Before I start going to see a social worker and should start back on Zoloft after many years ## Hello, Yvette! How are you? You could try it, again, and it may still work for you. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, anxiety, headache, dry mouth and weight gain. However, there is also a chance that it will no longer work for you and you may need to try something else. Is there something else I can help with? ## I took Zoloft for about 8-10 years the it stopped working. They changed me over to cymbalta and been fine since. Does the effectiveness of Zoloft decrease with time ? Never, rarely, sometime,often,etc.----per cent of time ?p ## Hello, Colgan! How are you? There is no specific time frame or percentage that I can give you, because it can vary from person to person, but eventually our bodies get used to anything we take regularly and it stops working as well, which means the dosage may need to be adjusted, or the person may need to try a different medication. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Zoloft as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have generalized anxiety, adhd, bipolar type 1 and antisocial personality disorder. Long story short, after many years and various types of treatments, things got worse, so I have been off medications for nearly 2 years and regularly have marijuana to keep me sane as it is the only thing that makes me feel normal or relieves most of my symptoms. Due to unfortunate circumstances, I am being made to take Zoloft now. I am on week 1, but I have been consuming marijuana regularly on top of it. I just wanna know, does it stop Zoloft from working properly or am I fine? ## @Trump. I am not an expert on Mary Jane. I have most of your the psych. diagnosis. you have listed. about 2 weeks ago(17 days ago),my doctor upped me from 50 mg to 100 mg. (she had me try out 75 mg for a month and then switched to the 100 mg 17 days ago). the first few days at 100 mg,i got the dizzy spells. that went away. now the last few days(so have been on the increased dosage for 14 days) i get SO nauseous all day. i have the typical diarrhea too the past few days as well, had that when i first started a year ago and it went away with a couple weeks. is it normal for the nausea to come on so long after increasing it? is it because I have "enough of the medicine in my system"? i just feel so sick to my stomach. will that go away? ## Yes, that can happen, as the new dosage builds up in your body to therapeutic levels. You may also experience other side effects, such as dry m...

It's not mine, and I'm wondering also if anyone knows the answer to this one?? ## It's generic Zoloft - 100 mg (SERTraline) An antidepressant- no recreational value/use ## This identification is correct, but I'd like to add some other details for other site visitors. Zoloft/Sertraline is an SSRi antidepressant that also has other medical uses, such as treating OCD, panic disorder and anxiety. In some people, it may cause the opposite of its intended effects, so if anyone taking it experiences depression and suicidal thoughts, they should immediately seek medical assistance. I have been taking Zoloft for anxiety for about 32 years now. I don't feel any different. I am wondering if it loses it affect on people after being used for a while. My question is, is there anything better for anxiety issues? I do not suffer from depression! What should I ask my doctor to change me to? Thanks! ## Have you ever tried or considered Xanax ? ## DONT take xanax ever! It is highly addictive. And if you get hooked the detox process is so painful that I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. ## Your body will adjust to the dosage of any medication if used for a prolonged period of time and it will stop being as effective for you. There are several Benzodiazepines available, other than just Xanax, there is also Klonopin, which is commonly used to treat nerve and anxiety d...

Im using zoloft for 3 years and now ive received accurate tablets for tension headaches. Can i use them together. TIA ## Hello, Tash! How are you? You can, as long as your doctor approves, but the Zoloft may reduce the efficacy of the Codeine. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. The typical Zoloft side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## How much is lexapro 30 mg in Zoloft Vermon? How long does it stay in your system. ## Zoloft contains the active ingredient Sertraline, which is an SSRI antidepressant and this class of medications is not tested for on drug tests. Learn more Zoloft details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My doctor wants to make sure my zoloft is in my system and i havent been taking it so i took one this morning. Since this antidepressant can lead to weight gain, would it work if I took it every third day as i notice its half-life is three days. So I have 2 questions: 1) Would it work properly like this? 2) Would taking it this lessen its weight-gain/metabolism change propensity? Its a great antidepressant. ## Hello, Lorna! How are you? You should take it as directed by your doctor. For it to be effective, it needs to remain at a constant level in your body and that really wouldn't change it's side effects, anyway. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. There are some antidepressants that are weight neutral, or that even cause weight loss in some people. Have you considered trying a different medication? ## Thank you ...

While it may or may not be addiction. On a Saturday near the evening, I started taking my daily dose every 1-3 hours, I continued this for the entire night, as I was playing COD BO3 with my friend, at this time, it is usual to feel tired. But I didn't. So, I never went to bed, my friend awoke a few hours later, and we decided to go another night without sleep (double XP weekend). He clocked out at around 3Am. I was feeling as if I had been awake for no more than a few hours, at most. Not tired at all. so, I played the game, a lot, went for a walk. The clock was 9 am or something, and my friend wakes up, we make food, we talk, we walk, and I still wasn't tired, despite being awake for 40 or so hours. Note: I continued taking 1 pill every 1-3 hours during the entire weekend, stupi...

