I have been diagnosed with ADD when I was 19 and also PTSD around the same time. I am now 24. I finally went to a dr instead of self medicating. It has been yrs. since I have been off of adderall for my ADD and klonopin for my PTSD. I live in NY and as you know a lot of dr.s here get locked up. It's happened to both of my Drs. Since then I've been an opiate addict and just came home from prison. I'm not a bad person I just need to be properly medicated but no dr wants to prescribe me anything even though I have been properly diagnosed. I'm on methadone now and still can't properly function. I don't use opiates anymore but my ADD and anxiety cripple me in everyday life. Please help if you have some advice I would greatly appreciate it. ## When seeing a new doctor,...

Hello All: Eight years ago I had a gastric bypass losing from 294# to 117# (too low for a 61 yr. old female). Currently 145# & feel good from weight standpoint. I have had many adversities from the bypass with 4 subsequent small bowel resections. I cannot absorb generic meds. This leads me to excess costs on all of my meds. I was changed from brand Lexapro to escitalopram (generic) in June and by Sept., I was suicidal and required intensive treatment until I could get the brand Lexapro. My insurance (Medicare Advantage Plan) is a nightmare to cover any of the brand named meds even when my Psychiatrist states Brand medically necessary. Am also taking Wellbutin SR 450mg/day which is over the recommended max. dose. Dr. is wanting to change me from Wellbutrin SR to Adderall 30mg hoping ...

The worst. Don't get it filled ## 100% agreed!!!! I have been on Adderall generic IR since January 2014. Always filled @ CVS. All previous scripts were manufactured by TEVA. (Large football shaped, orange, sweet tasting & 30mg.) They worked great!!!! Until this past Wednesday (Aug 19th, 2014) I went to pick up my script as usual and didn't think anything of it until the next morning when I had to take one. It wasn't the same shape or taste. (This one was round, orange and a chalky bitter taste.) So I took my usual dosage and Bam Nothing happened, I was like WTF!!!! So I looked at the bottle and this new script was manufactured by Aurobindo. This pill does nothing! I've taken 4 pills total and am calling the pharmacy ASAP.... If you hear this pharmaceutical company...

CAN YOU TAKE BOTH OF THESE MEDS? WHAT ARE REACTIONS IF ANY? ## I'm not sure why you are on one medication (Xanax) that depresses your system, and another (Adderall) that is a stimulant. Perhaps the Adderall is to help you with ADHD? That is typically the only reason one takes Adderall...if they have a focusing deficit and need the mediciine to concentrate. Some people who have ADD are very wired and excitable so doctors put them on things like Clonodine, (but usually not Xanax), to help calm them down. Xanax can cause marked drosiness, blurred vision, lethargy. Adderall can cause heart palpitations, over excitement, diarrhea. ## Have they both been prescribed for you? They are sometimes prescribed together, if a person has a condition that requires Adderall, such as ADHD, or shift-w...

My 23-yr old daughter has been on Adderall for eight years, with the prescription covered all that time by the same insurance/HMO provider. This month, her doctor (or perhaps the pharmacist) switched her to a new "generic" for Adderall - "Dextroamp Amphet" - and the insurance provider has written us to say they won't cover it. Seriously? A generic alternative that (I can only assume) is intended to save everyone money, and the insurance provider WON'T cover it? What am I not understanding here? ## Some insurance companies are reluctant to cover generics and, in many cases, it has to do with quality concerns. The FDA does allow generics to differ from the name brands by as much as plus or minus 20%, in the active ingredient. They consider this an effecitive and sa...

Hi! I'm new to this forum, but not really new to mental health. I've struggled with OCD, depression, and anxiety my whole life and have taken many different meds for them in my 29 years. But this post isn't about me. It's about my boyfriend. We moved in together in March of this year. I knew he frequently had mood swings, but I wasn't sure why. But about a month after we moved in, he told me he has taken adderall for about 10 years for severe ADHD. He hadn't told me before because he was ashamed of it. Of course I was understanding, and assured him that it was nothing to be ashamed of, and that if I could help him in any way, to let me know. But it goes deeper. See, he gets prescribed 40mg a day. But he takes about 60 and breaks them in half, so he's taking i...

