Finding Evidence Of Roxicodone Abuse
(Newest replies first)

My friend read in her daughter's diary about taking blues. Now finding aluminum foil with magic marker lines on one side, burned marks on other side, soot on hands and inside car. Her daughter's friend said she heard she was smoking roxi's. Any info if her daughter might be abusing it?

I am a mother of a 22yr old son. I found out he is smoking (blues?)...and sometimes heroin. His father died at 12 from cancer, and he started rebelling them smoking marijuana, gangs, breaking in houses, moved to florida and as a 17yr old started smoking blues and then got in trouble as a juvenile stealing a gun from a police officer's house where (officer's son) was having party. He gets juvenile diversion, never passes drug tests, (im thinking he was only on marijuana), so gets direct filed to adult court, still cant pass drug tests, and then tells me he had been smoking heroin and blues for at least a year. He goes to prison for 15 months. Gets out... In 2 weeks has a job...works there one month and goes to a landscaping job...and looses the job, for being smart to the boss. At this point he is 21 years old, had only been out of prison 3 months and meets a 16yr old girl...who takes xanax, smokes marijuana, lives with her grandmother because her mom is a heroin addict in georgia and father who lives close is an alcoholic and wants nothing to do with her. So my son is 21...she is 16, and she throws a fit to her grandmother bc she wants her to let my son live with them, spits in grandmother's face, gets locked up in pysch rehab for one week, then out. Then the grandmother lets my son move in. He has no job, no ged, is a felon, and the two of them give the grandmother a run for her money.

They let a homeless person sneak and stay that they didn't know. They let a friend with a warrant come and stay. They were drinking, smoking marijuana, stealing her stuff and pawning her stuff. So come to find out she kicked them out and they were sleeping in my son's car. Then they try to come to my house to live and I find out that my son has been back on smoking the blues and the heroine for quite some time now. His girlfriend said he was doing it just about every day and that he tried to stop because he said he's seen it hurt her and it hurt his mother (myself) and so he has been taking Suboxone for like two weeks. My question is, everything has ran through my mind, the girl is 17 years old and he is now 22, he cannot take care of himself, so how can he even take care of her? So I see the pressure upon him and she now refuses to go back home to live with her grandmother. She always threatens that she will run away, that she is never going back there while he just makes comments and says she doesn't need to go back there. They don't care about her. She has no one. I am all that she has. I was going to get what was called an ex parte order to try to have him arrested and sent to a detox. I had a private conversation with the girlfriend to explain that he needed help or he could end up dead and what part of that did she not understand. She was more worried about having to go home if he had to go to a rehab and so she told him that I knew he was doing the heroin and blues.

At first he got mad and told me that he was not an addict, that you were only an addict if you shot it up or snorted it. He did not know that she had told me at that point that he had been smoking it everyday and that he had been on Suboxone for two weeks and that he said he wanted to get off of it but he did not want me to know. He did not want to see me upset or mad but now that he knows he explains to me if he would die it would never be my fault and that I have been a good mother and that it was nothing I did wrong and he states it is not because my husband died or that he's under pressure. He says it is because he just likes the euphoria. He says but he also realizes it is ruining his relationship with his girlfriend and it hurts me, so he said he would like to just be on Suboxone. I don't know much of how to handle the withdrawal or if putting him straight on Suboxone and not knowing how to monitor if he is really doing it or selling it or sometimes taking it and sometimes doing the blues or heroin. So I don't really know what to do. Some of the other sites that I have read explained that counseling and rehab inpatient or even outpatient without Suboxone is a waste of time because the person still ends up with withdrawals and thinking about it in the long run that if you get a person counseling with Suboxone that it is better but I don't know what to believe. My son also does not have any insurance right now. He says one Suboxone can last him like 3 days.

If someone who has been an addict or a drug / alcohol counselor or drug rehab counselor and they have any suggestions to me please let me know what I should do? Congratulations to all the people that decide to make a choice to make a change because it really does hurt and affect the people that you are around also. Thank you for change, you give mothers hope.

I have a problem with a friend that I don't exactly what I'm dealing with or how to deal with it. My friend Shannon had been insufflating pills called roxicodone and now I have heard she is smoking it. She is pretty much using everyone out of her life because she is very very unpredictable. Can you give me more info on this drug and why would someone smoke it and what effect does it have on the person?

I don't know or care how u make your money because in the end we do all have our vices. But quit funding ignorance. I've did my dirt. But who wins, jealous of your drug dealing? Because it's just like this, if you get caught you are going to prison so who would be jealous of that?

I've seen my thirty year old daughter smoke blues on foil from morn till night all of this last year. she sits down and nods off with the foil and lighter in hand then jerks awake and immediately starts smoking again. she has 2 awesome little sons and used to be a great mom. now she leaves them at home with whoever sometimes for two days at a time. she smokes so much of this stuff I am in fear for her life. do I have reason to be scared for her?

What does it smell like on a person after they've been smoking pills?

