Metoprol Tar 25 Mg Side Effects

I have a metoprol plll bottle with a dosage of 25 mg 1 tab by mouth twice daily
This is a very small pill with a c 73 on it.. I am taking care of my sister and she is 83 she is so hard to wake up At times and I sometimes have to raise my voice to get her awake. I have been out of nursing since 88. And have not been familiar with the newer drugs.

Metoprolol is a beta blocker that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure, and certain cardiac conditions.

It can cause drowsiness, as a side effect, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination, but it doesn't usually cause a deep sleep like that.

What other medications is she on? This problem could be due to a combination of medications, or a medical condition.

I have been on Metoprolol 25mg daily for a few years since my MI. I take my dose at night but have taken it during the day. I get a little slow but not close to putting me to sleep. She must be on a sleep aid or a med that will cause extreme drowsiness. BTW I'm a 62 y/o male.
