Suboxone Doctors That Accept Tenncare Memphis Tennessee
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I have been on suboxone for a while. However the Dr I am currently seeing is falling short on his duties as a Dr. He didn't come in until 4pm on Friday and 6 of us were told to come back Saturday. Well Saturday after waiting for 7 hours he called the office and said he wasn't coming and he's only open Thursday-Saturday most weeks and none at all other weeks. He's impossible to reach to even get medicine called in. Anyways. In short I am in need of a suboxone Dr that accepts Tenn care in the Memphis and surrounding areas. Or one that doesn't charge an arm and a leg. Please. I'm a mom of 4 and am so very desperate to not be sick anymore. Thanks.

They take insurance for Suboxone and other addiction treatments at the UT Clinic at 1325 Eastmoreland Ave. Suite 440 (behind Methodist Hospital). It was easy to get in, no long waits. The phone number there is 901-866-8630.

You must be taking about Dr Lovelace. I currently see him, as I haven't been able to find another doctor who accepts insurance. As you mentioned, 1/2 the time, he doesn't show at all and when he does come in, wait is 6-8 hours. The staff there is also incompetent. If anyone knows of a physician in the West Tennessee area (Memphis or Jackson) and wouldn't mind sharing that info, would greatly appreciate it. I just got done with a 3 hour round trip drive, as my appointment was today, but their "system" was down supposedly. Instead of calling in our prescription today, he's being lazy and making us wait till Monday, which will cause several people who have been clean for year(s) to relapse. Dr Lovelace is nothing more than a licensed drug dealer, as he knows there are little to no options for us that use insurance, so he does what he wants and cancels appointments whenever he doesn't feel like working.

I appreciate the original poster's stance on not calling him out by name, but someone should either fine him heavily or take his medical license away.

Hello. Thank you for your response I'm doing well, how are you? I am actually aware of the doctor search on the suboxone website. I just have 4 children and its hard to find the time to call Dr after Dr after dr.. ya know what I mean?? That's why I was wondering if maybe someone out there knew of a tenncare suboxone writing doctor in Memphis, TN or the surrounding areas. The ones I have actually called do not accept state insurance (medicaid) and with 4 kids I most definitely can not afford to pay cash for the Dr visit lol. THis is my 4th year being on suboxone. . Almost my 5th. My doctor had me down to 5mg a day then suddenly jumped me back up to 19mg a day which I started on 16mg per day year's and years ago. So I told him I need 8mg a day now since that mistake happened.. No more.. No less.... so idk.. he's a good doctor but a very careless one.. in many ways. He's impossible to reach on his "after hours phone" and everyone is kept waiting 6-8 hours past their appt time every single doctors visit. I'm wondering if the way he sends ppl home and then doesn't show (bc this isn't the 1st time) and leaving patients without their medication (some older patients are on blood pressure medication, diabetes medication etc..) for a week or longer is considered malpractice or mor? Considering patients could potentially die from not having their medication....

Hello, Katherine! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're dealing with a doctor like that.

There is a search engine on the Suboxone website, you can find it at Suboxone.com click here. You can search by zip code to find other doctors in you area. Their contact information will be included, so you can call to ask what insurance they accept and if they are accepting new patients.

The FDA classifies this mediation as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?
