Hi just started my final dose today of 72mg of concerta been in them for 4 weeks now and I have to stick at 72 mg but its making me feel spaced and slightly dizzy I did experience this when I took 18mg when I first took them but never the second day is this normal will it pass thanx. ## Hello, Stephen! How are you feeling? Yes, that is normal and it should pass, as your body gets used to the medication. If it doesn't, then you should consult your doctor. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, nervousness, anxiety and insomnia. Is there anything else I can help with?

does anyone out there have the problem I have seems even some Dr's don't understand the difference between ADD and the classic ADHD. Even as a child ,I was different all the kids went out on Sat mornings to play while I couldn't even wake up. I couldn't stay awake in class. Could never keep it together in school. I was always the class dummy. Then I became over weight in my early twenty's. All of a sudden when a Dr put me on diet meds I had a brain that really worked. I have been on concerta for about ten years and all of a sudden I'm back to my old state.can't wake up, can't concentrate. What if anything can some one advise me to do? ## YOU MAY WANT TO TRY A MEDICATION VACATION OR ANOTHER THING THAT HELPED WAS WEEKEND AND WEEKDAY DOSES BEING DIFFERENT. A...

Can I take 2-18mg of Concerta to equal my 36mg. I ran out of my 36mg and I have 4 18mg from previous script ## Hello, Lois! How are you? Yes, that should be fine, as long as your doctor approves. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, nervousness and insomnia. This medication also carries the risk of being habit forming. Is there anything else I can help with?

My 11 year old son is taking Concerta. He started that one in '06. They started testing him and it is not showing up in his urine. He takes it each day. I am so worried about him. We have had a Social Worker with a State Cop. He has been tested 6 times, I have ask them to do blood work and they will not, I had to change DR.'s. He is to the point of crying and he tells them what he takes and how often it has gotten way out of hand I do not know what to do. Just a mom. ## Concerta contains the active ingredient Methylphenidate, it is a stimulant, commonly used to treat ADHD and Narcolepsy. Have you actually seen him take the medication? Do you know what kind of test they are doing? There are some types of tests it would not show up on, they would need to be specifically looking fo...

Recently I was prescribed Concerta by a psychiatrist and forgot to tell my family Dr. although I did call his office to let his secretary know, but I guess she didn't pass the message on. My urine test came back showing there were things in it that shouldn't be, so now he won't prescribe any narcotics. My question is, what are the active ingredients in Concerta that would show up in a urine test to come back dirty?

is it physical addiction ## Hello, Amber! How are you? Does it also have the word alza on the pill? If so, it is manufactured by ALZA Corporation and they list it as being a 54mg Concerta tablet. The FDA classifies this as a stimulant that is most commonly used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, nervousness and anorexia. And yes, it does carry the risk of being habit forming. Is there anything else I can help with?

I need to know what the difference is with the two sides on the inside of a Concerta 36? Is it 2 separate drugs that make it what it is because I was told one side was the actual methylphenidate and the other side was a blood pressure drug? Someone know is addicted to abusing pills or anything else it seems and I told him to not to misuse this pill, because I was also told it could kill a person if it's taken the wrong way. Can someone help me explain this pill to him so he can read for himself from someone else what's exactly going on because he thinks I'm joking about it and I just don't want him to die for making the wrong decision. Seriously as fast as you can possibly respond would be helpful. Thank you for your time in advance. ## Hello, Lee! How are you? No, there...

Hi there, they started testing my son doing a urine test and Concerta is not showing up in his system. I know that he takes it each day. I have had the socical workers here. He has told them. I have had to take him for testing each time for his Med's and it has got the best of him. I do not understand why it's not showing up. And now they have made his condition even worse he tells me he is crazy, takes spells crying. I need some help! ## Concerta contains Methylphenidate. Have you actually watched him taking the pills and do you know what kind of test they are doing? This is a stimulant used to treat ADHD and Narcolepsy, so it should show up if they are running a test for stimulants. Has he shown any of the normal drug side effects, such as nausea, headache, irritability or ins...

I told my friend that he shouldent open the capsule and take the white and yellow part because its not meant to be taken like that and i told him it would make him hallucinat and it would make him addicted and he doesn't believe me. The pills are Concerta time release alza 36. Please someone answer because i dont want my best friend addicted to Ritalin. ## The concern with doing that with time released medications is the risk of overdose, because someone could get too much of the medication, at once. However, it may not necessarily make him hallucinate or cause addiction, but the risk is there. These risks are present with any medication that is abused and the overdose risk from defeating the time released mechanism. Typical side effects of this medication may include nausea, headac...

