Fiorinal Tablet Vs. Capsule
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I've taken Fiorinal Butalb/Asa/Caf (Westward pill) for 15 years, it's been very effective for my migraines. Since they've taken the tablet off the market and I can't get the old one anymore, i just filled the RX for the capsule. I haven't taken it yet, I'm nervous about it. Also annoyed as I used to split the tablet in half as I didn't always want to take an entire pill. Has anyone split the capsule? What are overall thoughts/experiences with the green capsules Butalbatol/Aspirin/Caffeine?

I have been taking Fiorinal since I was 19. The caps work fine for me in the brand (take only 1); generic form I take 2 at a time.

Hello, Sue! How are you?

No, it is not safe to split the capsule.

As to how well it works, it really varies from person to person. Some have said they work great, but others haven't had good luck with them.

The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and insomnia.

Is there anything else I can help with?
