i had found some oxycontin leftover from my stepmother in-law's bout with cancer, and in a smaller bottle that was in with them. in this bottle i found a bunch of small white round pills, about 1/4 of an inch in diameter. on one side is the number 25, on the other is an uppercase I, slanted slightly. i don't know what these pills are but would love some imput! ## THAT IS NOT OXYCONTIN. A WHITE OXY IS SMALL ROUND ON ONE SIDE IS A OC, OTHER SIDE IS A 10 FOR MILLIGRAMS. PINK ONE, OC ON ONE SIDE, OTHER SIDE A 20, FOR 20 MILLIGRAMS. THEN THEY SKIP TO 40mg.ETC. ETC. THEY ARE MADE BY PURDUE PHARM. I CHECKED MY PDR BUT HAD NO LUCK FINDING YOUR PILL SO I CANNOT SAY. GOOD LUCK. ## And Sheri is incorrect, what she is talking about are just the name brand Oxy's, there have been generics...

I fell 25 feet and shattered my heal bone into 10 pieces had major foot surgery back in December 2016. Ortho put me OxyContin 30 for 2 weeks. The. He switched me to narco 10-325. I was taking 2 every 4 hours for almost 3 months. Then I had to see a pain doctor, which he gave me 120 a month for a little over 3 months. I was tired of taking them. So he put me on saboxon 8 mg strips. I tried taking a whole strip which made me very sick. So I cut them into 4 pices. He gave me 14 packs to start with I made them last about 3 weeks. I stopped taking them a week ago. On the 8th day with out them I started have withdrawals from them this is the third day and the withdrawals are horrible. Does any one no how long the withdrawals should last. Thanks ## It is hard to say, since much of it depends o...

Does anyone know of any primary care physicians in the Shreveport/Bossier City/Haughton/Minden area that do pain management? I have been going to a pain management doctor here in Shreveport for about 6 years now, but it is just getting to expensive. He refuses to to go any higher on my dosage of Oxycontin, which is 30 mg 3 times a day. And he will not give me anything for break through pain. I am on Medicaid so I have to pay him out of pocket. Medicaid pays for 60 of my oxy's, but I have to pay for the other 30. If I knew of a primary care physician that accepts does some pain management and also accepts medicaid it would be a really big help. I'd really appreciate anyone that could help me out and answer this. Thank you. ## There aren't any PCP's who do Pain Management ...

These pills do not work for pain, the hospitals are not using it for pain control after surgery because people are screaming of no pain relief. Purdue Pharma did the change out slowly by zip codes so they could handle the complaints they take your info, they say they will pray for you they are sorry they had to do something to control the problem. It was approved under it's old license. Complain to the FDA about any problems associated with these drugs. The real oc's are still world wide because other countries don't allow their citizens to be cheated they make the manufacturer relicense. Canada is the way to go. Walmart Sannich road has a walmart pharmacy that carries the oxycontin in the original formula for 120 eighties it is 500.00 US. Good luck you will need a passport ...

I have been on oxycontin for years...I have terminal illness and suffer every day...only relief i had was from oxycontin and now that they changed the formula my stomach constantly kills me ...i want to just yell....u aren't protecting anyone, you are hurting the ones that need help...junkies will be junkies....thanks for making me have to take roxicodone 4 times a day... ## I am very sorry to read of the problems you are having, however, this site does not manufacture any medication, we are solely and information website. There have been many complaints about the new formulation of Oxycontin not working as well and causing odd side effects. The only thing I can suggest to you is that you contact both the manufacturer Purdue and the FDA to report the issue: Purdue Pharma number for ...

I am trying to find a doctor in san francisco, ca that isnt going to be a huge hassle in prescribing oxycontin....anyone know a good doctor? I have full insurance ## I am not familiar with doctors in California, but if you have a legitimate reason to have it, you may just want to look into pain management clinics. They are generally more open to prescribing such medications, than regular doctors. Most doctors have to worry, because they government closely supervises their prescribing practices and they are held responsible if found to prescribe certain drugs for invalid reasons. Oxycodone is a very potent narcotic analgesic. Common side effects can include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Well unfortunately I really messed up and started taking OC twice a day 12 hours a part. I worked my way up to taking 40-60 mg in the morning and 80 mgs at night. i originally started using after severe depression and anxiety and wanting to feel better to fill an emotional void left by a really bad year in my life which led me to start using. No BS here, I wanted to feel better and unfortunately started using and am on week 14 of my addiction. I have had enough though and am just writing to share my story and experience and will continue to write during my detox. I feel ashamed, nervous, scared, and angry that I began using. It is against everything I knew and knew better. I finally came to the conclusion that I need to stop and came clean with my wife who is being totally supportive. I...

I have been on regular Oxycodone- one 20mg pill every 4-6 hrs a day for approx 6 mos I used to be prescribed 10 MG TWO PILLS every 4-6hrs prior to the switch by my doc. Now, my pain has greatly increased and NOW he has given me 30 mg 4x a day and another script for oxycontin 60mg 2x a day. NOW, I am really drowsy ALL DAY where I was not at all before after this recent change in script. I also DO NOT get the same pain relief. Seems weird----go up in strength and dosage yet now just very tired all the time and less pain effective too..WHY, WHY?. I have read somewhere that the brand of oxycodone I take (KVK) ESPECIALLY the former 20mg was almost worthless for pain, yet their 10 mg was very effective. When ever I would take 2 of the KVK 10mg in past, it INDEED WAS MORE EFFECTIVE than just O...

