Michigan Pain Management (Top voted first)

Updated

I suffer from back and neck pain from 2 car accidents. I live in Michigan. I have always just dealt with the pain but as I get older the pain gets worse! I have been a labor worker for 20 yrs and now I work in an office with great insurance and benefits. I have an referral appointment at a pain management facility. Nothing over the counter works for me and have tried narcos, hydrocodone, oxcicodone, roxicodone is all that worked for me. Any advice on how to get one if these prescribed?

I don't know which side of Michigan you live on, but when I lived on the west side~FORGET IT~all they give is Motrin, & make you go to the hosp. every time you hurt...it was so ridiculous & I was in so much pain that we MOVED to the detroit area where it shouldn't be that hard to find a pain mgmnt clinic to address & manage your pain. I went to dr. paese & he was EXCELLENT~.

Kay- I am a chronic pain patient who has seen the same doctor in Metro Detroit for 9 years. He was very compassionate and kind; he had me back to work and able to care for my family but not ever feeling out of it. Of course the DEA has gone after him, and I cannot get my meds refilled. I have some of my old pain medication left over from when I switched, and I have been tapering myself down as I have seen 5 doctors-one of them a "pain management" doctor-who have basically told me they cannot help. Even pain management docs are refusing the opiate medications in large numbers-despite records and documentation. I have a pinched nerve and bone on bone grinding in the L4-L5 area and L5-S1 is shot as well. I went to the place where Dr. Paese is and they gave me Dr. Oddo-who was disrespectful and condescending. I am getting the diagnostics he referred me for to show him that I am being straight with him (mine are older), but when I asked what to do about my pain in the meantime when I have to work and take care of my family he just sent me to a NASTY man from St. Mary's who is an "addiction specialist" to "get off the pain meds". I am already weaning down-the withdrawal is not my concern-it is the PAIN that I have which will not allow me to live my life! I was made to feel like an addict not a pain patient-and he even tried to tell me that my scripts did not show on MAPS-which is NOT POSSIBLE as I always use my insurance and go to the same pharmacy. Anyway, if you can contact me about Dr. Paese and/or any other suggestions you may have to help me I would be so grateful. I am sorry you are also struggling with this problem and I hope that you have found some peace & comfort.

Hello, Mickey! How are you? I am very sorry that you're in pain.

Your really just need to see your PM specialist and be honest with them about your pain levels. You'll also need to cooperate with any tests and such that they want done.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?

I live south-east a mile north of Detroit. I found a great PM doc in Rochester. I was getting tramadol but I have been moved up to narco 10/325 which is working great.

I did everything my pm wanted till I couldn't get to a pill count due to not having a ride and they just cut you off and don't care. I need a PM doctor in Richmond Ky at Baptist Health.
