Re: Bruce (# 18) Expand Referenced Message

Do you order online? I'm in S.A. and need some. Is there a supplier I can get it from in RSA?

Hello, the phone number you shared is wrong. On the argyrol.com website it lists 657-208-3655.

Re: Lynn Thacker (# 8) Expand Referenced Message

Me too. It worked almost instantly, cleared up my sinuses and was so much better than all these pills today.

I'm 82, but when little i got a lot of sore throats. My dad would swab my throat and lift off the white matter on my tonsils. Within two days I'd be just fine. He did this on the advice of a cousin who was a doctor. And I still have my tonsils!

Argerol (its name went something like that) was a liquid that couldn't last long so usually the pharmacy would make a small amount, but it's not used or made like that anymore. Does anyone have more information on this med?

Re: Steve (# 1) Expand Referenced Message

Try an apothecary shop. They are known for making compound meds. I use to get "argerol" there. Haven't had use for it for years. If you do find it, let me know. Good to keep in the medicine cabinet. No expiration date.I

Re: Dan (# 17) Expand Referenced Message

I also found a place in Cal to buy argyrol! As a child we always used it for pink eye and when my kids were growing up it was a medicine cabinet staple! I'm 82 now, so it didn't seem to hurt me or my kids as they vary from 50 to 62 yrs of age. I also use it on my cats! They can even take small amounts orally if diluted by half. Even seems to help them if they are sneezing and snotting!

In 1952 I was in my last days of pregnancy and I developed a nasal infection that was so bad I could not breathe through my nose. My husband took me to a doctor friend late attended at night through a snow storm. The doctor had me sit in his office and he took these long cuties soaked in argyole and put them into my nose very deeply. He then went out and shovelled snow with my husband
while I sat there for at least 45 minutes. He then came in and took them out. What a relief I was able to take a deep breath. No more stopped up nose. Like magic. I'll never forget that night and how much better I felt.

Argyrol® is reportedly available in 15 mL bottles, for $25.50 plus shipping and handling. If you can't find Argyrol® in your local pharmacy, try calling 1-657-208-3655 or visit their website at argyrol.com

The original Argyrol had Bromine in it --- that is what gave it the brown color. The coloidal silver that some are saying is the same Argyrol, does not have Bromine in it.

In our family we believe in the power of silver nitrate.
We still use it in the 4th generation babies, for sinus, ear and flu with mucus

I find it in Haiti, as Argyrol. Either 2% or 5%

So, maybe, colloidal silver could be used in place of argerol, though it's missing the nitrate, the silver might be of use.... I recall silver nitrate, at one time quite long ago, was standard protocol to put in the eyes of newborns to guard against any possible transmission (of STIs) as baby came through the birth canal.