I was on the Oxycontin 80mg 3x a day for 16 yrs. I have been tried on alot of other things . I went on methadone w/ 2 40mg of oxy then they quit making the methadone that iI took. None of the kadian or other things in that class have worked. I am now taking ms contin 100mg. a day w/15 mg. 2x a day it is not enough and my Dr. who gave me a hard time off and on about the oxy's now refuses to do the irs that are still available with any other meds. I've took the opana and at the time it seemed fine but pricey that has been a couple of years ago just to see. They have a cap I did not take the er's though. My Dr. is funny about writing large numbers of meds. This ms contin could work but he will not for instance give 60 more mgs. He would rater write 200mgs.3x a day because of am...

Yes having the same problem. I have four herniated discs and the original OC 80 would do the job but OP's to come close to doing the same job your talking twice the dose easily. Any info would be awesome ## Hello, Unfortunately I'm having trouble finding the answer to your question on the web, I even checked the FDA site and wasn't able to find any information on the topic. I read a report from 2011 that Purdue pharma stopped making Oxycontin..but that I'm to sure if anything has changed since then. Have you checked with any local pharmacies? Since they are the ones who provide medication, they would very likely know what is/isn't in stock at this time... You may even try contacting Purdue Pharma, it never hurts to go straight to the source! If you have any more ques...

I found A white Oblong/oval pill that has a 20 inside a V on one side then on the other side it is scored in half with an S on either side ## This pill is a 20mg Instant Release OxyContin. It is a very strong pain reliever that is used medically and recreationally. Wikipedia oxycontin to learn more about it. ## This particular tablet is listed as only being available in Canada, and manufactured by Sandoz Canada. The FDA warns that Oxycodone carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache. Is anyone else familiar with this tablet?

It's a pink small round pill with op on one side and 20 on the other side ## This is the new replacement for the Oxycontin 20 mg. The color is an exact match for the OC 20, but the new pills are noticeably thicker. This thing has the consistency of candle wax. ## That is correct, it is the new Oxycotnin OP. They have been reformulated to help prevent abuse of the medication. They cannot be crushed and broken down, they retain their time released properties. Side effects remain the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. is Oxycontin going back to their old formula? OC instead of OP. ## At this time, Purdue has no plans to return to the original formula. They released this new one, with the specific intention of helping to prevent abuse of the product and discontinued making the original, when they did so. They claim, however, that it works the same and causes the same side effects: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. At least I knew the olf formula eventually disolved, I'm not sure about this new version. Hopefully someone will make a similiar version as soon as they are allowed. The Massachusetts attorney general is targeting Purdue Pharma and eight members of the Sackler family who own the company, alleging in a lawsuit they are "personally responsible" for deceptively selling OxyContin. The attorney general, Maura Healey, sat down with CBS This Morning. She alleges the Sackler family hired "hundreds of workers to carry out their wishes" – pushing doctors to get "more patients on opioids, at higher doses, for longer, than ever before" all while paying "themselves billions of dollars." In her lawsuit, Healey names eight members of the family that own Purdue Pharma, alleging they "micromanaged" a "deceptive sales campaign." In the conclusion to the complaint, Healey said the Sackler family used the power at t...

Oxycodones are the best and worst things. They bring love and they bring hate. They saw me through the best times and gave the very worst. The ups and downs follow. But no matter how much i hate them I love them ten times more. And that's the problem. I think I might be dependent. Anyone else? ## If you think that is addiction you best never take methadone. The oxy is min. compared to some others. Never ever take any pain meds for a duration, or addict or not, your body will respond by dependence. Not good unless your having a surgery, chronic pain cannot work etc. If you were not an addict you are now. However, you can choose to sit through the withdraw periods and they will pass I promise you. Just keep busy and move forward. If you find yourself taking more yes you are an addict ...

I have been taking 10 mg of oxycontin at night, but I hate extended release medication so I am switching to 10 mg Oxycodone. I am concerned I will have withdrawals. If there’s only 10 mg of the medication in both formulas, the only difference should be that the instant release wear off faster, right? ## Yes, exactly, the Oxycontin is just a time released formulation of Oxycodone, so there shouldn't be a huge difference from switching. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth Are you on any other medications? ## Lol yeah, but I have been going to pain management since 2017 so I have a doctor dealing with all that. Thanks for your prompt reply. ## You a...

What is the different OXYCOTIN 80 MG O/C & OXA FORTE 50 MG. ## IS THE SAME EFECT BETWEN OXYCONTIN O/C 80 MG AND OXA FORTE 50 MG.? ## Oxycontin contains the opiate Oxycodone in a time released formulation, while Oxa Forte contains Codeine, and Diclofenac, so the latter couples an opiate with a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Both carry the risk of being habit forming, but the Codeine is much milder than the Oxycodone. They may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and constipation. Thus, while they are both opiates used to alleviate pain, they are not equivalent, because the Oxycontin is much stronger Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been on oxycontin 80 mg for years, I suffer from severe degenerative disc disease and c.p. These new OPs are junk, its almost like they added rubber cement to the pills. Breaking them down w/sandpaper or a cheese gratter isnt going to do anything other than gum up as soon as it hits your nose, because u r haven't removed the time release from the pill. Heat and/or moisture are what cause it to gum up....all your gonna end up w/is a really expensive booger.... people have to figure out how to remove this new time release polymer. W/the old OCs u could remove the time realease by cooking crushed OC, the time release was more like a wax so it was possible to remove w/heat then cold...someone who understands chemical equations and formulas needs to take a look at the new formul...