My son is 9 years old and is on Concerta 27mg for concerntration but is still battling with his emotions and is very anxious. The Doctor has recommended 10 mg of Tripolene at 6pm in evening, does this sound suitable for his age and condition, I was giving him Melatonin to help him sleep as the Concerta was keeping him awake, should the Tripolene help with sleep as well as the Melatonin has become a schedule 4 drug and I would like to stop giving it to him ## I highly recommend guanfacine or clonidine. They're commonly prescribed with stimulants for ADHD. In my experience, they relieve stimulant-induced sleeplessness and have a mild anti-anxiety effect. Guanfacine is probably preferable for ADHD, but they're both pretty similar. Once-daily formulations are available, but they...

need to know what a pill that is used to treat the same thing as adarall and looks like a light reddish color that says 54 on one side and nothing on other and is solid and oval shaped or semi capsule shaped but solid! ## Hello, Rudster69! How are you? I believe the tablet you're referring to has the marking alza 54 on it and it is a 54mg Concerta tablet, which contains that active ingredient Methylphenidate, so yes it treats the same conditions as Adderall. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, anorexia, irritability, headache and insomnia. Does that sound right?

Our 17 year old is taking 54 mg of Concerta 1x a day. The past few weeks she has been/had weepy, irritable, dizzy, headaches, increased sweating, trouble sleeping and loss of appetite/nausea. She spikes with extreme anger and just seems to be much more agitated. Are these symptoms of her dose being too high? She has been on this dosage for over a year? Concerta has been given to her for almost 2 yrs. Thanks! ## Hello, Jennifer! How are you? Yes, it could be, unless you have reasons to suspect that she may be doing some other type of drug. Another alternative could be hormonal changes, she is at the right age for another shift in them to occur. Has her doctor been consulted?

I got prescribed alza 36 and I'm pretty scared because I've heard of people getting agitated n angry over the littlest things and sometimes I already do that so i don't want it to be worse with me....should i take them or not???? ## Heya, I'm on this pill and I haven't noticed any changes in my personality, no one else has either. It helps though, really. I can concentrate more easily and am more confident. BUT occasionally I feel reaaally s***, like shaky and stuff, get a cold sweat (Only started after I started taking the meds). ## Hey, Shelby! Yes, there is a chance that it can cause those issues as side effects in some people that take it. This is a 36mg Concerta tablet, so it's a type of stimulant, it and its relatives are all known to cause such problems in...

What is the Conceva for? ## Regarding Conceva, I am unable to find any specific details on it whatsoever. Did you mean to say 'Concerta' by chance? Concerta contains the active ingredient methylphenidate, which is used as part of a treatment program to control symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Methylphenidate is in a class of medications called central nervous system (CNS) stimulants. It works by changing the amounts of certain natural substances in the brain. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Methylphenidate Details Please post back if you happen to have any additional information to add. I hope this helps!

I take 34 mg concerta. Will this show up in chain of custody blood test? does a false positive mean positive? ## I don't know what you mean by a chain of custody blood test. Could you please clarify? As to the Concerta, it contains the active ingredient Methylphenidate and can be detected on tests that look for it, though not all do. And a false positives means that there was a positive result that should not have happened and is not accurate. An example would be someone taking Morphine, but getting a positive drug test result for Oxycodone, instead of Morphine. They are related medications and this has been known to happen. Learn more drug testing details here. ## I took a 27g Concerta slow release pill this mornig, all of a sudden i go to work and a UA is given. I am 40y/o 225 lbs...

Long, kind of roundish pill, I know its not concerta 27mg, its something else. Found it in my girlfriends room and she never had to take any pills for anythign before. I'm a bit worried as to it might be Ritalin like what was said in previous forums, I can't seem to find an answer. So, the description, Blue/Grey colored, but more Grey than Blue, long, rounded a bit, but not like a concerta pill, and has "N" printed on one side, and "27" on the other. Please answer asap pronto mailbox ## Hi Curtis, Based on my research, a grey, capsule-shaped, film-coated, extended release tablet, engraved with "N" on one side and "27" on the other side contains Methylphenidate hydrochloride (27 mg). Manufactured by: Teva Canada (Novopharm) Methylphenidate is the m...
