What is Synthroid L B. Other side is. M ## Hello, Rebecca! How are you? I believe the marking you're looking at is actually M L8 and this tablet is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals, they list it as containing 0.1mg of Levothyroxine. This medication is most commonly used to treat thyroid disorders, the FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, hair loss and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is it alright to take Bactrim when you are also taking synthroid? ## Hello, Judy! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between taking these medications, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. Bactrim is an antibiotic, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Bactrim is Sulfameth. If you are allergic to "Sulfa" drugs, also known as"Sulfonamides", DO NOT take the Antibiotics; BACTRIM, or SEPTRA. Also, the diuretic (fluid) pill LASIX. The blood pressure pill LISINOPRIL has also caused a reaction in some people with Sulfa allergies.

Synthroid 5 mg, when is the best time to take this pill? ## Synthroid contains the active ingredient Levothyroxine and for best effectiveness, it is usually supposed to be taken in the morning, one to 2 hours, before eating or drinking anything other than water. Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, headache and weight changes. Learn more: What instructions did your doctor or pharmacist provide? ## since it comes in micrograms, I suggest never...your hair will fall out and your mouth and lips will go numb! If you take it, take it with nothing, no calcium!!! Ask the Doctor to clarify the drug order!!! I as a nurse would and usually do when I see a goof up! ## My PCP has me back on synthroid (.05MG) from previously taking (.025MG). I have been off of it for about 4-5 months because...

why would the endocrinologist change the dosage from 137 mg to 125 mg Synthroid ## Hi Ruth, Not to off-put your question, but you asked what a higher dose was, and 137 is obviously a higher number than 125, so i don't quite see what you're getting at with that? As to your other question regarding why the endocrinologist changed your dose, he/she certainly has a good reason for doing so and it's honestly anyone's guess until you ask the endocrinologist personally why they made that decision, for there are several possible reasons; including but not limited to: a judgement call based on your thyroid levels; lowering your risk of certain possible side effects; trying to slow-taper you off; etc.... but how would you really know until you asked them personally? You ask a simp...

these numbers seem to be very misleading. I am in bio-identcal thyroid supplement but even on synthroid the tsh was very high. doctors seem to be mystified and can't get appt. with endocrinologist for 3 months. ## Hi Kathy, Sorry to hear about your situation. I'm not completely familiar with thyroid readings, but if it's of any help, the normal values listed for 'T3' levels are said to be anywhere between 100 - 200 nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL). And a typical range for 'T4' is said to be from 4.5 - 11.2 micrograms per deciliter (mcg/dL). Reference: 1). nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003687.htm 2). nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003517.htm Perhaps certain symptoms you may or may not have could also be looked at as an indication for determining ho...

I was put on a T3 compound of 15 micrograms twice a day and Synthroid. I ended up having about four to five incidents where I had severe stomache cramping and then violent vomiting and a month or two after starting the meds. I did ask my Dr. about it and he said he did not know what that would be from and ordered a food allergy test, which came back fine. I did not feel like the Dr. cared and I did not want to continue having those incidents so I stopped taking the meds. I have not had any of those incidents since but of course I am having all the super sucky symptoms that required the meds in the first place so now I am trying to figure out on my own how I can fix this. Has anyone else experienced this? If so how was it fixed? Why would this happen? Is this a side effect of the T3 or S...

i have been on synthroid and armour and now back on sythroid and cytomel. I have put on twenty pounds and have all the other symtpoms that come with hypo. despite doing medifast and working out. i spoke to my cardiologist the other day and he suggested if nothing is working maybe i never should have been put on it. I was diagnosed with hypothyroid due to my pregancy and losing a lot of weight quickly. my new endo said i probably had post-partum hypo and my other endo should have waited to see if it would have resolved on its own. i'm slowly weaning myself off and going to keep having doc take my levels every four weeks. I'm hoping i can feel like myself again after 10 years. ## Hi Heather, sorry to hear about your challenges with hypothyroidism. May I ask what your typical day t...

I need to know if essential oils will harm my tsh levels. Finally acceptable after thyroid removal in 2008 (cancerous). I have trouble sleeping and a friend suggested them. ## Hello, Robdel! How are you? I'm sorry, but no evaluations have been done to check essential oils to see if they do. I'd assume they most likely don't, because you don't really absorb much of the oils, at all, but you may want to double check with your doctor to be sure. Does anyone else know more?

hi has anyone taken this pill and has hypothyroid? && has anyone taking synthroid taken this pill? has anyone have had success ? lmk pleae i would really appreciated ## From what I've been reading online, there are many people who find Redotex to be a useful treatment option for hypothyroidism. Apparently it contains 75mcg of triiodothyronine (the same hormone your thyroid would normally produce). However, this medications also contains a number of other questionable ingredients that have been deemed unsafe when used together and even banned in some countries; so researching safety protocols first would be a good idea so you know exactly what you're putting in your body. I hope this helps!

