Best Generic Adderall Brands (Page 5)

Is the round pink 30 mg Adderall generic name Sandoz/Eon with the markings of CDR 136 on one side more or less effective than the oval orange 30 mg Adderall generic name Barr/Teva with the markings of b974 on one side and 30 on the other side? What is the most effective/potent Adderall that is generic and 30 mg?

My psychiatrists, across the board over a 10 yr period up to today, have agreed with this. I noticed a negative change in efficacy immediately when generic ADD was introduced. that said, 99% of insurance companies will not, not even with No Substitution nor w/pre-authorization (which could take months *if* approved) will pay for Adderall UNLESS the pharm is completely out of generic Adderall in which case it must be filled at pharmacy and ins co must pay for it. I'm in MA where state regs are impossibly strict, on Medicaid w/ NHP Ins who used Behavior Strategies for psychiatric issues: Please, advise, please- which off-label/generic manufacturers produce the cleanest/most reliable generic Adderal XR 30 & Adderall 10 mg. Depending upon the pharmacy: CVS, Walgreens or HVMA (local) I've been given 30 XR in either the solid orange caps or the 1/2 clear 1/2 orange caps w/blue&white balls. The 10mg salts are either round and dark blue or oval and light blue. I've been out of medication on and off, since November 2014 - a horrible, extended withdrawal bc an all-new team of young female whipper snappers are "uncomfortable" prescribing my medication. The reasons change and vary: "You're using too much", "not using enough", elevated b/p, happy sad alive HELLO! In October my car died requiring $4000 in repairs. W/ no car for months, in chronic pain using cane to navigate 4' snow mounds in a dreadful Boston Winter I was also forced to go cold turkey after 10 years of Adderall treatment @ 40mgs/daily. Of course my b/p was pre-hypertensive: financial worries, significant weight gain in less than 2 years, chronic, untreated spine pain in neck & shoulder causing daily deterioration of once-functioning hands, herniated disks in lower back, bursitis in hip - all exacerbated by unending frustration w/uncaring Dr.s. I detest this new-day-medicine dominated by young, passive aggressive, females more concerned w/ their own comfort than in my discomfort. Although I've been a feminist my entire life, I have changed: give me an older, male doctor who *trusts* me, who listens to me, who trusts people over 40 and who won't fight me at every turn. At 61 y/o I"m fed up w/being treated like a criminal bc I have ADHD. In pain, I don't ask for pain meds, I don't lose scripts, I don't run out of meds "early", and I *never* ask for increased dosages even when I know a dose increase would improve medication efficacy. So there :-)

I take 20 mg Adderall twice daily. After taking Teva (orange football tablet) for 6 years, my vendor switched to CorePharma (round pink tablet) 2 years ago. I frequently have to increase my daily intake of the pink tablets to 50 or 60 mg to stay awake.

I know this is almost two years later from when you asked the question but still... Sam's Club carries the Sandoz... at least here on southside of Chicago. Now Costco, lately has had this strange little white pill from Mycroft Labs and the cost for 60 tabs of 30 mg was only 38.99 or something which normally would be a great deal but in this case I think it's just because it's an inferior quality product... I switched after about three months and I now feel them again so just a heads up on the Mycroft..

Thank you soooo much for this. I'd like to print out your post but I can't figure out how to do it! The reason is: so that I may begin the process of preauthorization for the real medication (1) after my next meds appt for script (my psychopharm agrees 100%) w/ script "no substitutions" checked (2) Go to Insurance co to ask about pre-authorization (3) before I take it to the pharmacy. I am in complete agreement with you: I started with "real" Adderall in 2009 w/tremendous success. In 2011 or so I had to drop to generic and have not had much success, not even increasing dosages have helped (I don't need more, I need authentic). All of my doctors state that the generics do not hold up to the original product, Adderall (T/M) but thanks to big money insurance comapnies, we are forced to take a compromised medication. Oddly, one pharmacy stated "the generics must be the same combination of medications, it's the law". Right, but fillers can take up 90% of the capsules.

Cvs has TEVA as the Adderall brand name which you pay out of pocket.

I suffer from the same medical diagnosis. I relate to each and every complaint your speaking about. My suggestion to you for your discomfort and pain is a drug called Suboxone. This medication is acually an addiction type medication for patients addicted to opioids. I have in the past taken hydrocoedone for my pain and discomfort and when i became dependant on them and they really stopped helping i was told about suboxone. From the very moment that i put the sublingual film of suboxone under my tongue i felt instant relief. Just wanted to share with you. As of now i am no longer in discomfort or pain. Just fighting being tired too and feeling like my adderall does not work as well anymore. Good luck to you! I hope my input serves you some type of relief.

Let me say that first off I've been seeing my Psychiatrist for almost 20 years and he has been prescribing me the 30mg Adderal and the only generic one that works is the Sandoz brand which is round and orange! All of the other ones are horrible and do NOT work!!

I've been doing ok on the 30 SR capsules -clear+light orange containing little spansules inside, walgreen's carries them. The smaller, solid -orange 30SR capsules sold at CVS have absolutely no affect on me. the lightish blue 10 mg pills oblong(ish) sold by Walgreens are ok, but the hard, round, darker blue pills sold at CVS are ineffective. The efficacy was much better on 'straight' Adderall than has been for me on what I refer to as Fake-Adderall (aka generics) but thanks to all of you I was able to ascertain, at least for now, which of them, between the meager choices allowed by my insurance co, works better for me.