Camber's new generic for Adderall IR 15mg is no good. Prior to it I got 10mg Adderall from CVS and it worked great! Just got a fill from Kroger since CVS was out of stock. The brand is from Camber and not only does it not work, it makes me feel unwell, sleepy and super irritated. It’s crazy how companies are able to differentiate in their generics like they do. This Camber brand just makes me want to go to sleep but I feel so unwell it’s hard to. I can’t focus at all on anything but how sick I feel. Don’t take this new stuff people and if you have what did you think? ## Generic medication can vary up to 20% in strength from the name brand, so one could be 20% weaker and another 20% stronger than name brand, so that’s a huge difference. Please complain t...

Has anyone who has taken Adderall IR for more than five years (or at anytime) experienced a severe skin ulcer? ## No I have taken it off and on since 2005, BUT different generics use different fillers so maybe you have an allergy? ## It is not listed by the FDA as a known side effect of taking Adderall, the typical ones include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, mood changes, weight loss, and anorexia. This medication also carries the risk of being habit forming. Ref: Adderall Information Are you on any other medications? Did you injure yourself in any way that may have led to ulcerations?

I have a bottle of 90 Sandoz Adderall that I don't wan't. It's giving me headaches. I know the pharmacy won't take it back. How do I properly dispose of it without harming the environment? ## HI, Jane! You can take it to your pharmacy for disposal, that's usually one of the things they do. The other option recommended by the FDA actually isn't great for the environment, they instruct you to mix it in with some undesirable substance, such as used cat litter or coffee grounds, place it into a sealed container and dispose of it in the trash. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you! I guess I'll take it to the pharmacy. I wonder how they dispose of it. It's a shame because I've been taking Adderall (a different generic) for a year and it has ...

Are these suppose to have the beads inside them or is it powder form? Theyre orange 30mg capsuls with R-3061 on them. Took one and immediately fell asleep? ## There doesn't appear to be any photos of this pill online, however, I did come across posts from others stating that this particular capsule imprinted with "R 3061" does in fact have beads. I do find it odd how it put you sleep, considering that one of the side effects of this drug is insomnia. Did you take anything else with it? ## I really don't have any information for you on this, there is not listing of the capsules denoting how they are put together, I'm sorry. Learn more Adderall details here. Are these a different generic than what you had been taking? ## Hi Anon -- the strangest thing I have experience...

Has anyone used the Mallinckrodt. I have never even heard of it, and have taken the other generics with moderate success;. This brand is horrible. Very weak. Anyone experienced the same? ## Hello, Brian! How are you? Yes, several other people have complained about this one, though some have not had any problems with it. It really depends on the person. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, anorexia and insomnia. Can anyone else chime in that's taken this one? ## Generic Adderall made by Barr,Teva, Eon all seem to be great! No issues for over 4 years. Now for the 2nd time in the past 3 months I filled my script at Walmart. Instead of the orange oval pills, my bottle contained white, bitte...

So I am on my 6th day of Adderal that was prescribed by my doctor since he felt that my symptoms I told him about we're due to ADHD. My doctor warned me that this can be a addictive drug and that it is much abused by people because of the high it can produce. So I started doing research and watching video's of people who have used it and I was starting to question taking it. Now that I have started taking it and have experienced what it's like to be on it I really don't understand how people get off on this. I am currently taking the 20mg RX. My first day on it I would say that I could slightly feel that I had taken something but hardly worth mentioning since allergy medication messes me up way more after the first day even that feeling has subsided. I noticed that with ...

