I am prescibed the 2mg alprazolam, and have realized that when I take the yellow bars vs. the white ones I am groggy the next day and they make me tired when I take them during the day. Wallgreens only has the yellow ones I was wondering what manufacturer makes the white ones so I could have them order them. It would also be helpful to know what pharmacy does carry those if not.

I'm sorry, but there is no way for us to know what pharmacy carries a medication from any given manufacturer.
I also can't tell you who the manufacturer is from just the color of the tablet, since that actually doesn't mean anything. It is the imprint from the tablets that would enable use to identify it and tell you the manufacturer.

Verwon, not all tablets carry imprints or codes. I think that is only a US requitement. In any case, 95% of 2mg alp, round, oval, oblong, bar-shaped, are white. Most are cross-scored or in the case of bars, tri-scored. The highest selling is one of the poorest quality (Sandoz GG249) & also white is the only really top quality alp made in the USA, Greenstone G3722. In Belgium the excellent large round cross scored EG generic, much better than any US alp bar Purepac/Actavis or Greenstone, cost around €21 for 50, as opposed to branded Upjohn 94 XANAX bars which are €36+ for 50. Nobody in Europe would touch US Alp except those mentioned, and 'old' Sandoz 249 bars are seen as fit for consumption by toilets, not humans...

Has anyone heard of the manufacturer zy or zay, zie not sure how to spell it, I've been on the yellow 2mg purpac which work really good. My Walgreens said they now use this manufacturer.....

Actually, PurePac is the only company that sells yellow bars, and Walgreens are the only major retailer to carry them, so you might want to look into your statement a little more.

GG white at CVS and ACME, sometimes Rite Aide but Rite Aide also carries the 2mg white pizza pies by Mylan. Single G white are at Kennedy Hospital pharmacy also some independent Pharmacy, easy to find on street but find it hard to find pharmacies that carry. Yellow ones are at every Walgreens and Walmart. Green ones are usually independent pharmacies but also got them from Kennedy Pharmacy too. GG seems easiest to find of the whites where I am, well brand also are white but expensive.

I am sort of having somewhat of the same thing going on. I used to take the 2 mg white bars which were fine, but now my Pharmacy gives me the circle 2 mg Alprazolam which make me groggy. I want my white 2mg bars back. Any suggestions on which pharmacies still carry them? Much appreciated.

I don't know if anyone else who is responding to your post is from Texas but our CVS Pharmacies has carried the white four scored bars for as long as I can remember. And oddly enough the person from Europe or the UK, who said that they only mess with certain American manufacturers (then size/color/shape; without any imprint) that makes the generic xanax (alprazolam), actually got her information right because she said that the G3?? imprints are manufactured by Greenstone and she is correct! I'm pretty sure that this is the one that you're talking about because many people say that they prefer these to the school buses (yellow bars from Walgreens), hulks (green bars that cvs is now trying to pass off instead of their typical Greenstones), plates (white quartered by the circled pills from HEB and similar grocery store pharmacies), and even more than the original, brand name Xanax which are easily distinguishable by the giant imprint of XANAX on one side and then the giant 2 (mg) on the other side. I personally prefer the white bars, or even the white plates over any other genetics but now that CVS has been stocking up with the recently "watered down" forms known as the Hulks, I actually have to call them in advance to have them order my usual ones from Greenstone. Just my opinion maybe, but if you live in Texas you'll be able to get them from cvs if you call them in advance and if you don't mind waiting for them to arrive. Best wishes!

Greenstone is the manufacturer of the generic white scored rectangular 2mg Alprazolam tablets. Greenstone happens to be a subsidiary of the name brand Xanax manufacturer Upjohn (now a part of Pfizer). I usually request Greenstone Alprazolam 2mg tablets, but most Insurance plans will not cover Greenstone and the pharmacy will require you to pay the cash price. The yellow Alprazolam 2mg tablets are manufactured by Actavis. Mylan makes a good generic Aplrazolam 2mg tablet, but it is a white round tablet with a "A4" imprint.
