnant, in any amount, it could cause fetal alcohol syndrome, according to the NIH, so you need to make sure your doctor is aware that you drank something mixed with gin. As to the use of Quinine during pregnancy, it is the recommended treatment and, according to the U.S. FDA, no risks to the baby have been proven. Are you on any other medications?

I have quinine about 15 years old. Does quinine get too old? ## Hello, Dymple! How are you? Yes, all medications tend to lose efficacy with time. The elements, such as heat, light and moisture cause them to degrade. Thus, I have to say that after 15 years, yes, you should just dispose of it and obtain a new supply, if you need it. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Quinine as possibly including nausea, diarrhea, dizziness and stomach pain. Is there anything else I can help with?

I need to know how many leg cramp pills I should take at one time, and how often. The label came off of my bottle. It is a white oval pill with LC on one side and HYL on the other. Thanks ! ## Hi Mimi, From what I've been able to gather, "HYL LC" is a Homeopathic med made by Hyland's Inc, (Leg Cramps with Quinine) containing: Cinchona Officinalis (Quinine), Viscum Album, Gnaphalium Polycephalum, Rhus Toxicodendron, Aconitum Napellus, Ledum Palustre, Magnesia Phosphoricum I have not been able to locate any specific details on the dosage or administration though. Is there anyway you can contact the company that you ordered it from, to verify the labeling? ## Label says 1-2 with water every 4 hours as needed.

I have some pills that have been in my pill box a couple months, and I cannot remember what they are for. They are a smaller white oblong pill that on one side has the imprint of LC, and on the other side has the imprint of HYL. Thank you. ## Hello, Traci! How are you? This is an over the counter homeopathic product called Hyland's Leg Cramps with Quinine. Hyland's makes several homeopathic products that you can get in most vitamin shops or health stores. As it states, they claim it can relieve leg cramps. As a precaution, if you do experience leg cramps regularly, be sure to have yourself check for low potassium levels and/or dehydration, since both can cause such a symptom. Is there anything else I can help with?

Someone please help to identify a white capsule with writing Watson 716 325 mg ## This capsule contains 325mgs of Quinine, which is most commonly used as an antimalarial medication. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, constipation and erectile dysfunction. And while this medication is greatly rumored to cause miscarriage in pregnant women, that is not true. Pregnant women that take high doses of it to attempt such are more likely to suffer renal failure and not a miscarriage, so please be careful and don't believe the myths. Are there any questions or concerns?

Is it safe to take quinine for leg cramps while taking methadone? ## Hi Beeper, I wouldn't recommend taking either of these drugs together, as my findings state that there are potentially unsafe interactions between Quinine and Methadone. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Talk to your doctor before using methadone together with quinine. Combining these medications can increase the risk of an irregular heart rhythm that may be serious. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or special monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. You should seek immediate medical attention if you develop sudden dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, or fast or pounding heartb...

Im taking tonic water with quinine for cramping in my feet and legs and it helps but I have to empty my bladder all the time and it hard to hold. ## Hi maggie, In my honest opinion the side effect list for Quinine is pretty nerve racking. And although I didn't see a mention of any bladder-related concerns, I do have reason to suspect that one or more other side effects of this drug may be indirectly causing it: nausea restlessness difficulty hearing or ringing in the ears confusion nervousness rash hives itching flushing hoarseness difficulty breathing or swallowing swelling of the face, throat, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles or lower legs fever blisters stomach pain vomiting diarrhea blurriness or changes in color vision inability to hear or see faintness easy bruising purple, bro...

Atlanta, GA. On the back, it has in evenly spaced, capital print explaining its used in a 30 discription. ## Quinine is a medications that has long been used to treat malaria. In lower doses, it makes its way into a lot of over the counter herbal supplements, as it is believed to help with many conditions, because of its natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. A pomade means this one is meant to be used topically and not taken internally. Are there any other comments or questions?
