Cross Tops Pills
UpdatedI am wondering if you can still obtain prescriptions for these diet pills, and if so, where can they be obtained?
I'm sorry, but I don't know what you are referring to.
Do you happen to remember the actual medication name, or the active ingredient?
I believe they were called Benzedrine or in non-medical vernacular, bennies or cross tops. In the 1970s I suffered a serious back injury and had to quickly take off some weight, so a doctor prescribed them for me and they worked perfectly. Can you tell me if the old Benzedrine diet pills are still legal and available in the U.S.?
Thank you
From what I can find, it appears that it is no longer available.
However, it was closely related to Amphetamines and there are many of those that are still on the market, which you may wish to ask your doctor about.
For reference purposes, Illinois Wesleyan University also lists “Cross Tops” as a form of Amphetamines on the following page:

No, but thank you for the information
Did you ever find your bennies?
I'm trying to find diet pills also known as cross tops because I need to lose weight due to health problems. Can't find them here in Oregon anymore but used to be able to get them. If they're unavailable please suggest something similar. Thank you for your assistance.
In California they are listed as an illegal Amphetamines in the same class as Meth.
The white round x top amphetamines were given to our soldiers in Vietnam to stay awake for 3 day shifts in the jungle. Don't believe they are available. Last time I heard of them was in 1980.
I am what I call obese. My height is 5'6 and I weight around 270-280lbs.
Would like to know about s-cross top or any other adrenaline pill to help with deal with fatigue.
Cross tops speed pills were little white pills with a cross on one side and 100 on the other - known as a caffeine drug in the early 1980s.
Re: Matthew97477 (# 10)
Phentermine is the new diet pill. Look up the information. It is an Rx drug.
I just remember ate was white with a cross on them and they was a lot of caffeine
I'm thinking maybe from Canada. Someone said they were given to our soldiers...LOL....but you can't buy them now.
Re: Dot (# 14)
I was given dexadrine, commonly called dexi hearts or just hearts, six per load out. There was also darvon and Tylenol 3 given out at the time I picked up med kit. There was other pharmies available to us up to and including thorazine. . This was going on in the years after the Vietnam War.
Re: Fred (# 12)
Yes. Phentermine is basically an updated version. I use it for weight loss and it works great. Too be honest I don't think it's as "fun" as cross tops were in the mid 80s. But I was 16- 20 at that time, so everything was more fun.
Re: Honda honey (# 13)
In Wisconsin they were called beans, or white cross, circa 1979
I haven’t seen Benzedrine since I looked in my grandmas medicine cabinet in 1988....next to her Seconals and Nembutals (you’d be hard pressed to find any of those prescribed today if they are even on the market) Adderall or Dexedrine would be the closest to Benzedrine. The problem is it is only FDA approved for add/adhd. If you can find a doctor to prescribe it off label though (or even Dexedrine which I think works better for weight loss) that would be your best bet. Actually Dexedrine was originally prescribed for weight loss as obetrol but then rebranded as an ADHD/ADD medication in the 90s I think.
There are weight loss clinics that prescribe Phentermine, but if you’ve ever had an amphetamine based medication before it will feel like Mountain Dew.
Oh I forgot, vyvanse is prescribed for binge eating disorder and it’s converted to d-amphetamine in the body so a doctor would prescribe it for weight loss, but it’s expensive as it’s still under patent.
Oh and there’s desoxyn which is pharma grade methamphetamine but I think you need severe narcolepsy for that one.
Good luck.
I haven't heard of any cross road stimulants in ages.
You could get cross tops at least in the early 90s. Cross tops would be a bb gun whereas adderrall is a bazooka. I could out run usain bolt on that stuff. Very addictive.

We referred to them as criss cross in the 70's. It was a form of speed and you can't find them now!! Where did they come from and how can I get more!? The diet pills back then were pink hearts called "pinks". Christmas trees. Green and white capsules. Black beauties. Black capsules. One of my favs. I remember peeking into my grandma's med cabinet and there were pill bottles from shelf to shelf, end to end! Small peanut butter size jars FILLED with shiny black capsules! The same with pinks! Xmas Trees, etc....I was in diet pill heaven...grandma didn't miss one!! I was VERY popular in high school!!!
I wish someone would start manufacturing the old crosstops of the 70s. They were awesome. Not the s*** that's in amphetamines of today. That s*** will kill you. The crosstops helped with weight loss without the shakes and helped if you needed to cram all night for exams. I was never addicted. Don't know if it was an addictive substance. But I would be a customer if they could be manufactured today using the same ingredients.