I was on 30 mg of lexapro for 2 years when it pooped out. I was wondering what dose would be comparable to that of zoloft. I know everyone reacts differently and there's not an exact dose eequivalency but from people's experience or charts what is the closest dose of that in zoloft, so I can have an idea of where i want to be without starting from day 1 again. Thanks in advance

My wife has very bad anxiety. She can't sleep more than an hour or two a night. Her dr. says it's depression, which she doesn't have. I'm just wondering if Zoloft is right choice for her. She has been taking it but doesn't seem to be helping. ## Zoloft can help with both conditions, my husband takes it for anxiety. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain. What dosage is she on and how long has she been taking it? It takes about 4 to 5 weeks for this medication to reach its full level of effectiveness in your body.

Stopped taking Zoloft cold turkey about 4 months ago had been taking it for over 2 yrs 75 mg. how long do withdrawals last? ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? It usually only takes a month or so, so if you're still experiencing symptoms after 4 months, you should have yourself checked out, as there may be something else causing them. The FDA lists the typical withdrawal symptoms as possibly including rebound depression, rebound anxiety, diarrhea, fever, chills and dizziness. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have pretty bad anxiety with menopause. The hormones are off the wall but no night sweats or any other symptoms. I am on Zoloft and now my OBGYN put me on the Combipatch. I am on it for 2 1/2 weeks and have been doing great and then I got an anxiety attack. Does anyone know why? ## Hi Irene, I use to get panick attacks really bad. My doctor told me it can be caused by anxiety or stress. He put me on Klonopin, which is a benzodiazepine. It's helped me really well. I was also told that regular exercise can help with anxiety and stress. ## P.S. If there's no improvement or it gets worse, speak to your doctor about it. ## Hello, Irene! How are you? Your hormones fluctuate throughout the month, so you most likely had a sudden change in the levels of them in your body, which cause y...

Hi I am 25 years old and I have been on zoloft for about 5 weeks now. I am on 75mg. I am on it for panic attacks. So the panic attacks went away at about week 2 on the medicine but around week 3 I started getting REALLY bad headaches that last all day. Then about a week ago the headaches sort of went away but now I suddenly feel cross eyed. It doesn't look like I am cross eyed though. I went to the hospital Thursday because I was so scared I thought i had a tumor or i was going blind or something and the MRI came back fine and blood work is all ok they said it could be vertigo and gave me anti vert which is a medicine to treat that. That medicine doesn't work at all for me I tried taking it for 2 days and I still have this weird cross eyed vision thing. It actually gives me a he...

I am moving from FL to MN in a couple of weeks and looking for a doctor who will continue my medications for back pain, high blood pressure, stomach issues. ## Hello, Jenifer! How are you? Depending on what you take for back pain, you may need to see a pain management specialist now for that, since GPs can no longer prescribe long-term use narcotics. Can anyone suggest a good PCP in the area? ## Just to let you know what has happened with finding a doctor. After spending hours reviewing web site that had reviews of doctors. Of course all the doctors who I thought could help were not taking new patients or had multi month wait lists. I finally went to the phone book a called a family practice clinic near my home at got a appointment. When I saw the doctor I had the past year of my medica...

I began taking zoloft after my second child was born. My husband also started taking it to calm him down because we were both having some mood swings and arguing a good bit since we now had 2 little ones in the house. We've been on it for about 10 months or so. We both started on 50 mg but a few months ago went to 100 mg. I noticed myself really not caring if my house was even cleaned anymore. I cut back and started taking 50 mg again. My husband has also changed. He also doesn't want to get off the couch some days and doesn't care how the house looks and we've been arguing about it. Since I've gone down to 50 mg, I've been feeling kind of paranoid that he doesn't feel the same about me and that he doesn't care anymore. He said he thinks he needs to get o...

How are you? No, it shouldn't take that long for the withdrawal effects to stop and for you to start to feel more normal. Usually, it only takes a month, or so. Typical withdrawal effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, diarrhea, rebound anxiety, pain and rebound repression. Are you on any other medications? Have you consulted your doctor?

Started me at 50 mg for 4 weeks, slept very little. I was prescribed Ativan 1 mg helped me sleep about 6 to 7 hours. My Doc took me off after prescribing me 5 pills 3 times, total of 15. My Zoloft was raised from 50 mg to 100mg, now I'm having more trouble than ever sleeping. I went to my pcp and was prescribed zolpidem tartrate 5 mg, tablets. I took a 5 mg tablet once a night for 2 nights and couldn't sleep. I called pharmacist and was told to take 2 5 mg tablets, total of 10 mg per night. It worked for awhile but it made me feel worse, more depression, shaky. I'm down to 2.5 mg of zolpidem tartrate and feeling shaky and I can not sleep. Any suggestions please! ## Hello, Samantha!