Yes I am sorry to say that from what you found with the foil, and the "Magic Marker" line on the other side that she is def smoking some sort of opiate. Either Roxycodone immediate release as there is no binding tamper proof mechanism, or it can also be Heroin. Both are extremely addictive and dangerous. Roxycodone is made in a pharmaceutical lab so it is pure with no nasty unknown things cut into the drug. Unfortunately with heroin there is no FDA or DEA regulations, and can be cut with numerous agents in order to increase profit. Unfortunately with Heroin there is no sure way to know the exact purity which can make it extremely easy to overdose. One bag from on dealer can be extremely week, while the next bag can be extremely pure making it easier to overdose on. You of course can still overdose from Roxycodone, but you are more knowledgable to the exact purity of the drug. Both are semi synthetic opiates, Heroin being processed from Morphine from the Asian Opium Poppy plant, while Roxycodone is processed from Thebain which is another part of the extract from the Opium poppy Plant. Both are extremely addictive as the both can pass the blood brain barrier, however Heroin does so at a higher precent level. Heroin is also then turned back into morphine once it is metabolized into the human body. Unfortunately now dealers are getting smarter and using pill press machines, to press Heroin into pills that exactly resemble Roxycodone pills. This makes it extremely dangerous for the user as they believe the are taking a Roxy and they think they are safe with the amount they are using, but if it turns out to be a fake pressed Heroin pill it can be extremely easy to overdose. My best advice is to get her into a Detox program where she can not sign herself out. The first week of withdrawal symptoms are the worst, and then gradually get less. The problem is after they are detoxed, and system is clean of any drugs, that the user gets back out and falls right back into the same situations, with the same people which makes it very easy to relapse. Detox and Rehab is often not enough. Long term follow up treatment, and lifestyle changes are extremely important. After Detox they need to stay clear of people and places that brought them to this situation in the first place. I feel your pain as i am recovering from opiates and Detox initially was not enough, because i would get clean, but hanging out with the same crowd, places and situations has caused me to relapse. The only way i stayed clean was after detox, i moved from NYC. The Heroin, and Opiate capital of the United States, to family in Rural Nevada away from the old crowd, dealers and access to the drugs. I wish you the best, and hopefully she can get and stay clean and does not end up as a statistic!

Roxicodone is bad stuff. My brother was smoking it, & it caused him to go psychotic. He's been in a mental ward for a week. If you do this, please take to heart what you're doing not only to yourself, but the people who love and care about you.

I agree with missy. That guy is probably the reason she is and addict. He probably used to do methamphetamine and got her pregnant and made her get rid of the baby. So now she tries to hide her pain with drugs

Klaw, ya' beat me to yelling at the suboxone spammer. No withdrawals is such a lie. No withdrawals if you don't ever plan on trying to get off the sub, sure I guess.

But, suboxone is a *narcotic* actually. More specifically, buprenorphine, the part of sub that's responsible for helping acute withdrawal, is a narcotic, albeit a partial agonist. That doesn't mean it's any less addicting though. Naloxone on the other hand is an opioid antagonist, which actually is more like an anti-narcotic. If you're already high, taking naloxone via IV, or in larger quantities by others roas, will put you into immediate acute withdrawal.

Don't even mess with suboxone. It can actually complicate a real cure, ibogaine. It's illegal in the US, as it has hallucinogenic properties, but it allegedly cures opiate addicts overnight. You've got a computer, obviously; google it.

Wow. Suboxone no withdrawals huh? Suboxone is an opioid, and like any opioid, semi-synthetic or otherwise, has a withdrawal period after discontinuation. Though, I suppose there'd be no withdrawal if you never get off suboxone, which actually is a highly preferred option by alot of doctors. It's a business, that's why this guy is praising suboxone and using hot words to get attention. The industry is so corrupt. *Roxanne, the original manufacturer of roxicodone, now actually makes subutex generics. Hooked their loyal customers on the Roxis, and also get sloppy seconds in rehab clinics. They have it made in the shade.

Are you SERIOUS???? Suboxone gets you off opiates with NO WITHDRAWALS????? Suboxone has the worst/longest withdrawals out of any drug, that and methadone. Don't start suboxone, you will have to cut that thing into 64 microscopic squares(.125 mg) and then MAYBE taper to .0625 just so you can interact with people. That's cutting a 8 mg film into 128 pieces and waiting longer and longer to dose each time to try and lower your tolerance. The half life and binding characteristics are insane. Stay away from suboxone, lady's on it have given birth to their child and instead of holding the baby wanted to be "left alone"

I've seen more horrible suboxone withdrawal endings than you can imagine, a 6 month withdrawal killed someone bc they couldn't take it anymore. That drug needs to be banned and destroyed. Cold turkey on opiates for 72-96 hrs for a heavy user, and you will be getting back to normal. Google opiate home detox programs and more importantly suboxone withdrawals. Please don't ever type suboxone has no withdrawals, you will make a poor persons life a living hell.

They chase those..chew them and they cost $25 a strip on street and those doctors keep them on them years..They're suppose to be short term I heard! If run out they withdrawal just like they would off opiates. Some great pill@ don't count on that cure!
