Looking For Lorazepam That Is Exactly Like Watson Brand (Page 2)
(Newest replies first)

Updated

I've been taking Watson Pharmaceuticals Lorazepam and it worked great. Apparently, Actavis just took over Watson, and Watson no longer exists. I'm looking for another bran of Lorazepam that has the same Active & Inactive ingredients as the Watson brand, however, I can't locate the info on line and my pharmacy won't help me. Does anyone know what other manufacturer carries Lorazepam that is exactly the same as the Watson brand. Actavis and Sandoz manufacturer's Lorazepam does not work.

Re: Jo (# 55) Expand Referenced Message

Okay.....so my last prescription was filled with Actavis/Watson.....seemed to work for me.......after a while I noticed I was getting minor brief headaches....in all my 71 years I just didn’t get headaches.....and a bit of tachycardia when I moved a lot or even dreaming at night, I then noticed I was washing out faster with Actavis than I was with Leading....so next week I get a new 3 month prescription......so I called around to Costco’s, Walgreens, CVS's, NOBODY has Leading now...only Actavis...good grief, is there a monopoly now by Actavis in the space of 3 months? Not sure what options I have.....I still had some old Watson before it was moved to India.....even now they are better than Actavis......any suggestions?

I found out the bottle says Actavis but the actual Lorazepam pills say Watson. Works for me.

Re: Jo (# 52) Expand Referenced Message

You are correct, Jo. I spend a half hour talking to a pharmacist who on my behalf spoke with Actavis. Actavis has never made lorazepam.. they are a distributor for Watson since 2013 (actually 2012) when Teva bought Watson. The formula is identical and they use the same molds as Watson did. The only minor difference is the white dye of the pill...it’s slightly whiter....but it’s the exact same Watson pill....i’m sure you’ve read on this forum how awful Leading Pharma is...Well..i’ve Been on Ativan/lorazepam for 35 years and from what I’ve read here I take a bit more than a mg a day (actually i’ve Been on the same 6mg/day dose for all 35 years....and Leading worked just fine.....we all have to keep in mind WHY we are taking benzos ...anxiety, panic disorder, etc...along with that comes a little (or a lot) health anxiety when someone messes with our meds.....one has to keep in mind though not EVERY generic is meant for everyone......the inactive ingredients can control how your body absorbs the meds..but also with anxiety whether on generic or name brand (i’ve It happen on both)...sudden;y we get a new symptom and we naturally blame the new generic.....when I was on name brand Ativan i’d Get new symptoms and if I had just switched to a generic I absolutely would have blamed it. I too have GERD...it comes and goes....that’s how GERD works.....one can blame a generic but most likely it’s too much tomoato sauce or coffee....

FYI! Actavis still sells the Watson Pills. They actually say Watson on the pill. But Actavis took them over so the outside of your RX bottle will say Actavis, but it's still the Watson Pill.

Re: Richard (# 50) Expand Referenced Message
I have also taken 2mg tabs twice a day Watson Brand for more than 35 years. Today, I started to pick up my refill and it was a "no name" at Walmart. Pharmacist was very vague about it and said Watson might be available by the end of the month. I told her I would discuss with my doctor tomorrow and get a new presc. I have taken the "no names" before and they made me have bad dreams and restless sleep. I really don't know what I'll do if it is no longer available. I have anxiety and need the lorazepam to keep me "even". I checked out Watson and it appears they are manufactured in India and distributed by Activis Pharma in N. J. This is very upsetting to me.

Does ANYONE have anything positive or good to say about lorazepam made by a Leading Pharmaceuticals? I’ve been on Ativan/lorazepam for over 35 years (2mg 3 x day).....since retiring 6 years ago I went on Costco’s Watson lorazepam which seemed to work very well for me (despite depression that started 2 years ago that possibly could come from a change when Watson was bought...I have no idea).....however...last week I picked up my prescription only to find my lorazepam was now MAJOR PHARMA (insert says Leading Pharmaceuticals).....and after reading this forum....I very concerned....sooo..again..has anyone had good results with Leading?

Dailymedscom is a great site to find out about inactive ingredients if you say the brand of medication and the dose it's normally the first site that comes up on Google. Scroll all the way down the first page and one of the last things that states is appearance and ingredients. Tap there and it will show you the strength you were taking and the inactive ingredients and if you scroll all the way down it will also show the packaging plant. Often you'll see Purr Pac on your bottle thinking that's the brand name but it's only the place it was packaged at. This seems to throw many people off. But it is an excellent site if you're looking for more information about your medicine. I hope this helps

Watson has merged with Actavis, so Watson lorazepam no longer exists. Some pharmacies may still have a remaining order of Watson, though. However, on my Actavis lorazepam, the tablets themselves are still stamped with Watson! Apparently, it still has Watson stamped on the tablets, though it's the inferior Actavis formulation. How confusing and misleading.

Are there any good, effective manufacturers for lorazepam these days? Sandoz doesn't work well on me, either. How are Leading Pharma, PAR, Mylan, and Teva for lorazepam? Was anyone able to get the name brand, Ativan? How much was the copay, and how did it work?

Thanks.

Did you ever obtain the Watson brand of Ativan? I am looking for a pharmacy that carries the Watson brand of Ativan.

Any updates? It's now May 2017. Watson worked well for me, but it's now Actavis. Actavis is crap, and so is Sandoz.

Does DAW really get you the name brand with $0 copay? Doesn't it depends on your insurance what the copay would be? I would think the person who wrote that gets $0 copay with all meds, including generics - and that's why the name brand is $0 for him as well.

Does name brand Ativan even exist anymore? Someone said it no longer existed. I'm up to wits end trying to find a lorazepam that's as good as Watson!

I'm confused I've been having a problem with the Watson lately but the pill says Watson in the bottle says activist. They told me it's the same as the old Watson is this true?

Hi Ghost,

Again, I don't understand what insurance plan you're on that allows you to get Ativan for a 0 co-pay. Can you shed some light on this. Thanks.

Hi Ghost,

I don't get it??? How can you go to Walgreens and have them fill an RX for Ativan and get it for a 0 co-pay. You must have a great insurance plan.

Hi Ghost,

HUH??? Don't understand how you get a brand name (Ativan) for zero at Walgreens: " I don't know where you live but if you can get to a Walgreens have your Dr DAW (dispense as written) your script you'll get name brand for $0"

Have you done this, how does that work??? Please answer. Would love to know. Do you use an RX Discount Card and get Ativan (name brand for Lorazepam)?. HUGELY expensive EVEN with a discount. ?????

Hi Ghost,

OK so you recommend Greenstone and Mylan. Another person rec'd Sandoz. Then went on to recommend Sandoz's Adderall (which is really for ADHD and Narcolepsy ...??? .. not sure if that would be appropriate for anxiety). Thanks.

Hi Ghost,

No Watson was bought out by miserable Actavis. Obviously they lowered the active ingredients. Apparently there is great leeway to exceed the limit of fillers. So Actavis is a BAD brand of Lorazepam, sorry.
