Have been on bisoprolol for 15 years, now keep feeling nauseous, could this be related ## Hello, Vib! How are you? It is possible, the FDA does list it as being a side effect, along with dizziness, headache, increase urination, and hypotension. Has anything else changed, recently, such as the dosage? Adding another medication? Changing your diet, or activity levels?

I noticed tonight that it appears I have taken an extra dose of my bisoprolol but I'm not sure if it was today or not I take 2.5 MG per day and am 34 years old. I'm wondering if I should be worried about this or not! ## Hello, Becky! How are you? Did you experience any adverse effects? Taking an extra dose once isn't usually a huge concern, especially at such a low dose, though it may cause more side effects than usual, which the U.S. FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, and hypotension. However, it is always best to double check with your doctor, emergency services, or poison control, to be safe.

I changed my BP drugs to Adco Bisocor - a small dose of 5mg a day for marginally raised BP. The previous drugs were causing hair loss and severe weight loss, as well as loss of appetite. At first the Adco Bisocor seemed fine - I've been on it about 4 years now. The hair loss and weight loss were almost totally reversed. However, I have now once again been losing weight, some hair, and have been extremely dehydrated to the extent that my mouth is almost too dry to speak. Can this be the drug? ## Have you consulted your doctor? The active ingredient in this is Bisoprolol, which is a beta blocker and yes, it is always possible for a medication to suddenly start causing new side effects, because our bodies are always changing. However, you should check with a doctor to determine whether...

I am taking bisoprolol(concor1.25) for MVP. and eltroxin 25 mcg for hypothyroid disorder ..how long I can continue with this medicine. ## You should continue them for as long as your doctor deems them appropriate to treat your conditions. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, weight changes, hypotension, and hair loss. There may come a time, when your body gets used to them, so they stop working, as well, and if so, you may need a dosage adjustment, or switch to alternative medications. Is there anything else I can help with?

What is the difference between Bisoprolol Fumarate and Enderol? Both beta-blockers, that's all I know ## I have received no replies to my question so far. I reside in Alberta and am presently taking 10 mg/dy of Bisoprolol Fumarate. I have talked to others who suggested that Enderol is an equivalent drug that might be an alternative option. Is it? ## Inderal contains the active ingredient Propranolol, so it is also a beta blocker, just as you mentioned. The equivalent dosage may be different, but they treat the same things medically. The side effect profile is also the same and can include: nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain. Learn more: Is the Bisoprolol working for you? Is it causing problems from side effects? If it isn't, there really wouldn't be any point in sw...

Yes, they both contain the active ingredient Bisoprolol, so they are the same, just with different brand names. since i started taking this medication i find it very difficult to pass urine...is this normal?? ## Looks like this medication isn't manufactured in the US, but I was able to find the active ingredient to be Bisoprolol. Side effects for this drug are listed below (I believe one or more of these side effects can indirectly make it difficult to urinate): Overdose of Bisoprolol leads to fatigue, hypotension, low blood sugar, bronchospasms and bradycardia. Bronchospasms and low blood sugar because at high doses drug can be an antagonist for 2 adrenergic receptors located in lung and in liver. Bronchspasm due to blockage in lungs of 2 receptor and low blood sugar because of decreased stimulation of glycogenolysis and gluconeogenesis in the liver via 2 receptor. Those can be normal side effects of this medication, as listed by the FDA. You may also experience dizziness, headache and increased urination. Yes, they should improve, as your body gets used to the medication and eventually go away entirely, but it may take about 4 to 5 weeks. Hi, I am a 34 year old male. For the last 2-3 years I had palpitations and 1-2 episodes of Spvt (or short Atrial fibrillation lasting 10-30 seconds) per Month. (My cardiologist said that based on my symptoms). I have done Ecg, Echo, holter and a stress test. All results were fine. But, I was scared a lot by those episodes and over time, a doctor suggested me to take a low dose of some Beta blockers. I have happily accepted that... Before this, I was able to walk 1 hour every day (without any problems) and live a regular life (except playing sports since it could trigger the spvt sometimes). In January 2015, I started to take the lowest those of Nebivolol. Everything was fine for the first few weeks, but then I started to experience breathing problems, while walking, sitting, watching tv...

That was a second reading my first was 112. The dosage is 5 mg's a day and is small and pink. I also started Ramipril at the same time.10 mg capsule a day. ## Medications affect everyone in different ways, so yes, for some people they will work faster to lower blood pressure than for others. Ramipril is an ACE inhibitor and Bisoprolol is a Beta Blocker, so they work in different ways, but both are commonly used to help control blood pressure. They share a common side effect profile, which may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache. Read more: Do you have any other questions? ## hel...

I have been on bisoprolol for several months to control AFIB and hypertension. However, I do have asthma and have started wheezing and it does not go away. Metopolol did not work as well for the Afib. Is there another medication for the afib and blood pressure that would not cause the wheezing? ## Hello, Sani! How are you? Some of the other medications you can try include Carvedilol, Atenolol, Propranolol and Nadolol, however, they all risk causing the same side effects. It's really just a matter of trial and error to find which one works for you, without making you miserable. When I was going through that due to high blood pressure, it took almost a year to find the right ones for me. Is this drug going to be discontinued? ## Hello, Carma! How are you? Not that I'm aware of and several searches haven't turned up anything say that it is going to be discontinued. Just trying to find out what this drug is since the other two I put in is also a blood pressure. That will make me taking 3 blood pressure at one time. ## Hello, Jeanette! How are you? This is Bisoprolol with Hydrochlorothiazide and yes, it is used to help treat high blood pressure. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, increase urination and dehydration. It is common to prescribe multiple blood pressure medications, if someone's blood pressure is resistant to others. As long as they are all in different medication classes, there is usually no problem and one or more can be removed later, after your blood pressure levels improve. How high has your blood pressure been?
