Lortab Watson Blue Vs Lortab M363 (Page 5)
(Newest replies first)

My friend and I are both prescribed Lortab APAP10/500's. I get the Watson 540 blue pills and he gets the M363 white pills. I have taken the white ones before, but for some reason, it did not help me as much as the Watsons. I don't understand this. Besides the manufacturer, is there any real difference between the two different kinds of pills?

I have even had the pharmacist laugh and say, "I know you want the watsons it gets you there alot better".

Thank you Mimzy. I have had that question myself. It seems that the pharmacy changes suppliers from time to time so I will call before getting them refilled. I know that the yellow ones always worked the best for me but I don't know the manufacturer for those, do you?

Christina, They is a difference with the two type of pills. Watson always works the best. Yes the pharmacy will argue saying the is no difference, bull. Even when people sell these on the street Watson always goes for a higher price. I know name brands in alot of medications work a little better than generic.

I have tried to explain this to ppl for years, the med in the tablets have to be the same, but each company uses different ingredients for "binders", and each persons system re-acts differently for this reason. As a former Pharmacy Tech, (Fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis, retired me) it never bothered me when a client asked for a specific generic, b/c I knew from my own experiences, what worked for me. But, even Pharmacists will argue the point to death with a client.

No, there is no difference. For a drug to be used as a generic for another drug,it MUST be the same. There is as much of the same narcotic in both pills. Hope this helps.

Besides the difference in manufacturers, there may be a significant difference in the inactive ingredients in each pill.

Inactive ingredients found in M363 are:
crospovidone
magnesium stearate
microcrystalline cellulose
povidone
corn starch
silicon dioxide
stearic acid

Each Watson 540 tablet contains the following inactive ingredients:
croscarmellose sodium
crospovidone
magnesium stearate
microcrystalline cellulose
povidone
starch
stearic acid
FD&C Blue #2 Aluminum Lake

As you can see there is a difference in what they put into the pills, and that alone can significantly effect how the drug is absorbed into your system; including how effective it may be for you compared to someone else who might react differently to a few changes in ingredients.

I hope this info helps!
