Why Can I Not Take A Whole Bunavail Strip?

I am trying to understand why I cannot take a whole Bunavail strip? I have been on Suboxone 20mgs. daily for nearly two months now from coming off 170mgs. of Methadone daily and 4mgs xanax daily. I still could not take a whole Suboxone strip at once because I would start hurting all over and it wouldn't last because of needing to take lil pieces every 15+ minutes all throughout the day and I would still have cravings. So I went to the doctor today and he prescribed Bunavail to take with the Suboxone for 2 weeks. and I took a bigger piece than what I usually take of the Suboxone and I felt ok but I felt if I was going into worse withdrawals than what i'm experiencing now. I was hoping that someone could help me figure out a way to feel better without going threw severe withdrawals. I am scared because I felt if I have been threw hell trying to get better for the whole 2months.I have tried Zubsolv it was the first thing I was prescribed and it was ruff until 2weeks later when I got on suboxone I was feeling better but not a whole 100% maybe a 80% better. I do feel my anxiety rising when I take the Bunavail or Zubsolv and of course I don't take the xanax no more neither i just stopped all at once without a tapper and I am having a very difficult time trying to get on the right meds and dose. I don't know what else to do and don't won't to go back to the Methadone. If anyone has experienced this coming off methadone and has accomplished successfully please help me pull through this by telling me what helped you pull through? or if anyone has an idea what would help please let me know. You are detoxing from the xanax. U have replaced methadone with buprenorphine but nothing to take the benzos place. U will feel better in 2 months

Unfortunately, Methadone is notoriously hard to stop, even if someone does a very slow taper. Many people never become completely drug free with it, in most cases, they end up on a lifetime maintenance dose. This is why research was done to try to find other treatment options, in hopes that more people would be able to become drug free, rather than just trading one addiction for another. Most reports state that switching to Suboxone/Buprenorphine, isn't possible, until someone has tapered down to a 30mg daily dose of Methadone.

You also have to be in withdrawal, before taking the Suboxone, which usually means stopping all other opiates for 72 hours. Taking it too soon could throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals, which could explain some of your symptoms.

I don't want to discourage you, because some people have been successfully switched, but it must be done properly.
