Roxycotin 30 Mg (oxycodone)

Updated
Comments Submitted Says:

I am on 30mg Roxycotin (oxycodone) 180 tablets per month. I have insurance, however, cannot find a pharmacy that has supplies of prescription (I hear many people are having this issue recently). My doctor might prescribe an alternative. I am very afraid of the alternative due to not understanding how medications translate. I fear it not being adequate for me to function and go to work. What is a viable alternative? Does anybody know. I am told dilaudid (I cannot spell the med.) But the doctor is saying 8mg. in the amount of 110 pills (as opposed to 30mg of oxycodone in the amount of 180 pills) that I am currently prescribed. It looks like a serious drop in the ammount and mg. of medication. I fear the worst. Anybody have any advice. It would be greatly appreciated.

dear freind; the reason that you re having trouble is there is a supply an demand problem with generic ingredients , the FDA has imformed all major pharmiceuitical firms that unapprove ingreidents have gotten in the generic drugs , some drugs have double the strength , some are completely ineffective, people are failing drug screen tests an are wondering why this is the reason, some are getting fake meds from china an india, computer references i recomend would be k v pharmacetiucal recall, an ethex corp. recalls

HI,
You should not have a problem as there are three generic's to that med I am also on this med. 240 a month. About three months ago there was a shortage but now just about every pharmacy should have them if not just ask the doctor to prescribe you the 15mg in double. or oxy 40's work great also

First of all, I would like to state that there is NO such drug as Roxycontin, you are either on a regular release dosage called Roxicodone or a 12hour time released dosage called Oxycontin.

There was a problem recently with some companies manufacturing unapproved versions of this medicaction and the FDA has pulled them from the market and for some time, this did create shortages.

However, your doctor and your pharmacy know the conversion rates, so if it is necessary to switch for a period of time, they will be able to prescribe an amount that will control your pain effectively.

Common narcotic side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Try you hospital pharmacy. They usually have it. Otherwise ask a smaller neighborhood pharmacy to order it. I never go to CVS.

sorry man, but they stopped production on roxys, and ocs... they have added another ingredient to bind the pill together like rubber. this is true, if u call Pharma and make complaint after complaint, who know's, maybe somethin will happpen. but what theyre doing is tryin to prevent abuse and with the new med, its working, although a lot of ppl are very upset b/c its putting them into withdrwl SYMPTOMS. truely unfortunate for those who actually need it. god bless and reply if u want/need more info. i am a licensed MD.

If you go GlobalRPH you can use the conversion chart to convert the two. It calculates to 1 Oxycodone 30 mg is equal to 11.25 mg of hydromorphone (daladin).

Walgreens pharmacist told me I was taking too much and per his conference call they are only to fill 120 per month with a longacting too and I would now have to go back to my Dr and get my script changed. This is with him not even knowing my diagnosis. Since when do pharmacists tell doctors what to do. Last month they would not fill my script because I was a mile from my house but not in my zip code. No pharmacy will fill pain meds in Florida it is ridiculous for a hard working person with a full time job and 3 kids to be forced into being so sick and in pain.

Dilaudid 8 mg is a very strong dose . Dilaudid is 10 x stronger than morphine if he's going to give you what you have said there is no need to worry its a very potent medication. If i were you i would do some research on Dilaudid 8mg. I hope i was able to help a little.