Hi All, I have been having the hardest time finding a pharmacy in Southwest Florida that carries Adderall and its generic. I am currently taking 15mg 3x a day (45mg). My doctor just put in a script for a 3 month supply, to be filling monthly. Walgreens calls me and says they have a new policy stating that because my doctor is over 50 miles away (Tampa area) they can't fill it and the max dosage is 40mg. I'm BAFFLED. First of all, people take up to 60mg a day of Adderall... and now I am on a goose hunt trying to find a pharmacy that is in stock or will even tell me over the phone. I just tried a WinnDixie and am hoping for the best.... Is anyone else in the Southwest Florida area having similar problems? ## Because of the shortage a lot of pharmacies in New England aren’t f...

Just wondered if anyone else has gotten a prescription filled with a round peach pill imprint U 31 on one side, and quarter score on the other ## Yes I got that generic yesterday ## @peter, Just to confirm, a round orange/peach colored pill marked with U 31 is in fact identified as a 30mg generic Amphetamine + Dextroamphetamine tablet. The manufacturer is listed as Aurolife Pharmaceuticals, based in New Jersey. I haven't tried them personally, but did come across a few posts on here stating that they weren't nearly as good as some of the other versions on the market. However, if you're not used to using other brands/generics, I'm not sure if you'd even notice any significant differences at all. I hope this info helps! ## They're horrible. I typically don't no...

I think Aurobindo adderall is counterfeit.. I've Been on adderall for over 7 years and never ever had this brand and I must say IT DOES NOT WORK..... Its total crap. I have went to my pharmacist and talked to him about this this and he told me to contact the FDA. I sent them an email and called. Please do the same. People need there medicine and this is unfair. Since taking this medicine I have had stomach problem and I dont know what I'm taking. People who have taken adderall from different manufactures know this medication is a fake. I got the orange pill with E404. It's from Eon Labs (Sandoz) 30mg. I don't feel the effect as I would on the CorePharma. ## This pill is indeed Amphetamine Salts 30 mg (NDC 0185-0864). One of the possible reasons why you may not be getting the same amount of relief with Sandoz (EON) as you might with Corepharma, is often due to the fact that each manufacturing company uses a different set of binders/fillers (inactive ingredients). This is basically the extra fluff that holds the tablet together. Some companies use more of it than others, and some even go so far as using cheaper genetically modified substances that our body's can't metabolize (yet it's what's covering up the actual active substance, blocking it being released in it's normal therapeutic quanti...

I have an octagonal white pill with "M" in a square on one side and "30" on the other side. Also, there are 4 score lines around the 30. Please help me figure out what this is. I was told it is a brand new generic for Adderall. I want to know with certainty. Thank you in advance for your help on this! ## Who told you it was a generic for Adderall? I've done some searching and actually came across the following information from DailyMed confirming that it does indeed contain a combination of Amphetamine + Dextroamphetamine 30 mg (NDC 00406-8894). Inactive Ingredients: - Microcrystalline Cellulose - Silicon Dioxide - Povidone - Stearic Acid Ref: DailyMed ## The one whom it was prescribed to. I'm looking for a private doctor to get back on my meds, adderall xr, klonopin, and subutex. Since this is a weird combo most doctors don't want to prescribe mymeds any more. My doc retired and the other moved. For like 4 years I have been looking for a doctor with no luck. If anyone has a good doctor that will prescribe my meds for me again please let me know I can't keep borrowing them from my mom or friend. I am a 28 year old female with three children . I need my meds!! ## Hello, Jess! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Certain types of 30 mg adderall (mainly the big, pink & as of recent orange round ones cut with a cross imprint), tend to not work as well 4 me as the 1's I always used to get orange oval-shaped 1's that read 30 & split in the middle; & kinda tasted like candy). This time I was filled em & the Pharm. Tech said the Manuf. is TEVA. Haven't pk.'d em up yet..wondering which they were. Been searching 4 an image online but so far no luck. ## I don't have an image to post for you, due to copyright reasons. However, I can provide you the markings and description of the 30mg mixed amphetamine salts tablet that is manufactured by Teva.
