Hi. I was on coversyl 5mg for 2.5 years and 6 months ago i asked the dr if i could start to wean off it due to feeling faint dizzy nauseous light headed needles and pins and depressed etc. Dr told me i should first lose 4kg. I told him i didn't want to move on the pills because of the side effects. Anyway, long story short, I weaned myself off.. it took about 1 month gradual reduction. Got headaches, but I persisted. Headaches went so did dizziness faintness and nausea. Feeling much better in myself and not depressed. I'm not suggesting toy so the same as me but just be aware that you need to take careful note of any side effects and tell a dr who will listen. Best wishes and good luck. I can't tell you how relieved I am to be off it.

Hello, Patsy! How are you? I'm sorry about the way you're feeling.

Yes, stopping it abruptly could cause rebound elevations in blood pressure and heart rate, which may put you in danger, so you shouldn't stop it, without your doctors approval and supervision.

What types of side effects are you experiencing? The FDA lists the typical ones for this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension.

Alternatively, you could also speak to your doctor about trying a different medication, if this is making you miserable.
