Azathioprine Side Effects Do They Last ?

hi I've been on azathioprine now for nearly 3 weeks now 50mg to help with severe eczema. all has been well and my eczema even been felt like it was beginning to subside. result!
However 2 days ago I started to get lower back pain and my knee joints really hurt. This has subsided over each night but I take the pill again in the morning and a few hours later Its back. Has anyone experienced this do I plod on or stop I'm off to have my weekly bloods done on Tuesday but just wondered if any else had had this side effect, thanks for listening

Hi thanks for the reply ive seen my specialist and hes taken me off it as I ended up in A&E as I couldn't walk at all , knee pain was chronic and also ended up with a fever high temperature. I'm starting a different drug in 4-5 weeks time. hopefully next one wont be as bad, thanks for you post though :-)

That can be a side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA, and it may take 4 to 5 weeks for it to improve and eventually go away entirely.
Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, decreased appetite, itching, and pallor.
