It does not become dangerous or harmful, but it can lose effectiveness, so it may not work as well as it should. It would be best to dispose of it and obtain a new supply.
The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hyppotension.
