Does Adderral Take Time To Level Out?

I've been prescribed 10mg Adderral twice a day for adult ADD/ADHD. This is the 1st time I've ever taken any kind of medication like this. When I take my 1st does, 9am, I feel like I just chugged a cup of coffee. I feel wired and almost unable to focus at all because I'm too hyper. It subsides in about an hour and I can feel the medication wearing off some. I take my 2nd dose around noon or 1am. Again, it gets me a little wired but wears off some later...
My questions are:

1. Does the initial hyped up feeling calm down after taking the meds for an extended time, as directed? I've only been taking it for 7 days now.
2. I also noticed that I'm more emotional , sad, crying easily at sad and cute things. Is this because of my ups and downs from the meds?
3. Dry mouth! I have to constantly have a bottle of water. Does this go away??

Any advice would be awesome... I really don't like this feeling of super hyper, then down, super hyper, then down. I think that maybe the XR would be a better fit but my doc said the pharmacy wouldn't fill anything different because it's been too soon. I'm hoping that after taking it for some time it will level out. But if not, I'd rather not take it at all and just be a stable scattered brain than a emotional one. Lol

Yes, it should eventually level out, once your body gets used to the medication, but that may take about 4 weeks.

Other side effects that you may experience, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, headache, anorexia, weight loss and insomnia.

Hi, call the dr. Office and tell them you would like to take half in the am and the other half at noon. This is a drug that will develop a tolerance over time with a possible increase in dose. If you're reacting so strongly now, why keep it at that level waiting to level out. Thats been my experience. Water is a good idea maybe a piece of sugarless gum.The dry mouth is part of the trade off. Emotions being so strong kinda leaves me thinking the dose is a bit high .eating healthy and keeping active is important.This is a tool.Wish it was the miracle drug,but thats the wish.
