Hi, I was recently diagnosed with ulcerative colitis and 3 meds were added to what I already take (I also have MS). I started using a weekly med organizer to mainly keep track of steroid tapering. I forgot to put my Ramipril and didn't realize until I began sweating profusely and headache. I think it was 3 missed days. I have been on this medication for approx 4 years. I take 5mg daily. I am 54 yr old female. I Accidentally took two 5mg Ramipril and my dose is one. I had a panic attack in my sleep due to anxiety which sent my BP rocketing g and the fastest palpitations I have ever felt. I thought I was about to have a heart attack so called an ambulance, I was taken to A&E as I was getting numbness in my left arm. My ECG and bloods were normal but my BP was 184/111 it took hours before it went down. So a few days later I was at my doctors who said I now have to take Ramipril with 5mg Amlodipine, he didn't say when I should take them, plus he has changed my Simvastatin to Artorvastatin plus I take Metformin twice a day for type 2. My pharmacist changed my generic Ramipril manufacturer and told me it was Watson. He claimed it was the "best" and had a great reputation. I found 2 other listings, never Watson. Is this just the same old line when it's really the pharmacy's bottom line? ## There's really no telling who the manufacturer is unless you're able to provide a pill imprint and description to look up. I take ramipril 7.5mg in morning about 7-30am. dr says to take same dose at 10-00pm same day and keep taking at night there after. is this safe. I'm really scared. I have fibromyalgia and got really mixed up tonight and took the wrong pills. I've been taking 2.5MG a day for the past 2 years with no side effects. In the last 10 week's, I've developed a cough? Is this late onset usual? ## Hello, Martin! How are you? Could the severe cystitis symptoms I am experiencing together with lower abdomen pain be caused by the 5mg of Ramipril I was prescribed for BP? After angoeoplsty i had bp around 120/75 for 2 mnths but dr when reduced Met Xl 25 to 12.5 my bp went up to 146/85 n heart rate frm low 50s to 85 90 now 2nd Dr gave me metxl 50 cardace (ramipril )2.5 eptus 25 after bfa st ecospurin 75 (reduced after 5 months rm 150) prax 10 after lunch Attorva 40 (increased from 20)cardac2 2.5 after dinner) my question ll this continue now BP 130/77 n heart rate between 62 to 70. Been on Ramipril 2.5mg for eight years or more and new Dr.changed them to 5mg.I have recently had a blood test to check kidney function/liver,etc and had a call from Dr.to say my potassium levels were high....is this due to the increase in strength of the Ramipril? Have been taking Ramipril (Altace) 10mg for probably 10 years and they have ALWAYS been white and BLUE capsules. Last week when I renewed this prescription, they were white and PURPLE. I phoned the pharmacist, and he said they were ok, that these were from a company in Israel. Don't know if this brand has caused a bad sinus / cold like infection? I want to know if my partners symptoms could be caused by ramipril. For the past few days he's had sickness, dizzy spells, passing out, he seems anxious about things and very short tempered, he sleeps all the time but is permanently exhausted, loss of appetite, strange dreams. It started boxing day. We went to his gp but he dismissed the cause was due to the drug and suggested stress. We asked if we should come on our holiday and the gp advised we did and to continue to take his ramipril. We've spent the whole week in our room and are just wanting to come home. UK, NW England, I had high blood pressure and was started on Ramipril, went up to 10mg but still had high BP so amlodipine was introduced and I eventually, after being put on 10mg a day my blood Pressure was stabilized. The side effects I noticed are, first I found erections were not as easy as before any medication and second I seem to be getting indigestion quite a lot. On Occasion I get light headed. I would obviously prefer to NOT take any medication at all but have been advised that is not a good idea. I didn't really notice any of these side effects on ramipril, only after Amlodipine was added. up to 10 mg.
