Starting Viibryd

I am 29 and have been dealing with depression and anxiety since I was 15. I have been on and off everything and it seems to work for a few months and then I get no benefit from it even with increased doses. In 2008 I started passing out or becoming unresponsive for a few seconds up to 15 minutes. They told me I was having non epileptic seizures due to stress. It was a stressful time in my life. I saw a psy and went on cymbalta and things seemed to improve but they never went away. Then they thought it was migraine related and I went on topamax and things seemed to improve. I went off cymbalta and stayed on topamax and things were the same. Then I went off everything and had been doing well until a few months ago. I first noticed it while I was driving I felt like I was going to be hit or someone was going to hit me. I tried to find a new psy as mine had left the area. It was more difficult then I imagined, I found and awesome dr and on the 3rd vst mid crisis she said I cant see you your case is to complex. My friend took me to the ER as she didnt know what to do. They gave me xanax and that took the edge off but made me so loopy and stupid. I was out of work for 8 weeks as I could barely function with daily activities. I would take 10mg of xanax and it would barely take the edge off and 20mg would knock me out. I had no choice but to go back to work but thankfully found a new psy and she seems good. She gave me a sample of viibryd and I'm on day 4. I am hoping the things I'm noticing will go away. From other sites I've heard the the stomach issues do resolve and I notices if I took it with a greasy higher fat food I was ok. I noticed some stabbing eye pains today and a headache but my allergies are really bad so I'm hoping its just stuffed sinuses from allergies. So that's my story so far. I was just wondering if the side effects get better or worse the longer you take it. I know everyone is different but I'm really hoping this works because I have run out of options.

Hi Dani,

There is another thread on here with 82 messages. You would probably see more of what other people are experiencing by posting on that thread. I have found several other places where people are talking about the med. Just have to look out on the net. But we have some great people posting here...on the other thread.
My story is over there also...

I also take Xanax..you sure 10mg? Do you mean 1mg? Mine are .5mg. There are 2mg in a "4 bar".

The xanax though...you sure 10mg and 20mg? Mine are .5mg. The largest pill is 2mg.

It is a very new medication, so anyone's experience with it is still very limited, but like any other medication, some people are getting very good results and some aren't.

The most commonly reported side effects from its testing including: nausea, diarrhea and somnolence.

I started on 10mg and then 20mg because I felt Great Depression so I went up to 40. Had diarrhea and sleepless nights and a lot of sweating. I was very angry at first and then after 2 weeks that went away. Also I can sleep now and my stomach is better. Think you have to give it a chance. I did feel like my body was a little speedy, like in my hands but that is also diminishing. I have been suffering from OCD, depression and anxiety since I was 10. Runs in the family on my father's side. Was on Celexa for 25 years. Helped me greatly for years but it all came back. Went on Zoloft and completely freaked out!!! Then Viibryd. You just keep hoping things will work. I think I was thinking so much about if my medicine was working it was stopping the meds from working. Obsessing about my medication didn't help as you know we are trying to get rid of these constant thoughts. I feel all meds are different so you have to keep trying. I hope after 6 weeks I will feel fantastic!!! Have hope. I know it is extremely hard for all of us.
