Ultram Prescription Duration

I am prescribed 50mg ultram (100 of them) - It says take every 6 hours. How many days is this supply supposed to last me?

One every 6 hours would be 4 a day, so that would be 25 days.

However, it really depends on the specifics of the prescription, for instance, if it is written to be taken as needed, your doctor may not expect you to always need to take 4 a day, so they may intend for it to last longer.

What are the specific directions on the label?

The FDA warns that this medications carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

Although mathematics would indicate a 25 day supply, most doctors or pharmacist's interpreting such would most likely indicate a 30 day or monthly supply since most dose during AWAKENING HOURS only. In my experience most pharmacies interpret this as a one month supply unless otherwise expressed on the written rx.

Most pharmacists interpret this to be a 30 day supply unless otherwise indicated on the written legend of the written rx. Obviously mathematics would tell us 25 days but some infer a period of non WAKE hours. It's always best to defer to the prescriber for the exact nature of the SIG label .
