Sublingual Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (Top voted first)

Updated

I've had a gastric bypass 10 years ago and still have not taken an NSAID orally. Presently, I'm having trouble with arthritic knees and have tried ice treatments, elevation, tylenol, turmeric, prescription creams and need something stronger. Can I take a NSAID under my tongue?

I can't take anti-inflammatories due to stomach issues and was wondering if there are sublingual forms of anti-inflammatories anyone has taken? I had a knee replacement 11 months ago.

There is a nasal spray of Ketorolac that is available, but it would require a prescription from your doctor. Alternatively, there are sublingual and liquid forms of Ibuprofen available in children's doses.

Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and stomach irritation.

Technically, you could take any NSAID sublingually, if your doctor approves, but it's not going to taste very good.

Is there anything else I can help with?
