Muscle Twitching

I have been on Contrave for three months but the last couple weeks I am having muscle twitching bad enough to keep me awake. Could the Contrave be causing this?

I was just reading a study about the uncontrolled jerking with contrave. I am having this as well but mostly at night. The study says it effects women who are from their late 40s to 50s and possibly taking celexa as well. I am not to worried about it at this point. It is more of a aggrevation. The drowsiness bothers me more. My body is ready to go but I can barely hold my eyes open. If it worries you then talk to your dr about decreasing your dose a little. I bet that will help. Don't stress yourself out.

One of the active ingredients in it is Bupropion, which is indeed a psychotropic, the FDA classifies it as an antidepressant.

The reason you're warned against a high fat meal is due to the fact that it could block the absorption of the medication and a sudden withdrawal may result in seizures. There may also be other reasons that I am not aware of, at this time.

Have you consulted your doctor about a possible infection?

I am taking contrave and also experiencing muscle twitches. My hands actually shake as if I have Parkinson's. It is also definitely psychotropic. I developed an acute case of agoraphobia - didn't leave the house for two days. It also has had an impact on my autoimmune system. My body is not fighting off bacteria. My nails separated from their bed and I got a stye in my left eye, both of which are usually the result of bacterial infection. And lastly, the company does not respond to questions regarding recommended amount of fat consumption although the insert says that eating a high fat meal could result in seizures. I believe that this is a very dangerous drug and wonder how it ever got FDA approval.

Hello, Patty! How are you?

The only place I'm seeing this listed is under the overdose symptoms that are provided by the FDA.

The typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, insomnia, nervousness and depression.

Have you discussed this with your doctor? Are you on any other medications?