I take adderallI 30 mg. My question is is there any other medication that will give me more energy threw out the day... I have try adderall 20g lil orange round pills but was not strong enough for my High tolerance to medication.. IS THERE ANY WAY OR ANY ONE WHO CAN HELP ME OUT WITH THIS PROBLEM????



I took like 4 to 5 adderall some dates to have the energy and focus on clean house with 2 kids! SO PLEASE HELP ME OUT!

Dunno why you're getting upset with us, we're all in the same predicament experiencing the same frustrations, we're not the pharmaceutical companies nor are we the doctors denying you information or scripts. We are sharing the info we have. The only other medication I am aware of (I know them all) is almost never prescribed anymore - it has almost no side effects , creates a smooth, non- jittery, non- agitating treatment for add & adhd , especially for narcolepsy, also was used as a diet pill in the 60's and 70's. It's a very old drug called Desoxyn- look it up. Iit's nearly impossible to find a prescribing MD because it's so closely monitored byt the FDA thus it'snot carried in many pharmacies . I think yoiu'd be hard pressed to find an insurance co tha twould cover it for anything other than narcolepsy. It's in a a Class II category because it became too popular and is extremely addictive. My psycho pharm, an older MD who will prescribe just about anything within reason (old school, easy going but very caring and no fool, a good listener) said he'd "never heard of it" when I *casually* mentioned it as an alternative to generic Adderall. Interesting....cuz he's well into his 70's and if he knows what Ritalin, Adderall, Vyvance, phentermine or dextroamphatimine is , he certainly knows what Desoxyn is.. I probably mumbled it ;-) trying to be too casual. IIt's quite pleasant, very effective , devoide the typical CNS side effects as compared to all the newer ones (I can't take Ritilin, it makes me manic) but because of it's Class II the DEA/feds maki it extremely difficult to prescribe and equally as difficult to fill. Thus, rather than fight the good fight for it's customers, the drug companies gave up and began formulating variations of it by creating "new and improved" drugs which they can market as a better choice, patent it, create a generic equivalent ("cut" with fillers) which make you sick and/or have such limited efficacy it forces your doctors to prescribe it @ higher and higher dosages. $$$$$ Trust me, the drug companies are *not* in it for your well being, they're in it for their own well bein$. Good luck. I do caution you , friend, to check your motives. If you are mostly searching for a recreational high or mother's helpers, you need to find other resources in the Deep Dark Web, not here. .

Thank you so much for the information... I started taking adderall when I was 17 stopped taking it for 6 yrs.. Started taking generics about the year ago.. It's not even comparable now!! Pretty much awful really.. Doctors only prescribe it for narcolepsy? Do you know of anyone that strictly takes it for ADHD/ Add? Any thoughts on how I can get my dr to prescribe it? Thanks again for the info!

Adderall- and it's generic equivilant, tho I agree they may as well be different medications they are so different.... are prescribed almost 100% for ADHD and ADD only. Vyvance, newer to the market is also being used in addition to the older drugs already metioned. medications.Somewhat different medications are prescribed for narcolepsy such as Mondifil (sp) and others. They're all CNS stimulants

I've been diagnosed with adult ADD, and have been taking Adderall (IR not XR) for 10 years now. I've been wondering the same recently, because I had noticed in the past, a HUGE difference between brands when I was first prescribed 10mg, and then eventually upped to 20mg, with the 10mg the dark blue oval ones worked the BEST, but the light blue round ones sucked and they didn't work at all..same with the 20mg, the orange oval ones worked the BEST, but the round pink ones sucked too and didn't work at all...NOW I've just recently been bumped up to 30mg and I'm trying to figure out which ones are the stronger ones that actually work..I'm only on my 2nd prescription and so far I've tried the brand Teva- the orange oval ones (larger than the 20mg oval), and with my 2nd script I'm trying the brand Actavis- they are small round light orange ones. I haven't really noticed a difference between them, but I've also realized the 20mg ones I was taking previously, were actually stronger, and worked way better! It sucks because the ONLY REASON I had to be bumped up to 30mg, is because of my insurance! (Same insurance I've had for years) I had been prescribed 20mg x4 a day, for years, now all of a sudden my insurance, that had NO problem paying for that script, NOW refuses to pay for the 4th pill!! I have NO idea why?? But I'm so mad about it because that dosage was working perfectly for so many years!! So now I'm prescribed 30mg 2x daily and a half of one in the afternoon, JUST so my insurance will pay for it!! How ridiculous is that?? Ugh!!! But this new dosage isn't not working the same, and I'm thinking that maybe I'm just getting the wrong brands. :(

Also, I forgot to mention, I read a comment suggesting you do a test trial for a week...I don't think that's possible, at least not through the pharmacies, they always tell me, once its filled, I'm stuck with it... Unless your doctor can help you with that, then there's also insurances to deal with, my insurance ALWAYS needs a PA (Pre-Approval) before they'll pay for my Adderall prescriptions...But every person's situation is different but good Luck!!

I have taken the 30 MG generic IR (teva) 2x day. It's ineffective.

I'm at CVS now and the have aurobingo (or something like that)... and one have reviews on those pills?

Wow! It's obvious you are living off of stimulants to combat your body's inability to adjust to night work as well as over-working yourself. ADD, Fibromayalgia, now narcolepsy? Sounds like being a nurse gives you an advantage so that your doctor associates will label you with whatever necessary in order to prescribe you with the latest upper in order to continue to work you like a slave.
