Rhodes Vs Mylan Buprenorphine (Page 2) (Top voted first)

Updated

I was just switched from the Mylan brand of Buprenorphine to the Rhodes brand. I haven’t taken any of the Rhodes brand yet. I have taken Mylan bupe for several years and totally love it. The only other bupe I have tried is the hi-tech and it made me extremely depressed and I couldn’t function at all, just felt so much anxiety and wanted to crawl in a hole! Who here has taken Rhodes and/or Mylan?? Any experience, please share! I have a couple days left of my Mylan and then I’m on to try the Rhodes. (This is only happening because Mylan brand got thrown on long term backorder and Mylan says they still have no update on when it will be back)

Goozer (# 20) --

I don't need to write him back..I already know..one other time I wrote him....asked what most of his patients preferred of all the generics ?? Obviously brand name..but he gets alot of requests to write on the script pts..preference forever it was teva..and 54 411s.. even tho he is a recovering addict doctor suboxone was not in the picture so he had to do it the old fashioned way. He used to be an the one in the operating room putting ppl under..got cough being an addict. Changed his career to psychiatry..and an advocate for addiction and his own practice and speaker..he is probably doing better than before at least more popular anyway..so the answer I already know is teva still ranks at #1 I..I had just forgotten about it because its been so long since I've seen them. I thought they were gone.. BUT IF YOU COULD GET A HOLD OF THOSE BABIES..PLEASE, PLEASE LET ME IN ON THAT LITTLE SECRET lol yes. Yes very good generic..

Re: Charlene (# 25) Expand Referenced Message

I will keep looking trust me but they seem very hard to find on west side but only talked to few pharmacies. but no need to look for them if you have Rhodes because they are identical in active and inactive ingredients except for sodium citrate which does not do much as a filler and binder meaning Rhodes are just as good as teva generics if not better but once I get my hands on some I will compare to Rhodes personally and let you know but with the same active and inactive ingredients except one the Rhodes will be identical to teva generics in efficiency and likeness how awesome I knew Rhodes was the best. so anyone stating teva was the best but like 54 411 s well Rhodes is exact same as teva so if anyone who thinks teva is the best generic yet believes Rhodes is not as good as 54 411 s then it is in your head as Rhodes and teva are same ingredients discluding the sodium citrate filler so anyone saying 54 411 is better than Rhodes you may be wrong as teva is best and Rhodes are exact same as teva. Rhodes and teva are best generics for bup I have confirmed

Re: Goozer (# 28) Expand Referenced Message

Ya. I agree I most definitely love Rhodes. I know I mentioned that I thought between teva and Rhodes which is better ??? Its really hard to say because for me anyway it was atleast 10 years or so ago. All I would say is I didn't even notice they were different from the original brand name they looked completely the same to me and I did them forever until I happen to think about the bottle change. Originally subs always came in the bottle from the manufacturer I took 4 8s a day . Idk just one day sitting around doing nothing I thought about the change in the bottle again I noticed they were from teva. All I even squawked about back then was generic had finally come out..back then insurance companies didn't pay mine only covered the doc.so my scripts for 4 day was running me close to $6 & 7 hundred a month I had run all my credit cards up back then so teva came out $4-5 hundreds that was better and as each generic came the prices just kept dropping. Anyway I go into port Charlotte today to get my refill I still get 120 8s a month I called yesterday to make sure they have Rhodes in at that amount. They said yes and from now on it's the only brand they will carry from now on..so idk they used to always, always have54 411s do you think they are getting Rhodes cheaper?

Re: MommaMurph (# 26) Expand Referenced Message

Thx for your comment. Out of all my years on buprenorphine treatment I never bumped into sun, or Mylan brand. I've heard some good reviews on Mylan other than the burning, but I also read that some ppl actually went out of their way to complain either to the pharmacy or directly to the company. So I have to wonder if it was so true the burning I know all the pharmacies can do is order elsewhere but if they are made available and ppl are still buying them they will stick with it considering I've heard they are the cheapest and if it was such a problem why wouldn't they pull them off shelves before they get a problem on their hands, so?? Now actavis orange half moon to me.. I just don't like it has to do with the taste mainly and I get a dull feeling all month long sort of a depression. For one thing I know for a fact they have less bup in them..and me to I'm not much of a complainer because in 2007 this med saved me I drove up 3 hours away back then he was the only one around me other than going into deep Naples area for bup treatment I was prescribed 4 8s a day I went up their in a bad W/D state hit the Pharmacies up there and within 20 minutes I was completely better I was even able to walk into the grocery store on the way home..my husband and I were in shock...but now many years later I wished I had just detox off drugs..because my pill habit was wayy cheaper than subs..I say that because I have insurance so they covered 80% of medications and my co-pay for dr visits back then was $15 bucks.