I started on L-Thyroxine Synthroid tabs (Abbott mfg) in October. As of today (Feb. 4th) I have gained 11 pounds. Before taking these pills I had a steady 132 going for years. What's up? I thought if anything I would loose weight. Anyone else experience this? ## It is really hard to say whether it is the medication, because it could also just be a normal part of the aging process. However, Levothyroxine is known to increase appetite and cause weight gain as side effects in some people. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? They would be the only person that could help you get to the root of what's causing it. ## has anyone used thyroxine sodium human meds in place of throxine sodium pet meds I have4 found L-throxine sodium online no prescription needed but not from a "pet...

Do these two drugs mix well? I have been taking soboxins for a year and my dr. Said he has to remove my thyroid and take synthroid. He doesn't know I have been taking. the soboxins. ## Hello, Sue! How are you? Sorry about the thyroid issue. As to your doctor not knowing about you being on the Suboxone, you must tell them that, before the surgery. If they aren't informed, it could put you at great risk of serious complications and the inability to be properly anesthetized or to get adequate pain relief after surgery. Learn more Suboxone details here. This isn't a risk worth taking, you may need to switch to Subutex or to take a break from the Suboxone for a few days to have the surgery. And no, there are no interactions or problems listed between it and Levothyroxine (Synthro...

My life is my kids & wonderful husband. I'm so sorry, guys! Me-diagnosed w/ hypo-thyroidism '09. COULD NOT EVER-finish a sentence/thought/ or even a simple word like 'table' Slept 17-21 hrs/day. Dr put me in the Hosp. when my Husb. took me to the ER.Dr said I was extremely ill. In a "crisis stage/state" I was stabilized-out in 4dys. Started on 100mcgs of Levothyroxin. And I turned into a b**** from hell!²-(squared) So, I tried 50, 25,12.5, & even 6&¼! And I was still a polar opposite of my true personality. I'm not an A+ person w/no faults, by ANY means, BUT I am kind, loving, generous, funny, patient, and go out of my way (to the extreme sometimes, & my family gets irritated with me 4 that idiosyncratic, bordering on addictive behav...

I wanted to know if I can take mini thins while taking Synthroid. I have gained alot of weight since losing my throid and a nurse told me I could take the white ones with the cross on them. I just was wondering if it is something I should try being that she said it was safe to use and I can lose the weight with these. ## Hi, DeeDee! How are you doing? Mini Thins actually contain Ephedrine, which can be a very dangerous stimulant, if used improperly, mixed with some other medications or if taken with certain medical conditions. Thus, it's really not a good idea for her to be making a blanket statement that you can take it and it will help you lose weight. Learn more Ephedrine details here. Whether or not you can safely take it is something that should be double checked with your doct...

I have celiac disease and my endo doc recently switched me from Levoxyl to Synthroid. I have read that Synthroid is not guaranteed to be gluten free. Anyone have the answer? ## They both contain the active ingredient Levothyroxine, so you really haven't been switched from one medication to another, your doctor just used a different name brand for it. As to whether or not it is gluten free, that's going to depend on which one you receive from your pharmacy. Do you know if they usually give you the name brand or a generic? I just started taking both of these pills and I need to know how long to wait to take the other pill. Both pills are to be taken on an empty stomach and first thing in the morning. Plus I need to take calcium for the osteopenia. ## Hi Jolene, Based on my research, there are no drug interactions listed between Atelvia (risedronate) and Synthroid (levothyroxine sodium). So with that in mind, I don't think there would be any problems taking the two tablets at once or within the same time-frame. You are right about food though. It should be avoided at the time of your dosing, since it can supposedly diminish the absorption of each medication. I hope this info helps!

generic for synthroid ## any thyroid meds .88mcg without blue dye as an ingredient ## Hello, Based on my research, Levothyroxine is a generic for the brand name medication Synthroid. It is a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone thyroxine, which is normally secreted by the follicular cells of the thyroid gland. It is also used to treat thyroid hormone deficiency, hypothyroidism and occasionally to prevent the recurrence of thyroid cancer. "Less serious" symptoms include: -Changes in weight -Changes in your menstrual periods -Hair loss -Mild headache If you notice other side effects that you think are caused by this medicine, tell your doctor.