On top of this sub issue ive tried to detox off more than once with no luck. This last time was just a few months ago I decided to use pain management for help I got percocet 10s x 4 daily with muscle relaxers to..I did it only 9 days inbetween those 9 days my husband rushed me into his office twice that's when he increased my dose from 3 to 4 daily. I lost 14lbs and ate nothing could hardly even drink anything I was so sick..I called the dr. On a Sunday evening he told me to come in Monday before the office opened we went there I had no strength my husband carried me as if it was our wedding day lol but ya the dr looked at me then him and said I suggest she goes back on subutex until she regains her strength and weight, health. She can try again. It took me almost a month to feel kinda normal. Big difference from the beginning of buprenorphine treatment I was in detox for a good week until we found a dr..back then there was very few bup was brand new. I would never suggest someone struggling with addiction I would say try to detox off first. Now its probably alot of reasons why I can't do it. #1 the length of time and the doses I take could be a big factor. My age is almost 59. Ya I'm old.

Re: Addie (# 12) Expand Referenced Message

Wow, I have never ever heard someone say bup was so strong they could almost pass out or faint??.. maybe like you said you were on a weaker brand type and then went on to try a good bup brand of generic...you must be very sensitive to pain medications then I am anyway. I do 4 8mg a day.and never have I gotten dizzy...what kind of medications did you take before that led you to bup in the first place?? If you dont mind, I was just curious about it and why this bup could have affected you in such a way

Re: Charlene (# 34) Expand Referenced Message

Re: Charlene (# 40) Expand Referenced Message

I'm so sorry to hear this. Rhodes are identical to brand name Subutex. This is why I would always stick with Rhodes and they are everywhere. Just keep working, if not I can for you.

Omg I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only person who has had same exact experience with the Hi tech brand of Bup. I’ve literally had to ask my Doc to write on my scripts No substitutes ??????? for the brand that I prefer which is the Hikma brand. I’ve been on this medication for son long and I’ve tried many different brands. Please lmk how those Rhodes went, Safeway Carries that brand and I’m curious.

Re: Goozer (# 8) Expand Referenced Message

I think everyone just reacts to ingredients differently. For me the 54 411 (whoever makes them now) was so strong I almost fainted the first couple days and had to go down to half the dose I was on before. Once I adjusted my dose they work well for me now and I only need to take it once a day. Of course I was on Hi-Tech/Akorrn before that and everyone says those are weak so maybe that’s why. I really liked the hi-tech for a long time but the last couple fills I got they started putting me in withdrawal and making me dizzy so I had to switch. I’ve never tried any of the other brands besides those two. I hate that these manufacturers are always changing meds and selling to other companies, etc.

Re: Charlene (# 15) Expand Referenced Message

I have called Milan every week for the last two months an the 2mg bupe is on long term backorder. I now take the Westward brand, which I totally love but am hoping Mylan bupe comes back over the next couple months.

Re: Christina (# 13) Expand Referenced Message

that's strange because I have the Rhodes and himkas and they are 2 times less effective than the Rhodes and of they compare to mylan I probably won't like them as they may be 2 time as less efficient for me but everyone is different. I'm interested in Rhodes and the teva b 799 no one seems to knkw about anymore. maybe one day I will get mylan because it is always available to me if I decided but Rhodes has been great. i am always tired but on other medicene and have many health issues.

Re: Charlene (# 18) Expand Referenced Message

Hi everyone! I’m still doing great on the Roxanne brand but now pay $100 a bottle, which is insane but I’m going to do whatever I have to to keep my life together.

From what I’ve read, I believe it’s the Sun Pharma or Activis brand that people complain about burning their mouths. I’m not sure though as I’ve never tried either of those brands. I’ve heard some horror stories on them though! Anyway, the Westward bupe has been a total life saver since Mylan is STILL on long term back order. When they come back, I’ll only go back to them because I pay so much less for them than I do the Westward brand. Truthfully, I’m just excited that I have a medication that works so well for me. We all just want to live our lives ya know?

Re: Charlene (# 25) Expand Referenced Message

that is good feedback thank you. i did want to confirm after my recent search for teva generic that they are still being made but hard to find and they also have the same inactive ingredients in then as the Rhodes generic except Rhodes does not have sodium citrate in it lile the Rhodes does. so the Rhodes and teva are identical in every way except teva contains sodium citrate wjere Rhodes doesn't but all other eight inactive ingredients are the exact same. so of if teva is and was the best them that makes Rhodes equal to tevas generic as the active and inactive ingredients are identical except just the sodium citrate in teva generics so I will keep looking for teva but they are identical to Rhodes except the sodium citrate which is a binder that will not effect much if any. yay this means Rhodes are just as good as the teva b 799 good to know
